Great food at an affordable price. The owner is very nice and all the employees are quick and helpful. The platters are huge portions of food. Can easily feed 3 – 4 people.

I heard about this place and so we took a drive to check it out. We ordered the half ribs and half mixed pica for take out. Well, we should have checked the order before we left because one side dish was missing. Very disappointing. The food is OK compared to others we’ve tried. Might check it out again. Maybe.

This place is phenomenal. Food is always delicious and fresh. The portions are huge and for a reasonable price. Only downside is they close way early!

You gotta have their whole or half chicken! It’s got amazing flavor, the only way to make it better is if they made it spicy! If you’ve ever traveled to the UK and ate at Nando’s this is pretty close!
This place is mostly a takeout place, great for catering or taking food home for the family. I’ve had their whole roasted chicken and their ribs. The ribs are fine but their chicken was amazing I’ll be back for more.
As for sides I’ve had their Spanish Fries, potatoes w/​peppers, and black beans. The Potatoes with peppers are great! the Spanish fries are like potato chips (pretty good), their beans aren’t bad but nothing special. It would be nice if they had some more veggie options like macho peas at Nando’s.

Had several meals here and have never been let down. Always super tasty. The rice and potato sides are mouth watering. The vegetable side is always fresh and perfectly cooked. Of course the star of the show is the meat… ribs, shrimp, chicken, wings, all well prepared and have amazing flavor!

These were seriously the best ribs I ever had. Just down the block from us for years and this was the first time I tried them out and was amazed at how delicious the food was. Very generous servings. Best Portuguese BBQ around. We will be back often.

I have also used their catering services and had a great response from guests at my party.
I only wish they had a closer location.

I used Brasas to cater my son’s baptism reception for 20 people and they did a fantastic job. They were courteous and helpful on the phone when I was figuring out what I wanted to order and what time I needed them to deliver. On the day of the baptism party, they were on time, food arrived hot, and everything was delicious. My family is a mix of Haitians and Nigerians and they all praised the food. We especially liked the ribs and the sweet potato fries! Felt like a home-​cooked meal. I would definitely order from here again and highly recommend!

Awesome rotisserie chicken. They use a great sauce on the chicken. Had the half portion, plenty for dinner. For sides I had the roasted potatoes with peppers and onions and the steamed vegetables which was broccolini and carrots. Highly recommended, a hidden gem!

I had always heard about Portuguese barbecue, but have never tried it until today. The meat was cooked perfectly the portions are huge, and the taste is outstanding. Restaurant is clean, The cashier was very helpful. Highly recommend this place. Will become a regular stop for me for lunch/​dinner

I always enjoy food here. My faves are mixed pica dinho, shrimp garlic sauce. Pork sandwich.
Beans are soo good too. I’ve always enjoyed salad but it’s been disappointing lately. Lettuce could be more fresh& chunky not so flat and look more appetizing. It’s only iceberg but it goes along nicely w meal. I’ve been going there since it opened. The staff always friendly.

Tasty Chicken. This place is one of the few places in Toms River that offers decent tasting food. The price is great.

Very good authentic Portuguese food! Reasonable price for HUGE PORTIONS… Always come back here, gets super crowed in the summer, seats are limited, but always come back CUZ the food is that good! My mom always ask me to pick her up a platter, the drive for me is 25 mins but so worth it! Try for yourself

Wow! That’s all that I need to say. The food is out rages and I will definitely be returning.

We placed an order wednesday 7−2−14 @ 6pm. It is now 8pm with no food delivery man in sight. We keep calling and line is busy. We were told an hour for our food! Very poor service!!! Will never order again. We will tell friends and family to stay away. Not even a courtesy call saying your way behind with orders.

Had no idea there was a Portuguese place next door. I have to say it was some top food. My friend and I split the Picadinho and it was super good. You can see over the counter they are slow roasting the meats which they chop up and serve with some pretty good black beans. Guys behind the counter are super cool and (super cute) but seriously, all in all, this is a fantastic little spot with some good, pocket friendly eats.

After a nice hike at Cattus Island, my son and I needed some fortification. Are we glad we saw this place. We split a rack of baby backs and fries. The homemade sauce is fabulous and I slathered it on. Got some to go along with a grilled chicken sandwich for my wife. She demolished it in short order.
The owner was super nice and we chatted a bit during our meal. Told him to keep it up– his place blows away many here in North Jersey.
We will definitely be back.

Very disappointed. Saw the reviews. We ordered and waited and waited. The place is lacking in a woman’s touch. Think prison kitchen. Kind of dirty and lacking in the details that make you want to stay and eat. We took ordered and took the food to go.
The bill for lunch for two came to $ 30. NOT CHEAP!
I ordered the mixed picadinho grill which had chicken, chorizo, and shrimp. There were literally 4 shrimp and they were overcooked and mushy. The chicken was OK. A bit dry but nothing to be excited about.
The «platter» was a big greasy mass of oily potatoes, mixed meats, and mushy french fries that were probably frozen.
We ordered a mixed salad for $ 4.00. I opened it. It was simply iceberg lettuce with onions and NO DRESSING! Even worse, the lettuce was rotten! It was grey and slimy. GROSS.
We won’t go back. The stars you see on Unilocal are ridiculous. Who rates this place so highly? Are we even talking about the same place.
Most of the food went in the trash. No lie. It was that bad. The only reason I’m not giving it one star is the chorizo sandwich we ordered was edible. It was the only thing that we actually ate.
