We came here for lunch on a Sunday while visiting Tombstone. The restaurant was busy and the wait to get a table for our party of three was long, about 45 minutes. While we were waiting, a worker came out to erase the pulled pork sandwich special from the chalkboard outside because they had run out. Not a big deal for me, but there were other people who were waiting that seemed to have only stopped there for that item. As soon as we were seated, I heard an exasperated worker tell another worker that they were all out of chips. Also not a big deal for me as I probably wasn’t going to order any chips. I ordered the patty melt and a side of fries. The fries do not come with the burgers or sandwiches, so you have to order them as a side. The food was good and came out hot and fresh. Not a bad place to dine at, but they probably could benefit from being a little bit more organized. It seemed like they weren’t prepared to have as many customers as they did that day.

We couldn’t wait to have breakfast at Brenda’s! Unilocal has made our decision making so much easier when we travel! There are literally 32 seats inside Brenda’s. Majority of the tables are 4 tops &22tops. We arrived by 7:30am on Saturday morning & just a few locals dining. The blonde hostess(our server also) was just as friendly as can be. Her warm smile– just welcomed you. Wish I remembered her name. I ordered the special, hamburger steak, w/toast, & hash browns($ 9.95) & side of bacon. Man! I was glad I ordered my side of bacon, because I knew hubby didn’t wanna share a pinch of his w/me! Previous Unilocal posts weren’t lying! Bacon at Brenda’s is outta this world! Seriously! Not even Cracker Barrel can compare! I’m just saying! And the hash browns! Weren’t greasy ATALL! They were just fluffy & soft! Well cooked! Since I didn’t want the toast– I was able to substitute for a biscuit & tracy! Whew! And I’m glad I did! I just wanted to lick the gravy left on my plate! Hubby ordered a pancake breakfast w/egg & bacon. He loved his meal. Our total bill– w/o tip was below $ 20. If we ever came back to Tombstone, I wouldn’t hesitate to return back to Brenda’s Chuckwagon.

Great ingredients and great service! We went in at the peak of the lunch rush and got some good food. It’s not outstanding, have no doubt — but considering your options in tombstone, this is more than adequate fair. The bacon in the blt and the bacon ranch burger were delicious.

Just had breakfast here and lets see, the sausage omelette I had was nasty. The sausage was burnt and the omelette was greasy! I didn’t think someone could screw up breakfast but I was dead wrong in that.

Nice little hole in the wall in Tombstone. Small menu, but better-than average diner-esque grub. After a long drive from Phoenix to this historic town, this is quality comfort food in a place that gets it right.

Best lunch ever! Wonderful atmosphere, delicious burgers, great service and a real friendly gunslinger owner… What more can one ask for?

I will admit, a tiny«greasy spoon» short-order diner like this wouldn’t normally score 5 stars, no matter how good it was(I save that for the best of the best places I’ve ever eaten.) However, Brenda’s is so vastly above and beyond the other food places in Tombstone, I figured the rating is earned. They make their food as you order it, they aren’t just reheating pre-cooked food. You order it, the cook(s) in the back whip it up quickly. The food is GOOD. Simple burgers, hot dogs, biscuits and gravy to be sure, but it’s all really GOOD. The service is also fantastic, very friendly, quick, efficient, and attentive. Bonus points for the(if I’m not mistaken) Ruger LCR in the bejeweled holster one waitress carries with her.(I love Arizona!) You can tell it’s good because of all the locals eating there.

Was stopped on the streets of Tombstone by the owner, Brenda, and told to try her place as it was the best in town. At 12:30 in the afternoon we show up to a closed sign on the door with the employees just inside. I asked«Are you closed?» Was told«Yes, we were told to close as it wasn’t busy.» Who closes an eating establishment at noon when one could potentially have customers. We won’t try it again. Very bad business ethics.

Overall, the burger and fries was good. The issue was the amount of flies in the restaurant and the fact there was no soap in the restroom. Pretty gross from that standpoint.

It was the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. First, off the waiter spilled iced tea down the back of my shirt, and he did not offer to dry my shirt or chair off. I was with a large party of 10 people, and after ordering our lunch, they ran out of potato salad, and bacon, so the group had to wait for the manager to go to the store and buy bacon for our meals. After getting our food most of the orders had the wrong bread on the order, and the female waitress berated the waiter in front of our group. Very unprofessional! One of our group members was tired of waiting so he left, and when the bill came the manager apologized to us for the poor service. The food was okay, but definitely not a place will return to, and lastly we were fighting off flies the entire time we were trying to eat our food.

There really wasn’t a lot of places worth stopping to eat along the corridor between Tucson and Tombstone. Therefore, we opted to wait until we got to this town before having lunch. We had several choices, but we opted for Brenda’s Chuckwagon restaurant because it was right by the Gunfight Arena and the Trolley tour. And after having been on the road all the way from Phoenix without breakfast, we were ready to «chow down» in this old western town. And we were definitely not disappointed. We both had the Chuck Burgers(Angus Beef) that were just meaty and delicious, and they didn’t skimp on the fries, either. The burger was actually considerably bigger than the hamburger buns, and the addition of the ham and bacon layered with the cheese just sealed the deal for us! The service was prompt, and everyone in there; including all the tourist were just so courteous. There was a large party that came in that wanted to sit together, but none of the larger tables were available. So, we all pitched in and moved to the smaller tables, moved the larger tables together so that the party could stay with their group. And because we were all closer together in seating, we got to meet and converse with just a myriad of very nice and friendly people. We made such a great community in just a short period of time, in a rather small dining establishment. It was simply a wonderful dining experience, in spite of the heat!

We went there for lunch — we ordered a chicken sandwich and a lunch special(chicken salad sandwich). The chicken sandwich had one small thin lettuce leaf and one slice of tomato for the entire sandwich– no mayo no mustard. Chicken salad sandwich– took one bite and got tendon, second bite — more tendon. Lost my appetite! We had water and a sprite — waitress never offered a refill. In our opinion, no service and the food was not good.

Brenda’s was your basic food little place. We were hungry when we arrived, and this was the first place we saw. It was a little warm inside, but so were the waitresses. They were very nice to everyone, accommodating and very efficient. They were great waitresses. I have nothing bad to say about the food. We ordered Chili, Hamburgers and Grilled Cheese. The chili was very good and tasty. The hamburgers and grilled cheese were… hamburgers and grilled cheese. Its a good place to stop and eat.

This was a fun place with decent food. The staff was nice and super accommodating. They have a mini golf course, jail & gumshoe out back. Definitely worth checking out. We had breakfast.

The place is clean but aside from that, I can’t really say it was anything special. If you’re hungry and you need something to eat and you absolutely need to eat then go here. Otherwise, wait till you’re out of Toombstone. Chili had way too much tomato sauce, chicken sandwich was edible and ham sandwich was a ham sandwich. I ate all my lays chips and I don’t normally eat chips.

Recommended by our hotel owner we took a short walk to the café for breakfast. Good menu selection and coffee kept coming. Realistically you can’t go wrong with breakfast menus that have eggs, bacon, sausage or pancakes on the menu. My wife had the short stack and I had the meat/egg omelette. Both were good but not outstanding. Typical breakfast fare if you are looking for a typical breakfast.

We came with our dogs, and they were very accommodating. They allowed us to sit on the patio, and even brought out a bowl of water for the dogs. Very nice people. However, the food was just alright. We came for lunch, but I’ve heard they are more known for their breakfast, so that might have something to do with it.
