I am sad this place closed. I had good times here bowling and eating their wings as well as taking photos in their photo booth.

I would rather visit other bowling alleys without any fancy service than coming here because the service here was pretty bad. Sure, Lucky Strike has many unique features that a normal bowling alley would not have — a wine bar, a karaōke counter, pool tables, and HDTVs that show various sports games. Unfortunately, there was only ONE waitress who would take care of my food order(so yes, service was SLOW with capital S). Not only that, she also messed up on my receipt. Basically she charged my salad on someone else’s credit card. I was nice enough to tell her about her mistake(smh). Asian Salad(Romaine, Napa & Red Cabbage, Wontons and Diced Chicken, $ 10) — This was the only thing that somewhat made up the bad service. At least the salad looked and tasted like a $ 10 salad(okay maybe $ 10 was a bit overrated, $ 7?). I was hungry at the time too, so that probably made the food tasted a bit better(most likely psychological effect). Anyway, cabbage was crispy and chicken tasted like chicken. I personally think the Lucky Strike at Hollywood is far more superior than this Lucky Strike. Not to say that this is a bad place to bowl, but please do expect pricey bowling games and expensive food(as well as lack of service due to not enough waiters/waitresses). At least the overall bowling environment is better than most of other bowling alleys. Not too sure if I want to come back here again …

I suck at bowling. But anyway, I came here with a group of friends. Unfortunately it was on a Friday night so the wait for two lanes was over two and a half hours. While we waited we took advantage of their happy hour which goes on from 4pm-7pm. There were about five appetizers you could get for four dollars. And of course the regular menu was available for you to order from as well. Once we started bowling, it was good. It didn’t take too long to get our shoes, we were able to find our lane fairly quick. .. there were tons of balls you could choose from. The shoes were new, and didn’t stink. And the lanes were nice. There was loud music being played in the whole place so you were kinda in a club/bowling alley. :P It was kind of hard to talk to your friends while you were there. Setting up our names on the system took a bit since we couldn’t figure out how to work it. Once we did it was smooth sailing until the game was finished. This place wasn’t really too expensive. It was cheap to rent the shoes. and the price per game was about $ 8 per person. I don’t bowl often so I don’t know how that price compares to other bowling alleys. If I were to go back, I would make a reservation ahead of time.

Holiday party at Lucky Strike! I’ve been to Lucky Strike for several events and the last one I went to was for a private holiday party. I was one of the lucky ones to get to attend this event where the whole venue was closed for this party. The holiday party at Lucky Strike was awesome. Free food was overflowing. The servers kept bringing out pepperoni pizza, artichoke and spinach pizza, mac & cheese bites, birds in nest tarts and sweet n spicy beef skewers. All the appetizers came out fresh and hot from the oven and were delicious. The thin crust pizza was nice and crispy. The mac & cheese bites were oozing with cheesy goodness. The birds in a nest tarts were unique tasting with the goat cheese, mushroom and tomato toppings. The sweet and spicy beef skewers were tender and was on top of creamy mashed potatoes. The folks who worked at Lucky Strike were gracious with making sure everyone had food and they also were quick to ask for any drink orders. Aside from the great food and good service, the overall atmosphere of Lucky Strike is great for a party. It’s spacious with lots of seating. People can bowl in the fun bowling lanes that are lit up with bright lights.(For our party, I thought it was really neat that they had photos/videos that our party made going on in the background of the bowling lanes. It was a cool idea that made the party even more personalized. It was like a personal slide show that was being shown while people bowled). Aside from bowling, guests can also play pool or play rock band on a large projector. There seemed to be a fun activity in every corner. Lucky Strike was lots of fun and brought plenty of holiday cheer to all of us who attended this private party.

I dunno, to me a bowling alley should be more redneck. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I got a funny feeling going to a bowling alley in a swanky mall. The food is good. Another reason to be suspicious! If you prefer a clean, spacious bowling alley with a high-tech scoring system that actually works(no grease pencil), then Lucky is the place for you.

3.5 I don’t know why this place gets such low rating. Aside being kind of expensive, I’d say this place is quite a step-up from the Gable House. It’s not like one would come here everyday to bowl unless you are like the characters from Kingpin or the Big Lebowski. I don’t know where I’m going with this now, thinking the hilariously funny John Goodman just now made me forgot what I was going to say.

$ 55 an hour for bowling? And that’s before shoe rental. Are you shitting me? This place is a night club, let’s face it. The food is bar food, and the drinks are sub-par. There’s a dress code for this place! I mean, I don’t want riff raff hanging around either, but come on! The staff here is obnoxious, too. Look dude, you work in a glorified bowling alley at Del Amo Mall, don’t give such hipstery attitude. Bowling is just an afterthought at this place. It’s so dark, you can’t see anything worth a damn to bowl a decent game. I’d rather go to Gable House or Gardena Bowl. Both are ghetto as hell, but at least it’s affordable. If I’m going to stick my fingers in nasty, sweaty bowling balls, I might as well not get ripped off in the process.

Only been here for work functions so I can’t comment on the prices but I’m sure they’re high. We had our own section on the side with a pool table. The place is spacious and fun for a hip, younger crowd. I got 3 drink tickets and of course, used them all. I couldn’t bear to see any of these tix go to waste! The cocktail waittress did come by often. The well drinks were ok. The appetizers were decent. I loved the coconut shrimp! Def order that! The pizza and mini slider burgers were pretty good too. I didn’t touch the veggie skewers. Mac and cheese nuggets were just ok. Tip: Since you’re jamming your digits into a previously used bowling ball, bring along some antibacterial gel or hand wipes inbetween taking bites of this and that appetizer.

This review is for the bar and food only. Good atmosphere. Ordered the coconut shrimp. Kinda small but ok tasting. Salmon stack. Do not order. Was expecting like a seared ahi tuna but they make it fully cooked. Wouldn’t come back for the food. Ended up waiting for a movie here. The AMC is across the way.

In an attempt to remedy the situation mentioned in my first review, The general manager offered free bowling for my friends and I at anytime. I was a little hesitant about going back to this location but we were going to be in the area so I decided to take him up on his offer. The good: –Font desk staff was great and funny! — Aaron, one of the barteanders, was also great! I loved his energy.($ 11 for Patron/pineapple juice) The Bad: The crowd was a dud. Very boring. It was about 10pm and there weren’t many people bowling. Everyone was mostly standing around in the lounge/bar area! We played one game and left! We weren’t feeling it. I think we’ll just stick to Lucky Strike at LALIVE. More of the speed that we’re looking for.

While I’m not a fan of the private party prices, I did try to make good use of the $ 60+ I paid! The price included 2 hours of bowling(including shoe rental), unlimited margarita pizza, spinach and artichoke dip and pretzel dippers and drinks! Drink options included well drinks, beer on tap and wine. The atmosphere was definitely like cosmic bowling and they played some pretty decent music! Our waiter came around quite frequently during the first half to take our drink orders. I’d definitely suggest bowling fast because the time passes quickly! They shut off your lane when time is up.

This is about as nice as a bowling alley gets, and the food is actually really good – sometimes my wife who is picky, wants to come here just to eat. I’ve come here several times on the weekends with my kids and they love it here. If you have a child who is sensitive to noise or lots of crazy lights, this is the perfect bowling alley for you. They somehow muffle the sound of the pins so you don’t get that loud blast, and they don’t have crazy loud lights or music blasting. The bowling area has comfortable lounge seating and they have a lot of really light balls for the kids. The food is surprisingly good. It’s not your average bowling alley pizza. It’s more the quality you would find across the mall at Lazy Dog. The ahi tuna sandwich here is really good. We’ve also had the pizza, burgers, and various other appetizers which were also really good. The servers are nice and attentive. They will bring your food out to your lane, or you can go eat at one of their tables. It does cost a little bit more than your typical bowling alley, but prices during the day are not too bad. It was under $ 50 for shoes and one game for 5 people. One game was enough when you have small kids bowling. When you have a 3 year old rolling the ball, it can seem like an eternity before the ball gets to the pins.

We had a company team«party» at this location. 2 lanes and 8 people. We didn’t know they charged for«parties»($ 160? on top of lane/shoe rental), generously tip themselves for extremely slow drink service(who employs ONE bartender for an entire venue on a Friday night???), and have managers who double charge and yell at your for utilizing your«open bar» package. We got an open bar package which was communicated to us to be $ 36/person for two hours of open bar with premium liquor options. The manager on duty Kamilla charged us $ 72/person because… Direct quote from their event operations follow-up: «Our open bar packages include 4 drinks per person. Your beverage tab included a total of 56 drinks, which is more than 7 drinks per person, hence Kamilla charging double price(Premium Bar is $ 36 for 2 hours + tax & service fee).» So, in essence, their«open bar» isn’t an open bar at all. And Kamilla scolded us for using our«open bar» package saying it was their legal responsibility to cut us off. And then she forcefully kept saying she was right when she double charged us. As upsetting as it all was, 1 star for the fun we had bowling and… 1 star for the big refund we received the following week.

I came here for a kid’s birthday party so it was during the day on a Saturday. It was pretty cool. The bowling alleys can easily be set up with bumpers for kids and there are big ramps that kids can use to roll the ball. The couches are fairly comfy and the food was decent. Lots of pizza, soda, etc. The crowd was pretty family friendly during the day.

Apparently, it’s impossible to bowl on a Sunday night on the Westside. Every single AMF location had leagues until 9:30 or so. Finally, we called Lucky Strike, no leagues, no wait, and karaōke too! I’m so glad that league bowlers don’t like high end, bougie bowling alleys. Games and shoes were actually cheaper than the old school alleys too, contrary to my previously held misconception. Stylish lounge area with couches and high tables, that even non-bowlers can use while waiting for a movie. We were greeted by a friendly cashier, waited outside(by that time there was a short wait) and came back. After 7, security sets up, checking ladies’ purses and scanning with metal detectors. Somewhat of a turnoff, but they were cool and didn’t take away my flask or pass judgement on me for having it. We paid for our game and went to the bar. The shoes were new and clean, too! I started with a round of bloody marys, which were made from scratch and heavy on the vodka, just the way I like it. When I came back to order another round(so I could bowl better), the bar was more crowded, with just a bartender and a bar back covering the entire place, so that many complaints could be overheard. We ordered the cheese fries with ground beef to snack on, which were good and decently priced. The menu offered burgers, sandwiches, salads(who gets those at a bowling alley?) and tons of appetizers, all more gourmet-ish than your normal bowling fare. I liked the tables for food and drinks right there where we bowled, without staff members yelling at you to not bring food down to the lanes like you get in the old-school alleys. I had a lot of fun at this place! Hire some more bar staff, re-consider the heavy security, and you’ll be of 5-star quality.

This place is super fun! Always packed! They play pretty good music. It’s loud but I can always hear the peeps in my party. The bartenders can use some attitude adjusting, but that’s not stopping me from ordering from them.

Haven’t been bowling for almost a decade. Yes, for real, a DECADE! It was Kate L.‘s Birthday and her and another friend came up with the idea of going bowling. Good Kick! Something we don’t usually do and we get a semi workout out of it! lol When I called in, the lady told me it was«$ 65» an hour! I specifically told her that we were armatures and we’re celebrating a birthday and she still suggested $ 65 an hour + a $ 5.50 shoes rental! ~ Honestly, that was a turn off~ a note to Lucky Strike, if you want business do not tell them you charge by the hour when you can tell them $ 6.95 a game! Other then that, the night was fabulous! Great food, great friends, cool place to hang out! The great food that were beyond our expectations were their pizza, fried mac and cheese, french fries and onion rings. After 8pm, no one under 21 are allowed.

First time I’ve been here. The location is really nice. The outside(which is the Del Amo Mall) was really lively in the evening with all the lights and paper lanterns hanging around you. And going into the Lucky Strike wasn’t a step down nonetheless. It was decorated tastefully, modern and very well maintained. This was certainly the most upscale bowling alley I’ve ever been to. So they have the bar area with the lounge area next to it. There were lots of space. Then on the farthest side were the bowling alleys. Seating were plenty and comfortable for bowling also. I would come again if there was an occassion. It wouldn’t be worth my drive down here just to bowl for fun. That’s just me:)

I’m not a fan of bowling solely because I’m not very good at it but, I did get lucky once; with a strike that is. Despite of my 2 star rating, the company made this experience a fun one. It was my friend Vellany’s birthday and she made reservations for her guests at Lucky Strike. The only knowledge I had of Lucky Strike was from a scene in the HBO show, Entourage but I learned that the objective of this establishment was to provide it’s patrons a bowling alley with a night club/lounge feel. To an extent, this objective was reached with the red carpet and velvet ropes at the door, lounge seats, pool tables, music(sound system could use improvements) and dress code however, my mind just can’t seem to think of a bowling as anything more than just a bowling alley. The birthday package was approximately $ 50 per person which included shoe rental, 2 hours of bowling, unlimited food and nonalcoholic beverages. The cost for each of my cranberry/vodka was $ 7. We were served pizza(cheese/pepperoni), BBQ boneless chicken and chicken skewers with chili teriyaki sauce. The pizza was the only I can honestly say was decent. Everything into consideration, Lucky Strike was pricey. What else should I tell you? Perhaps, I should mention that you are a rat in a maze when looking for the lavatories; stumbling around dark hallways. It’s perfect for people who wish to take advantage of the dark; wink, wink but, horrible for the inebriated.
