I found myself in Torrance for a kids sporting event & found this place on Unilocal.Very authentic Korean snack-bar(boon-sik) restaurant. Everything we ordered was good especially the Ttoekbokki, shrimp tempura rolls and kimchee fried rice. I would highly recommend this place for a quick fix Korean fare.

Love this place. Simple, affordable and delicious Korean fare. The servers are extremely kind and the atmosphere is laid back and unimposing. Have been here about 5 times and have never been disappointed.

If you’re looking for basic, humble Korean food at a reasonable price, then this place fills the role perfectly. It’s ideal for a quick bite that resembles Korean home cooking. Just don’t expect anything fancy.

Four stars alone for the affordable, humble prices and good Korean food. Solid, comforting, delicious inexpensive Korean and Japanese food in the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Most of the dishes we’ve tried are pretty good and the portions are generous. «Boun-shik» style Korean restaurant where they serve familiar Korean dishes like Korean Sushi Rolls(Kimbap), Spicy Rice Cakes(Tteokbokki), Spicy Tofu Soup(Soon Tofu), Spicy Squid(Ojing-O Bokkum) and others. Side dishes«Banchan» is also good and fresh. All your favorite hits, mostly hits. As far as what we’ve tried: we loved their Bean-paste soup(Deon-jang jjigae, similar to Natto or Miso), loved their spicy squid dish(Ojing-O Bokkum). Not a huge fan of shrimp fried rice… still for the price I was content. The beef bowl was decent and comforting like mom made it. Since they also serve Japanese food, its cooked and done Japanese-Korean«Boun-shik» style serving dishes like Katsu and Sushi — imho, the Sushi here is a-okay. The Japanese food here decent, although my vote to Korean food at this restaurant. Rice Heaven’s stronger suit and specialty comes to their Korean food. Vegans might like the decently priced and tasty $ 3.99 Avocado Rolls(big hunks of fresh avocado), Vege Rolls and Cucumber Rolls(all very fresh). Service here is quick, efficient and nice. I’ll be back, Rice Heaven… For locals, a nice place to feast on asian bites on any weeknight, snack, or for lunch!

My husband and I went here for the first time tonight. We lived in Korea for two years and have been dying for a place just like this to get all of the non-BBQ staples of Korean fare. Rice Heaven didn’t disappoint. We both had Kimchi Jiggae — spicy, lots of kimchi, tender pork and delicious, and a kogi kimbap — just like we remembered them from Korea. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes! Service was great-friendly and attentive and they have very reasonable prices!

I stumbled on this place when I was shopping at Ralph in the same strip mall. The prices are very affordable and the dishes are pretty good. The food has that kind of family home-made taste which I like. It’s easier and cheaper for me to come here and get decent meals than cooking myself. Have been here few times already and will go back again and again.

Ehhhhhhhhh… this place is hit or miss with the plates. I’ve shared a variety of dishes… they give you three banchan here(japchae, kimchi and kongnamul). Kimchi was overly sweet. Here’s the dishes I’ve tried… Spicy pork– good marination. One of the better dishes here that I would recommend. Spicy squid– a little bit sweet but not too bad Baked crawfish roll– not what I expected. Basically crawfish on top of California roll. The ingredients aren’t really fresh and I can’t recommend this. Meat kimbap– best dish here. Wow the kimbap was bomb!!! Spicy rice noodles with soondae– sauce is a bit thin and the soondae tastes frozen. Yook gae jang– highly don’t recommend this dish. It was too white to even be called yook gae jang. Very bland and not spicy one bit. Only one worker here but she was good waitress. Was a bit busy tonight but she was attentive to our needs. I don’t wanna give it a two star because some of the dishes were actually good. I’m glad there’s a place close to home to get Korean food near my parents house. But this won’t be my go to!

Bad management. 1 server or worker for 5+tables. Waited 15 min for her to come and ask for our orders 10min for water 10min for 3 side dishes Am currently still waiting for our dishes. The food is good and pretty authentic.

The worst. Do not go here for sushi. Total rip off. Small portions, very low quality, and high price. They don’t have a website, so I went off the picture of the menu I saw on Unilocal. The prices were smaller on that menu and the pics looked good. When I arrived, I found out they raised their prices by $ 3! That’s excessive. The rolls I got looked nothing like they did in the pictures on the menu. First of all, when I called to order, they were out of everything I tried ordering. I was finally able to order the soft shell crab tempura roll, dynamite and lobster rolls. It was all gross. So many better sushi restaurants in the area. Even Fusion sushi is better! My bill was $ 32 for 3 rolls. Look at my pics. These were not good. Maybe they are better at making other things. I won’t be back to find out. Pictures below.

Good assortment of different traditional Korean foods. Nice to get your Korean fix. Plus the kimchi is legit — very tasty and available for purchase to take home.

Pretty good food! If you’re looking for good Korean food/sushi on the hill(the middle of no where), this is a place to go! Good food and prices are semi reasonable. Got iron and sushi for $ 12. Udon was good and that spicy crispy tuna roll was good! Tried their short ribs, which were good too. This place is probably a hidden gem! Seems like a lot of people order to-go.

I love their bibimbap. It’s fresh and not oily, the variety in the bowl is colorful, so many veggies. other favorites are the squid plate, teriyaki bowl and full of flavor udon. The ban chan is clean and fresh too. I must come here at least once a week. Julia the server/co owner is super nice too. It’s a Great choice for quick, yummy, clean and fresh lunch or dinner.

Don’t expect delicious food but I like the concept! This place is actually more of a catering place where you can order for parties but you can also eat at the small restaurant or to-go on your way home! I personally like calling this place a little before & picking up for convenience. Since there is no Korean restaurant on the hill, this place is very handy when you don’t want to drive far for Korean food. Keep in mind, it is on the pricey side for what you get — both taste & portion wise. But they pack very nicely & have variety of menu for you to choose from.

Excited to have a new restuarant on the hill, especially a Korean one. Tried the Jokae Kalguksu(clam noodle soup), half sweet and half spicy chicken wings and bibimbap. Server was very friendly and food was nice and hot. Fresh off the fire. Clam soup full of clams and broth was tasty. Spicy wings were not very spicy but flavorful. Bibimbap was OK. Egg was a little dry(overdone). I called a few days later to try to order wings for a party. Asked how many pieces in an order. Was asked to wait and another woman came on the line. I asked the same question. Was again asked to wait. Then I heard a someone speak Korean and click. I guess no one knows. :(
