Was craving barbecue and came upon this spot. Despite it being a Saturday night at dinner time, there were only a few couples in there so it was quick to order. As we were eating the line got longer, so I imagine food wait time depends on that line. I ordered the two meat dinner — pulled pork and brisket. I had my choice of sides and went for coleslaw as always. The servings were substantial and I was stuffed when I was done. The pork was nice and juicy, and the sweet smoky barbecue sauce was SO amazing. The brisket was good — a tad dry, but that kind of meat usually is. I slathered my barbecue sauce on it and ate it right up. There was also a square of cornbread, which was average. It was soft and warm, so that’s a plus. My husband ordered the hot links and beef rib with the spicy sauce. He said the hot links were delicious, the beef rib was a bit tough. The spicy sauce didn’t have enough bite and was a little watery. He said next time he’d order the brisket and hot link, and use the sweet sauce. Overall, I was pleased with my dinner. It was about $ 12.50 for my plate, not including drink. I think I got adequate portions for the price. If I’m in the area, I’d go back!

Probably the best tri-tip in all of Los Angeles county. Lives their sandwiches and home made coleslaw and baked beans.

Everything on the menu is delicious. Beef ribs are my favorite, always have a nice smokey flavor. Pork ribs brisket pulled pork always tender. The owner is always friendly and courteous. Not only do u ou get to have great food but you can also watch the game. The only problem is that he sometimes runs out of ribs.

Mac n Cheese here was made simple and yet it was super tasty. We got the BBQ combo of BEEFRIBS, BABYBACKRIBSANDBRISKET. Pretty good ribs but the brisket was dry. Corn bread was average. Coleslaw was ok. We came here hungry on a Sunday lunch hour and no crowd yet. We shared a big bottle of cold beer and finished the whole food in less than half an hour.

We were craving BBQ and the place we had been going to, went out of business(I guess we didn’t go often enough). We both had baby back ribs with a side of fries. The sauce was delicious(sweet sauce) and the pork was tender. The fries were also good and the atmosphere is pretty nice for a order-at-counter place. This will be our new go-to place.

I thought this place would be so good and I was looking forward to eating there. Unfortunately it was nothing like I thought. The reviews were excellent yet my review here I rate it average. I found the food boring but try it because this is only my opinion.

We visited this place tonight after passing it by a thousand times and we went just 40 minutes before it was closing. We were told by the clerk that Joey’s was out of tri tip(what I would have ordered :/) and something else I can’t remember. I ordered the 3 sliders combo and fries, the wife(the vegetarian) ordered the corn bread and baked potatoe and the granddaughter ordered the pulled pork and fries. My sliders combo was very good. I ate the sausage one last dreading it but after the 3rd bite, it grew on me. The cornbread was VERY sweet(I don’t like sweet cornbread) and the fries were very McDonald’s. That’s a trend I wished would go away. Big pub fries would have been better. We all had the sweet tea which tasted fresh made. Rhonda’s baked potatoe was huge and tasty. They also had the corn on the cob, which they liked. The décor is very modern country. Lots of dark wood and country type décor and LOTS of TVs to watch. The soundtrack was a mix of 1980s and 1990s top 40(I was expecting country music and I was glad it was not because I HATE country music). The price was pretty reasonable and the food was pretty filling. One thing: They have sauces out on the condiment table, one of which claimed to be spicy. It was NOT. They need to up their game on the Capsaicin factor.

First time here and it was not bad. The pulled pork and brisket had some decent flavor. The baby back and beef ribs, however, were a bit plain. I wouldn’t recommend them. The beer battered onion rings are good, but very heavy and greasy. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, but very plain. I may give this place another shot and try something different.

I like this place. There was one in the Manhattan Beach Mall … but it closed«many moons ago» This location has been open, I’m told for a few years … but our trip was a 1st for us. I read other Unilocal reviews and got some valuable tips. FOOD … was good. I had the ribs … which were a bit fatty but had flavor. I’ve tasted better ribs elsewhere but for the price here these are good. I didn’t order the mac and cheese as another Unilocaler wrote that it was bland and didn’t taste well. The cole slaw was recommended by other Unilocalers … hence … I ordered it and it was good ATMOSPHERE … it’s clean and well lit. This place is a bit on the small size but there were plenty of places to sit SERVICE … was good both when ordering and when our orders were brought to the table «All in all» I’ll be back

Full disclosure: I am not much of a BBQ person. I am more of a taco person, but I liked Joey’s. I had the Southern Sliders. This was one pulled pork, one brisket, and one hot links. I liked the hot links the best. If I go back, I will get the full size hot links sandwich. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. The person that took our order was very friendly and stooped to see how we were doing several times. If you like BBQ, Joey’s is worth ckecking out.

Sadly, this place is merely meh. If they’re actually smoking meats in here, it sure isn’t for very long. The ribs were bland, as was the brisket. The sauces taste like something you’d pickup in the ketchup aisle at the market. The hot link was decent though, so that was a plus. Honestly, we only tried Joey’s because a flyer came in the mail. We were hoping for a good place nearby, but it wasn’t meant to be. We won’t be back after this visit. If you’re looking for mediocre BBQ, and feel that Lucille’s is too expensive, this may be the place for you. Otherwise, Joey’s is a pass…

Best in the South Bay. Fork tender brisket and Fred Flintstone huge beef ribs. Super moist, smoked well, and flavorful. Love it because it’s only minutes away when you’re hankering for some BBQ. Another person mentioned Lucille’s. Yes, this is far better BBQ. They don’t serve drinks in mason jars but if you’re serious about the meat, customer appreciation, and care they put into smoking fork tender BBQ. Joey’s is the place on the South Bay.

I was suppose to take a picture of the food … But I was hungry and ate it way to fast to remember to take a picture. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries because it was Wednesday special and it was delicious !!! Can’t go wrong. Make sure to pick up extra pickle and jalapeños at the drink station. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our server was really helpful in helping us deciding what to order. Will definitely comeback. Note: they have a coupon for buy one meal and two drink and get the second one free. What a deal in the local magazine.

Wow if you ever been here it blows Lucille’s BBQ away… They have TVs inside and the food is just down right good… Not dry and overcooked like some places… Tender and moist with great BBQ sauce… I only had the chicken with baked beans and the corn bread is so moist… I’m not sure why there isn’t a line out the door waiting to get in this place like other BBQ places… seriously. Staff is ultra friendly and so is the owner… I been driving by this area for years and never noticed it and one day I walked around and saw it and was like gotta try this place one day… Seriously come here get your food don’t get served overpriced and extra food that isn’t quality from other BBQ places… We’ll probably try them out for catering soon as well…

What a great find! My sis told me to come try this place and I’m glad we made a family trip here. I got the pulled brisket sandwich, I was a little nervous. I never deviate from the pulled pork, but I’m glad I have it a go. It was so good! My dad got the ribs and hot links,(both of which I nabbed a piece of) and the ribs were good. The hot links were awesome, but definitely for someone who likes heat, because It was spicy! Overall, this place is great. The staff and owner were incredibly nice people and the restaurant was clean, tidy, and inviting. Definitely coming back.

Good BBQ eats here — wood smoked, need I say more? The format is similar to what you find in Texas. You order at the counter, get a number, and then sit at a table. It’s far from fast food, but the sitting and ordering process feels that way, which, for the record, is common at Southern BBQ places. The owner, Tom, is a great guy(Clippers fan), he is full of good advice and obviously knows the menu inside out, he can help steer your eating preferences in the right direction. For starters, the onion rings are super good, not super healthy, BUT, super good! I usually get pulled pork when I eat here, and it’s always quality. You can taste the BBQ smoke, and I’ve never found it to be dry. They also have a few beers, which will assuredly add to the experience. If you are feeling like BBQ, this location will hit the spot! This is also a good place to bring kids — FYI. You can also count on Tom to have the television on whatever sporting event is taking place, especially the Clippers game.
