Though I’ve been to the Torrance Marriot a couple times for various occasions, I have never been to Rain Wine Bar and Lounge till recently. It’s located right in the middle of the hotel lobby. It’s a small bar area with a couple tables and a backdrop that is supposed to be «rain.» I met up with a couple friends during happy hour here. They have various happy hour specials such as $ 5 sweet potato fries and $ 6 hummus. They’ve got various wines and beer as well starting at $ 5 but I’m not really a wine or beer fan and just opted for an iced tea for the night! I was a bit surprised that it was $ 4. A $ 1 more gets you a glass of wine and therefore thought that iced tea was a wee bit pricy. I also saw their specialty drinks were around $ 11 or more. A little pricey and atmosphere wise is on the ordinary side, Rain Wine Bar and Lounge is just ok place but not one would I necessarily go out of my way to hang out at.

Enjoyed dinner and wine on Xmas evening 2015 and had the pleasure of having Sara as our server. She was awesome and made sure my family had a pleasurable dining experience. If you have a drink(or dinner) I suggest you ask for Sara.

Slow service. Over priced drinks. There really is no reason to go here with better and cheaper drinks around the corner at the del amo mall. This place used to have nice ambiance, but even that has left the building.

Great outdoor patio area at this bar, but that’s where the benefits end. A group of us went here for a work happy hour. We had called ahead to reserve a table since we had a large group and were told they reserved a cabana. Upon arriving, they had no documentation of a reservation and all of the cabanas were full. Sigh.. .. Fortunately there was a larger table available so we took that. However, smoking is allowed around most of their patio area, which made our experience even more unpleasant. There were drinks and food available for happy hour but only one waiter on duty for the entire patio. Needless to say, it took so very long to get service. And the drinks were so weak that a few people drank several and didn’t feel a thing. Not cool. The food was okay but definitely not good. The clincher during this disappointing experience is when we went to split the check. One member of our group picked up the majority of the tab and then the remaining bill came later. At which time we realized that we were being double-charged for several items. It took a lot of time discussion with the manager to finally work it out. Overall, this was a really bad experience. Point being, this is not a location to seek out. This is a bar to go to if you happen to be staying at the hotel and want to have a relaxing(weak) drink without having to leave the building.

Nicest staff, totally helped us out. Our wines were delicious and the atmosphere was very calm and comfortable. I would definitely come back again.

I really like this place! It has a very quiet, chill atmosphere! I would most defiantly call it one of my favorite hidden gems as far as bars are concerned in the torrance area. Honestly a night on the patio with a beer or a glass of wine, next to the fire is the perfect place to spend a Sunday night! The staff is friendly and attentive. The only complaint I have is about the parking validation. Both times the machine wouldn’t accept what was given to me and I had to pay to get out of there!

Service took a long time to get to us. Once they did, it was good service. The Calamari tasted very bland as well as the beef skewers. The chicken wings were good. Happy hour wine was pretty good as well. Probably wouldn’t go back.

Love this cute little place. Right inside the Marriott! High tables and stools next to the wine bar… They have outdoor seating with fire pits. And a Starbucks inside. Great options.

Nice Happy Hour Menu & nice Happy Hour Prices! We sat outside at The Zen Lounge in a cabana and enjoyed the fire pit and excellent craft beer choices. We stopped by to sample some appetizers because I reserved some space at the Zen Lounge for my upcoming birthday. We tried the The Thai style chicken wings and the Korean Beef Skewers. The Beef was tender and you could taste a hint of lemongrass. The chicken had decent flavor and crunch. The ambiance was nice. Quite with 4 – 5 other groups enjoying the evening air. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu and to celebrate!

Good place to grab an appetizer and a drink! Bartenders are really friendly and helplful. I just got two apps(thai chicken wings and garlic edamame). The edamame were a liiiiittle greasy so if youre trying to be healthy by ordering this then pick a salad. The wings had an amazing batter but the chicken was kinda rubbery. Didnt stop me from inhaling them though!

This place is a little hidden jewel! I love the out door patio area with fire pits! Sarah was our server and she hit it out of the park. I frequent Torrence and will be back every time I visit.

Comfy and cozy; just grab a seat by the fire pit… There’s not too many good places to hang out in Torrance late night but this is a pretty good option if you just want to relax in a quiet setting.

The outdoor area is great in the evenings. There’s a cool fire pit, and I would love to come back during warmer evening with friends for a chill time. The inside bar is not very private, and only one section of the water feature was working, which seemed ironic for its name. There was some sort of reunion happening between the bar and Starbucks, so the entire place was crawling with older folk catching up. We split the western cheeseburger. I thought it was only so-so, but the boyfriend thought it was great. I much preferred the sweet potato fries. Like I said, it’s a great little place outdoors. Maybe I’ll come by for happy hour some day.

Been trying to get to this place for a while now, since I bought the Living Social deal and all. Finally made it here on a Saturday. Hotel and valet parking is not free so I recommend parking in the Del Amo mall parking lot directly across the street from the hotel. As soon as you walk in the lobby, the bar is right in your face. Took a lap around the bar and patio to get an ideal of the layout. The patio area is very nice. Lots of superior patio furniture and numerous types fire pits. They also have cabanas. And the cool thing about the cabanas is that they don’t have to be reserved. First come, first served. The patio is perfect for groups. Unfortunately, there are no TVs outside. I don’t know about on weekdays, but the bar is low-key. I could only imagine that on some days its sterile. But you gotta remember, the bar is in the middle of the Marriott lobby, so its safe to say they are not going for a loud shot taking bar full of wooo girls. By just people watching, you can see numerous airline pilots and flight attendants who seemed like they were fresh off an LAX runway checking in. Rain has a nice beer selection of bottles and drafts. Even though the bar is in a International hotel chain, the prices are very reasonable. After ordering the wings both traditional and Thai style, both were good. The Old School Cheeseburger was excellent. The fried egg on the burger really set it off. The BBQ Cheeseburger was also good. The Texas toast was a nice compliment to the burger. We also received great service by Stephanie from Germany, the land of fine engineering. Rain would be a nice place to go to watch the game without the sometimes raunchy crowd. More of a lounge than a bar. Will definitely go again.

Within the walls of the Torrance Marriott, right in the middle of the lobby, lies Rain Wine Bar. If you’re not paying attention, you may walk right past it. Although it is kind of hard to miss the huge wall of spirits and wines placed up so high that a rolling ladder is needed. Kind of makes you want to jump behind the bar and ride it like Belle in Beauty & the Beast. Of course while singing«Bonjour!» But I digress. This bar and lounge is quite a nice spot if you’re looking to grab a bite to eat or even have a drink after work(especially if it’s Happy Hour). I came here with a friend because I had a certificate but I will have to come back again since I just got a Groupon for Christmas! The best part of my meal here was definitely the warm potato chips. They are quite addictive and served with a yummy sauce which is reminiscent of a classic onion dip, just a little more fancy. Also, the bartender that was serving us was very friendly and knew how to make one hell of a Bloody Mary. Probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Along with the chips and cocktails, we ordered some calamari and a couple of burgers. The burgers were both pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. A little too charred tasting for me personally but other than that, acceptable. The calamari on the other hand I would not get again. They were quite tough, definitely overcooked and rubbery, and there was just nothing very special about them. I would come back for the drinks and chips alone, but I would definitely like to try their Thai hot wings next time! Oh also, I didn’t use this last time, but if you Check-In here I believe they give you 10% off your food. Not too shabby, I’d say.

Rain Bar and Lounge is located smack right in the middle of the Torrance Marriott Hotel. I love this place. My relative stayed here during their visit from Malaysia. Since then I’ve been hanging out here a few times. Great after work chill lounge. Its never overcrowded or too loud here. The décor is beautiful as it extends from the middle of the hotel to the Lobby area. Drinks are well mixed and bartenders are super nice! Free one hour parking for the hotel parking lot.

My wife and I checked this place out since we had purchased a gift certificate from for $ 25 worth of food at something like $ 2. It’s basically the Torrance Marriott’s hotel bar, but it is kind of like a lounge that extends into the lobby area and off to the sides. Most of the tables and the bar were occupied when we arrived at around 8pm but we were able to grab a table for two by one of the columns. At the table was the drink and food menu. There are a good amount of wines available by the glass or in bottles. The prices are not amazing for wines by the glass. Usually $ 8-$ 14. The sorting is by color and lighter to stronger/full-bodied. They also have specialty cocktails and a variety of beer options, only some of which were interesting. Only one server was working, but one or two bar tenders were behind the bar, too. We each started with a glass of Sterling chardonnay, which was recommended based on our request for an oakey/buttery chardonnay. It was pretty good. Then we ordered our food. First we got the cobb salad because it was listed as one of the items that would be available in 5 minutes or less. It was promptly delivered and was a pretty decent sized salad. Lots of fresh turkey, tasty bacon, egg, blue cheese, etc. that one would expect. Really good. Next we got the crispy calamari with a spicy jalapeño dip. This too was very good with nicely textured calamari that was well complemented by the dipping sauce. Lastly, we got the Marriott burger, which came with cheddar, bacon, and the usual produce accompaniments. The burger was a little on the dry side, but very filling. I selected for it to come with french fries, which were very good and went well with the ranch dressing they provided. All in all, a pretty solid meal from a hotel lounge bar. Just wish the prices were a little more reasonable. Summary: Location is hotel lobby. Self park with validation to save money. Service was pretty rapid given just one guy doing most of it. Pretty good wine selection(glass and bottle), though prices are a bit high. Food is excellent overall. Recommend the cobb salad and calamari in particular. Look for coupons on to really make the experience worth it.

Great place to hang out and chill with work buddies or friends.(it would also be a good place to take a date. It’s quiet, but yet social at the same time.) Reasonably priced drinks, pretty good food and good service.
