I’m not one to frequent what I like to call«Little Junk Shops,» because I can get crazy in here and buy all kinds of junk, from beef jerky, gum, and candy to chips, donuts, or other pastries, though it takes me forever to eat it all! Though that is me fighting my own demons, everything is always fresh. Nothing is old. Some neighborhood liquor or convenience stores that you go to will sometimes have candy or chips in there that are no longer fresh. I never seem to have that problem with 7-Eleven. Besides that, they have beer, wine, cases of water, all kinds of sodas, iced teas, and energy drinks. They also have small quantities of any emergency items that you may need, such as toilet paper, diapers, wipes, female hygiene items, bath soap and other essentials. Their biggest moneymaker is the coffee! They have so many types from Bold and Colombian to their Exclusive Blend and even Cinnamon. They have all kinds of cream from Vanilla and Hazelnut to Irish Cream, Caramel Macchiato and Almond Joy! It gets really full in here in the mornings and I think the fact that they are located on a prime corner and right where the bus stop is also brings in even more business. There are day laborers that will sit in their cars and trucks in the lot or just stand around, but they are not in the way and they keep to themselves. They also have hot food, such as pizza, breakfast sandwiches, regular hot dogs and bacon wrapped hot dogs. I’ve never tried any of the hot food and don’t think I will, but you know… it’s there if you want it. The store is always clean and surprisingly, the employees are really nice and professional. They are constantly brewing more coffee every time that I go in and always cleaning the counters. Lately, I’ve been stopping to get a cup of coffee since the machine at work is broken and for some reason I’ve been needing coffee every morning, when I usually drink it once in awhile. I do occasionally stop at Starbucks for coffee, but to me, 7-Eleven is cheaper and their lines move very quickly in the mornings. Unless you really need a specialty-type coffee drink, 7-Eleven is a good stand-in. They have two registers and if the line gets long, the employees are good about opening the next register and getting people off to work or whatever their destination may be.

I am one of those strange folks that loves math. I love numbers and I love playing numbers even more. I play a lot of lottery throughout the year and have a system in place where at the end of the year I end up in the positive. I happened to be driving by this 7⁄11 when I observed several of my numbers on license plates, building addresses, time of day and knew I had to stop and play my numbers. This 7⁄11 just happened to be the first place I came across where I could stop. I pulled into this parking lot and found it to be pretty stocked with local transients. The parking lot was dirty which is to be expected, it is located on a major intersection. What I did not expect was the inside of this location to be just as dirty as the outside. There were some shady characters hanging out at this 7⁄11 both inside and out but that did not stop me from using my own pen and filling out some lottery slips. After I finished filling out my slips I did a little walk around and found this location to have the same common items any 7⁄11 has. You could find you beer, wine, water, soda, potato chips, aspirin, ice cream, coffee, prepackaged food and of course the so called ‘fresh’ food they make and sell to what I like to refer to as ‘suckers.’ I say ‘suckers’ tongue & cheek because they is zero probability that I would ever eat anything from 7⁄11 let alone food that is cooked at 7/11, no thank you. I did purchase bottled water from this location while turning in my lottery slips. I found the staff working the register to be nice but they truly need to better job with onsite security & cleanliness both inside and out. If it suits you this location accept EBT cards. The only thing that this 7⁄11 was missing was cast iron bars surrounding it inside and out. Paying a visit to this location kind of reminded me of my time with the Police Department and touring local prisons. If I happened to be passing this location and once again observed lottery numbers I would stop otherwise I would pass up this location and look for a safer place to expose my back to other patrons.

What can you say about a 7 – 11 except Slurpees, good location on corner, snacks that are bad for you and excellent hours for when you need to make a Slurpee run late! Parking lot can get crowded because of orher two business.

Local pick up spot for day laborers, this slurpee joint shares tight parking with a Subway, Hong Kong Express chinese fastfood, a dry cleaners, a Check cashing place and an odd club called Club Zero. Who goes to these places? Certainly not the day laborers. This location just doesn’t give the most safest and friendliest of vibes if you know what I mean, even if it is across the street from a very safe and friendly Mitsuwa Marketplace. Don’t leave your keys in your car with the engine running.
