Untamed Salon

I started going to Untamed Salon within a few months of the business opening due to a Groupon coupon. Alicia has been my stylist from the beginning. She is a genius with color. She was able to do what no other salon has ever accomplished with my color. She mixed four different colors together to accomplish a completely natural, beautiful color that I absolutely love! It doesn’t take any time for me to adjust to it. It is perfect when I walk out the door.
Untamed Salon reminds me of one of those old fashioned salons where women gather and talk and is very comfortable. It isn’t just a hair salon. It is a social gathering. It is fun. When you are there, there is a sense of warmth, of caring. Alicia and her sister and co-​owner Lauren really care about you and making sure you are happy with your experience. Debbi and Jeri Lyn are also excellent. I have never witnessed them turn away a client or tell a client they are too busy. They are extremely accommodating and flexible with accepting and changing same day appointments. If a client isn’t satisfied with something, they will do whatever they can to make sure they that the client is happy in the end, even if the client has to come back again. It is a very family oriented atmosphere, as children often accompany their parents or are clients themselves. I always leave there with a sense of well-​being, and feeling better than when I went.

Jeri Lyn did a fantastic job with my haircut, and for only $ 20! Fabulous! I love their washing sinks, very cozy.

I’ve recently moved here from Florida and I needed to find someone to do my hair. I took my advice from Unilocal and made an appointment with Alicia. The salon is nicely decorated. Everyone was friendly and it was a relaxed environment. For my hair I always get high and low lights. Alicia picked the perfect colors for me and I am so pleased with the way my hair looks! The colors are great and my hair feels soft. I will definitely be going back.

Alcoa and Lauren have the friendliest salon in town. Alicia does the best color I’ve ever seen. Her products are ammonia free and don’t damage the hair. We love it here!

I really like this salon. I have had my hair highlighted twice, a couple of cuts as well as having my brows shaped/​waxed. The only reason I am giving them a 4 instead of 5 stars is because the bright bit of color I had put in my daughters hair washed out in two days. I’m not sure if it’s because they didn’t bleach her hair first or if they used a bad batch of dye because my red low lights are still visible months later. Good pricing, clean salon, kind employees. My new go to salon.

I came in for the first time yesterday after experiencing being literally ignored at my friend’s salon. Even though we gave them no notice, they let us walk in and get cuts right away. I wasn’t sure what I wanted — maybe a trim? But the woman got really excited and told me about how she thought she could cut my hair so it would look a little better and asked me if I wanted to try it. I did and really like the shape of my new haircut. I haven’t ever really had a style but she noticed that it needed something else and was honest enough but gentle in telling me how she could really improve my look. I really also thought this salon was really cute and modern inside. Cuts were also pretty cheap too! I love it and we’ll probably both be back.
The only reason I can’t offer a 5 star review is because although the girls were friendly, it was a little unprofessional and uncomfortable to be sitting amongst the drama and gossip of other customers. It sort of made me feel like I’d also be targeted for gossip once I left. Otherwise, I really liked this salon.

I travel the country for a living, and you can imagine my caution when it comes to finding someone to do a cut and color as I’m on the road, always in a new city. A few weeks ago I had my hair cut and colored at a beauty school in Phoenix, AZ (first and last time I’ll ever do that) and I ended up looking and feeling terrible after the weird brown color set in! (I came in to have my roots touched up, and my blonde highlights refreshed a bit) Not to mention the uneven cut she gave me. (I have curly hair, she gave me short (ish) bangs that were completely out of control. It looked a mess!)
I ended up in Toledo, OH for work soon after my beauty school hair disaster, and I feverishly began looking for help!
I called Untamed and was given an appointment for the same evening with Alicia. She couldn’t have been a better stylist! She listened to all of my needs and she was such a sweetheart! She took the muddy brown color I was left with, and made it the perfect shade of blonde– exactly what I wanted! She also cleaned up my crazy cut! Throughout the entire appointment she made great conversation, and the overall vibe at the salon is so relaxed! I live 4 hours from Untamed, and it would definitely be worth it to make the drive back to have Alicia do my hair again! I left Untamed feeling confident and beautiful, which is exactly how every woman should feel after going to the salon!

Expert, top notch hair salon at prices about the same as those low cost national places.

I purchased a Groupon originally intended for a conditioning treatment, cut, full color and style. Groupons can be pretty scary gambles sometimes and when you’re messing with your long locks it can be even more so! But these girls have a customer for life. The shop is conveniently located in the middle of town. The prices with (and without!) Groupons fit my budget perfectly. The inside of the shop is absolutely beautiful and you can’t help but be impressed when you learn the sisters that own the shop designed the whole thing. Even more shocking is the fact that the shop has been open LESS THAN A YEAR! They are booked with appointments every time I come in and have a steady stream of loyal customers and have accomplished a successful salon in less than 6 months from opening their doors.
Okay, now on to the good stuff. The owners are two sisters who have been doing hair for years, but this is their first business owner prospect. I would have never guessed that they were new business owners. They are accommodating, friendly and professional. I typically dye my hair a vibrant shade of red… and I am, like most women, VERY particular about it. The first visit we decided to try to transition me from red into an auburn ombré. I was petrified! I stuck it out and let me tell you… my ombré looked AMAZING. The color lasted for ages. I eventually returned for a root touch up, but none of my red needed refreshed like it typically would. The products they use have lasted longer and made my hair seem healthier than any other salon I’ve visited yet. I have since had 4 visits to this salon since last January and every time I am absolutely thrilled with the results. They are especially talented with color and love to experiment. If you want something different than what comes out, they are determined to make sure you’re happy when you leave.
