Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

We asked for a recommendation on wine and were very specific about notes we wanted, got steered toward a $ 20 bottle. Not too bad except we get home and find the wine tastes nothing like what we asked for. Gahh!
The store is clean, well laid out, and offers a decent although not extensive offering of wine, liquor, cheeses, meats, snacks, etc. The staffer who helped us out was really personable and warm. We were offered a range of prices, but were told that this particular bottle was exactly what we wanted. Typical Specs fare/​friendliness, but not the typical Specs spot on recommendations.
Nice store overall. The cashier was nice and packed the bottles we bought with care. This was a better experience than I’m used to.
It’s in a shopping center so there’s easy access, plenty of parking and thrift stores nearby. I mean date night/​girls night outfit and wine? Just saying…

The selection here is huge! I came to buy some whiskey for my sister and they had an entire aisle of whiskey. Geez Louise!
The workers are very friendly and will help you find anything.
There is even a military discount!

It’s a run-​of-​the-​mill Spec’s: if you’ve seen one~ you’ve seen them all.
The differences between these locations varies in friendliness of the staff and how well stocked the shelves are.
I’ve become pretty familar with my Spec’s around the corner and have never walked in the store without being greeted with a smile and an enthusiastic, «Welcome!»
They’ve even made jokes about my generiosity towards my roommate when I pay for both our choices.
The store is always organized and clean, the restrooms included.
Some of the best selections in Tomball can always be found fully stocked in these coolers~ and nothings more important on a beer run than the store having your beverage of choice.

Older never updated store… this is just a liquor store period… if you’re used to the Downtown Houston location any of the newer locations in/​around Houston or Austin be prepared for disspointment. Nothing special or spectacular here at all. Selection isn’t all that great. They are clearly still catering to the Tomball demographic of 20 – 30 years ago.
With the opening of the store at 249 and Spring Cypress {about 10 min closer to town} that this location even ramains open. I am amazed with all the new shopping centers that went in to Tomball a couple of years ago Spec’s expansion team didn’t jump on making a new location.
