Still great food as always. They changed their menu a bit(might be only this location, not sure), but still great food for good prices. The fried rice bowls are legit! IF I had to say anything negative, sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but only because of how busy it is and they cook to order. Worth it!

Was craving poke and King Poke was closed on Monday so came here to test out their poke bowls. What did we find? Very limited selection and a whole lot of rice! Still not too bad but somewhat pricey as well. Poke options: Select between salmon or tuna. Select between shoyu, spicy, or wasabi. Thats it. Bowls came out pretty heavy but quickly found out that most of it was rice. Good flavors though. I’m not a big fan of ginger so I’d request no ginger next time, but from the menu, didn’t know it was going to contain that. Basically the poke bowls came with seaweed, avocado(a lot!), masago, ginger, sesame seeds, green onion, cubed salmon or tuna, and a bunch of rice and sauce. Filled me up, but at the price, I think I prefer King Poke down the street. On previous visits I’ve tried the chicken plate. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. For teriyaki chicken, I’d rather go to wilsons burgers. Overall, not bad, not outstanding. Does the job.

This is my new favorite Chicken Teriyaki joint. I love their macaroni/potato salad, and the price is the best part! A must try.

Pros(+3) 6 Dollar fish or chicken bowl is solid Poke is not too salty or drenched in soy sauce which is good, but not as amazing as other dedicated poke places in the area Solid rolls and plates at reasonable prices 5⁄5 times have had my food ready within 10 – 15 minutes Cons(+/-) Garlic Shrimp was aromatic but greasy. If they somehow combined this into a deep fried batter it would be amazing Bottom Line: Solid place; likely to be a regular at lunch time! Would recommend to a friend and great for take out

The poke is good. That’s what I always get so I’m unable to comment on anything else. The reason for 3 stars is if you ask for water, you get it. However, they don’t give you ice in your water and when you ask for ice they claim they don’t have ice… Nothing like room temperature water to go with your poke!!!

i really dig their salmon poke bowl. you get a really generous portion of pretty much everything, and the guy working there is always friendly and helpful. i’ve tried a good variety of their stuff from the chicken, beef, spam musubi etc, but i always end up going back to the salmon poke bowl. they’ve recently revised their menus so not sure that everything is still available. i believe they also make their own hot sauce. it’s the only hot sauce they carry. personally, i was not a big fan. it sort of tasted like it had gone bad? but it could have just been an off day for me. plus, i rarely need the hot sauce cause everything has a lot of flavor without it. the prices are affordable, and you can either eat in or order to go. located in the crossways plaza next to yogurtland and chipotle: D

It’s definitely a go-to when I’m not sure what I want to eat. The garlic shrimp plate is so filling and there is always enough left over for another meal the next day. There’s lots of options and whenever I bring someone new here they are always pleasantly surprised. Something for everyone…

You ever work out early in the morning and get your SWOL on only to be starvin’ when lunch hits? You can either eat a big ol cheeseburger with large fries and a diet coke(see Louis Burgers IV review) and lose all your gains or you can follow my lead. Hit. This. Place. Up. Check it. You walk in here like a boss and look the cashier straight in the eye and say, «Aye bro, hit me with the tuna poke, no rice, no macaroni, all salad, and easy on the chips.» You slap down your credit card(or hand it gently to him — DONTMATTER) and pay your $ 12 like it’s no big deal. You ask for a spoon so you don’t have to pour all that damn dressing over the magnificent salad you’re about to partake. The poke is beautiful. Chunks of tuna, avocado, seaweed, sesame, and ginger. Feast for the kings! You give thanks and inhale this fish like a goddamn polar bear! Then you drive back to your depressing cubicle with no windows. You pull out the bottom drawer of your desk and stare into your shameful stash of hot cheetos, chocolate chip chookies, and a fifth of the crappiest whiskey you promised your wife you would never have again. What do you do? You slam that shit shut, that’s what! You walk pass your boss who’s eating a powdered doughnut and you give him the finger and drive home to make sweet love to your mediocre looking wife only to find your suitcase by the door and a letter on the kitchen table addressed to you. She said she is leaving you for your boss and is taking the house. Your day is ruined. But at least you had some good poke.

Really enjoyed having dinner at Maui Chicken & Fish. It is located in a busy plaza in Torrance, so parking can be a pain. The interior is small, but cozy; maybe holding about 20 people max. But they do have a lot of Poke combos. I ordered the Poke plate and it was delicious! It came with poke, rice with furikake, chinese chicken salad and potato salad. It was so delicious and so filling! The interior is not loud at all, so my friend and I had a great conversation while chomping on delicious poke. Overall: Great place for poke and great conversation!

So I’ve been coming to this Maui Chicken since it opened. The food is consistently on point so this 5 star review is for the service. I been wanting to write a good review about the guy behind the counter for a while but after tonight I had to. A disabled gentleman came in to eat and the young guy shined. He helped the gentleman place his order, kept him company and even helped him eat while still taking care of all the other patrons. It’s nice to see that there is still good people out there.

This place is a solid addition to the crossroads plaza. I usually get either the teriyaki chicken or beef plates, but now that the chicken plate is just 5.99, i usually get that. It is a really great deal for lunch. The teriyaki plates here come with 2 sides, an Asian salad with shredded chicken, and an interesting macaroni/potato salad. The sides are not bad, and a good addition to teriyaki chicken like always. The teriyaki chicken itself is a good and they give you a pretty good portion for the price. You can request extra teriyaki sauce, and also hot sauce to go along with your meal. The hot sauce is interesting, and reminds me of mango habanero. Overall, if i want to get lunch in the area, Maui Chicken and Fish is definitely an option that I really like, although the whole plaza itself has a lot of choices for lunch too.

Chicken Teri plate and poke ahi or salmon. The chicken Teri isn’t too sweet and not incredibly drenched with teriyaki sauce. bthe plate came with Chinese chicken salad which was okay and macaroni salad which I liked since with was not just mayonnaise but had potato also as a base. $ 5.99 The poke is just shoyu kind of poke with avocado. So good and refreshing especially during this hot summer. Comes with furikaki rice and salad. $ 12 There is also beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, chicken kaysu, garlic shrimp, spam musubi. The katsu is okay but not my favorite. They’re quick and nice. Dine in or take out. Bugger is the parking. Located at the torrance crossroads and by chipotle, in and out, gyu kaku. It’s always horrible to park there during peak times. I wish you luck with that lol.

First time at this location, and loved it ! I’m sure I’ll be back to try more things on the menu(which includes pretty much everything you can get at the Western Ave location in Rancho Palos Verdes.) The«Garlic Shrimp» is like Scampi — very delicious. Can be very low carb w/out rice. I sometimes ask for all salad(«Chinese Chicken Salad») instead of other sides. If you do get rice, it takes on the wonderful buttery, garlicky flavor from the juicy shrimp. They make a great Chicken Katsu, very lightly breaded and fried just right. It soaks in the sauce nicely, but they don’t cover it over or drown it in sauce. All entrees come with a side of Chinese Chicken Salad, steamed Rice, and a combination Macaroni and Potato Salad. They are quite willing to adjust the proportions as you like(normally comes with the largest side being rice.) The Chinese Chicken Salad entrée is light and flavorful with their slightly sweet dressing and crisp wonton strips. It’s one of the best bargains on the menu, and includes plenty of tender, moist chicken breast. Teriyaki dishes(Beef or Chicken) are also available, as well as Shrimp and several types of fresh Fish. My top favorite so far is the Tuna Poke ! Served with Avocado and Pickled Ginger on a small salad with Sesame Seeds and a very light Sesame Dressing. I will have to try the Salmon Poke sometime as well. The friendly counterman,(perhaps manager,) RJ, offered good advice to order the Poke as a meal(with Salad, Rice, Macaroni/Potato Salad) for only $ 1 more than ordering it as a separate dish. Couldn’t refuse that offer ! Another bargain I’m happy to know of is that you can add a delicious side of fresh Grilled Asparagus to any entrée for only $ 2 ! It’s one of my favorite dishes here — nicely charred, tender and beautifully seasoned. I wanted to order a second order of this lovely veggie dish ! This is a small, very casual, mostly take-out place, but it’s clean and pleasant to eat there as well. I especially appreciate that the volume level of their«ambient» music is fairly quiet and relaxing. You’ll find it in the Crossroads Center, just north of Skypark and just west of Crenshaw, next to IHop and Gyu Kaku. Can’t wait to come back for more !

Maui Chicken is the latest little new restaurant to pop up at Torrance Crossroads. Located in between IHOP and Gyu-Kaku, is this new eatery offering Hawaiian food such as teriyaki chicken bowls, katsu plates and tuna poke. I chose to share with a friend a $ 5.99 teriyaki plate along with a $ 2.506 piece gyoza. All of their plates come with Chinese chicken salad, potato macaroni salad and white rice. I liked the Chinese chicken salad. It came with several crispy wonton strips and good dressing. I also liked the potato macaroni salad. It had a very good ratio of potato and mac. As for the teriyaki entrée itself, it had good lean meat and plenty of sweet teriyaki sauce drizzled on the white rice. The 6 piece gyoza was a pretty good deal. Tasty, crispy, hot and fresh I cannot complain! There food is made fresh! The plate came out with piping hot chicken and rice. It’s always nice to see fresh, hot food. Portionwise, it is just ok. Not to much but not too little either. Just alright. Overall, Maui Chicken is ok.

It’s like someone heard all the girls complaining at work about how there were no places close enough to go for lunch and decided to plop this down on our own little restaurant strip! BFF and I were about to get our comfort food on at the ramen place closeby, but then… we saw it. The answer to our prayers: a sign that read SASHIMIGRADEPOKE. We could hardly believe it at first. Were we so hungry and overworked that we were seeing things? NO. There really was poke right in front of us. We cautiously approached Maui Chicken thinking it was too good to be true! Alas, how true and good it was! We both purchased our poke meals(decently priced) and scarfed it down when it came to us. The service was fast, efficient, and extremely friendly. Our poke meal came with a really good amount of poke, rice(with furikake?), delicious potatoe salad, and their Chinese chicken salad(which is better than other Chinese chicken salads in the area). Thanks, Maui Chicken!
