Very good, We tried the Kahlua pork, chicken teriyaki and the chicken katsu and we both agreed the chicken teriyaki was our favorite. The pork was very tender but would be better on a sandwich I thought. I thought the potato and macaroni salad was interesting. It was mostly tender potato with a bit of macaroni for some texture. I’ll be back again because it’s very close to my house and it’s something a bit different from the typical Mexican, Italian or burgers.

The combo plate is my go to for lunch. One, two, or three items plates with two sides. The Kailua pork is moist and flavorful. With beef stew, potato macaroni salad, and steemed rice. It makes a filling lunch. The bakery section has many delectable cakes and good bread. My wife’s favorite treat is the Dole whip. Soft serve pineapple icecream with or without fresh pineapple juice on top.

I came in for breakfast before 11am and ordered a loco moco with some coffee. The Coffee was delicious, but the food could have been better. The Meat patty in my loco moco was a little hard for my liking. Our table along with a couple of others around were dirty and it wasn’t until they brought our food that they realized they needed to be wiped down. I’ll continue to come here for their baked goods; however, I’ll consider coming in for a meal.

Love this fast casual bakery! Their light food menu is great. Place is clean. Prices and portions are nice. I come here for individual desserts, cakes and even to dine in. The breakfast burrito with spam or Portuguese sausage is great and the kids menu is perfect for my son. Gotta try the fried rice, potato salad. Paradise Delight slice. Everything is decadent. AND service is on point!

I love this place! I go out of my way when I drive thru to make a pit stop to either eat a meal here or get one to go for later when I get back to SD. I go back to Hawaii about once every few years and this place helps me not miss it so much. My new discovery there that is only available on weekends is the oxtail soup. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed. Why did I give them 4 stars instead of 5? Every time I go there I ask them to build one in SD and I’m still waiting…

I haven’t been here in a long long time. I think it was the loft the last time I was there. I wanted some Hawaiian food so stopped in. I ordered the 2 item combo with Katsu chicken and Hawaiian chicken. I chose Ramen salad and fried rice for sides. The food was tasty, the chicken was cooked well. The Katsu was better than the other chicken though. The fried rice wasn’t bad, not amazing though. I also got the onion rings. I think the onion rings and the Ramen salad were my favorite. The onion rings were crunchy and had good flavor. The thing is, I never leave feeling awesome. Generally I feel a little blah. Maybe I eat to much or maybe something doesn’t agree with me. It is worth a try on your own though.

PLANTATIONCHICKEN PARADISECAKE THEROLLS… The list goes on and on for what keeps me coming back. Hands down, they have the best fried chicken. Sorry Colonel. The«icing on the cake»(pun intended) is the Potato mac salad and broccoli(which I ask to sub instead of rice). My husband also likes the loco moco and the Miso Salmon was pretty good too. For dessert: Paradise cake is my winner. I haven’t had a chance to, but I plan to try the guava cake one day soon. :) For those not familiar with the Paradise cake, it’s 3 different layers of tropical flavored cake with the fluffiest frosting.

Stumbled across this place yesterday and I was in heaven! I love King’s Hawaiian Rolls and to find they have a restaurant! I pulled into the parking lot immediately. I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich which tasted great and came with a side of fries… fried to crispy perfection. Be sure not to leave without dessert, they have a full bakery!!! I had the featured Lilikoi Crunch with yellow cake and pineapple preserves OMG

Ah, the famous King’s Hawaiian! At long last we meet! After a long day out at sea, fishing in Redondo Beach, we made our way to the dine-in King’s a few miles away. Unfortunately, there was a long wait and it was getting late in the day. So we decided to make our way here to the local place. Looks really nice inside, its well kept and clean. Clean restaurant, clean food! I ordered the combo with the Hawaiian chicken and beef stew, with the ramen salad and fried rice as the sides and a spam masubi. Hawaiian chicken was really nice, tender and juicy with really good flavor especially on that fried crust. The beef stew though tasted like something at the cafeteria line when I was in the Army. It was pretty, well, yucky! As for the sides, what sounded appetizing when I ordered it, the ramen salad didn’t delight. The fried rice on the other hand was good, nicely seasoned and put together, just south of excellent. The spam masubi gets the ultimate prize of the night. That was good stuff, yet not home made good stuff, if you know what I mean! It was nice to cross off on my list of places I need to try. It’s a good place, but I can’t really jump out of my seat and say I want it again.

Portions have gotten smaller over the years and food is inconsistent. Some days I eat here and I feel like it’s a 8⁄10 some days I feel like it’s a 1⁄10. It used to be a lot more constant now it’s nothing special. I strongly urge you to only come here for the cakes and bread and not the food. I stopped by the other day and got the three entrée. I choose the teriyaki chicken, beef stew and Hawaiian chicken. The Hawaiian chicken was disgusting this time. I’ve had it here before and this time it was so sweet it tasted like candy. I’ve never tasted chicken so sweet in my entire life. The portion of the teriyaki chicken also looked sad. The beef stew was good but there wasn’t a lot of meat. Overall for $ 10-$ 11 the portion was small. Food was ok but I think I’m done coming here for food and will come only for the cakes and bread.

Awesome breakfast burritos worth coming back for! They always have their burritos served with guacamole which makes it much flavorful! Their loco moco is spot on also! All around a good food joint

Delicious and fresh baked pastries, donuts and cakes are made here. One of the popular and favorites here is the paradise cake but Oh myyyy have i recently tasted what i would consider my kryptonite… the lilikoi crunch cake!!! I have encountered torture and yet heaven at the same time. This cake is moist, flavorful, crunchy and not too sweet… i can’t see how they can perfect that any more. The food here is also good. My two regular items are the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice and stirred fried vegetables and also the chicken salad.

Must Order: Porky boy sandwich, Dolewhip As a born and raised Hawaii local, moving here meant being so far away from my favorite local kine grinds. I had been on the search for a good saimin similar to Zippy’s saimin. My husband and his dad remembered that there was a saimin available here and so we decided to make the drive out for lunch! My husband and his dad LOVE the porky boy sandwiches. I’ve only tried a little bite but what I had was really yummy. I ordered the wonton saimin and it was very similar to the Zippy’s saimin! I felt satisfied in getting my craving fulfilled! I wasn’t a big fan of the wontons but everything else in the saimin was good! If you’re feeling a cold sweet treat, you must get the DoleWhip! Better than waiting in the long lines at Disneyland!

This review is for the dine-in food. Came here mid way through the morning and got breakfast. I got the the breakfast loco moco, a bit pricey to me for the amount of food but it was okay, I think the regular loco moco is better priced. Breakfast Loco Moco comes with an egg, which they inquire how you like it done, a hamburger patty and gravy, all this goodness on top a bed of rice. I would’ve liked a bit more gravy personally, and either the patty used is leaner than usual loco moco or just overdone? It was a bit dry and tough. They serve it a bit thicker also than what I usually see. I personally think if it was cut thinner and 2 thinner patties instead of 1 thick one, the overall texture might not be as tough and dry. I’ll update this review if I do come back to this location, personally, my experience with the bigger King’s Hawaiian location in terms of food and service is a lot better, might be due to the style of the place too. Overall the food was okay and the vibe is okay too.

If I can give this place a 0 star I would. Never coming back to this place again. I asked if I can switch the Hawaiian coleslaw to the chow mein coz it taste and looks really gross… Okay to switch but with an extra charge. I can’t believe this! Okay changed of review now… My original server came back and was very apologetic and took out the extra charge for the chow mein… See customer service does matter!!!

I came last night for my birthday dinner. If you sign up through their mailing list, you get a BOGO entrée + slice of cake coupon! I ordered the 2 entrée combo– kalua pork & hawaiian chicken with ramen salad and fried rice as my sides. My bf got the loco moco with over easy eggs. The slice of cake I choose was paradise cheesecake! I’m growing to like cheesechake now :) Service was WAYYYYY better than the last time I came, thank god. I will be coming here more often now!

I ordered the Lau Lau, Kalua Pork, Lomi salmon entrée and I was a bit disappointed on the amount of Lomi salmon I got(which was in a sauce container that they also put teriyaki sauce in). Kalua pork and Lau Lau was definitely delicious!

I stopped by here a few weeks ago because I was working nearby and decided to grab a cake to-go. Since it was my first time here I asked the worker for a recommendation. Based on her recommendation and Unilocal reviews I decided to go with the paradise cake, their signature cake. The paradise cake is really pretty to look at – with a layer of guava, lime, and passion fruit all in different colors. Taste-wise I only thought this was only ok. The flavors were very, very subtle and the cake wasn’t very sweet at all. I personally would’ve preferred the cake to be a bit sweeter but my parents enjoyed it. They thought it was very similar to cakes you would find at any Chinese bakery. Overall, pretty cake but I would probably get something else next time.

I was excited to try King’s Hawaiian. The ramen salad and chicken katsu were great, but the kalua pork was salty and, to be honest, had a bad flavor. The potato salad was also just okay. I don’t think this place is much different in quality from other Hawaiian chains, unfortunately. I think what they have going for them is the bakery. If I make it back, I would try a slice of paradise cake or their guava-coconut drink.

I had a surprisingly delicious lunch here. I ordered at the counter: A BBQ Kalua Pork sandwich and a pink guava lemonade. The young woman at the register successfully did her job upselling me and convinced me I couldn’t live without a Lava Whip so I got one of those too. My food was delivered to my table in about 5 minutes despite the place being crazy-busy. The sandwich came with fries which were good but nothing special. The sandwich had flavorful pulled pork between a pillow-soft King’s Hawaiian bread bun. There was also pineapple chutney, an onion ring that had macadamia nuts in the breading and a bit of slightly tangy BBQ sauce on top of the pork. Great sandwich! The guava lemonade was really tasty — I’d definitely order this every time I came here. The Lave Whip is a Dole Whip with some strawberry purée and crumbled coconut macaroons on top. I wasn’t the least bit sorry I ordered this — it takes a Dole Whip up a notch.
