Service was good. I didn’t think that the pizza was great. That is my opinion of course. You should definitely try it at least once. People are different. I like a thicker crust

Well after all the years of going to Elbo Room, I am no longer a customer. I used to eat there strictly for the amazing pizza and the last time I went there, I noticed that they had changed their signature sauce. I ate it because I didn’t want to waste my money, but it was not good at all. My parents(who have been eating their pizza since they opened!) also noticed the same thing. They addressed it with the waitress and she indicated that they have 2 different kinds of sauces. Huh? Long story short… we will NOT be going back at all unless the sauce is changed back to the original.

I cannot put my finger on it. The crust is as others have said… light, buttery, and flaky. Sauce had a full flavor but not taken over with Italian spices. Definitely unique. The service was good at the bar. They had Yukon Jack and we had a drink while waiting for our order to go. Staff was friendly, even those not waiting on us directly. We liked the Pizza so much after one piece in the car we ate the whole pie even though we just had Thai food one half hour earlier and was taking this pie home for later. I wonder what their pasta dishes tastes like??? We like it.

Why would you go anywhere else in Toledo for pizza? This is the greatest little dive pizza joint in this area. It was redecorated by the new owners but luckily the pizza taste exactly the same.

UNFORTUNATELY, the previous owners of the Elbo Room have died. FORTUNATELY, they did NOT take their pizza recipe, with them, to the grave. The décor of the Elbo Room no longer has that kitschy charm that it did, but atmosphere was never the reason I ate there. The service is a bit inattentive, but being waited on hand and foot was never the reason I ate there. The beer selection is average-to-poor, but beer was never the reason I ate there. PIZZA: There may be other items on the menu, but I couldn’t begin to tell you what they are, or how they taste. For me, the Elbo Room is about the pizza, the whole pizza, and nothing but the pizza. I love it. Sui generis. Bit of advice: Make sure they cut the pizza all the way through.(Due to the nature of the crust, it’s difficult to eat if they don’t). Check out my previous review for more on the crust and the sauce. BTW, to be fair with respect to the beer and the service… They do have Yuengling draught, which I think is a very serviceable lager that hits the spot nicely. ALSO, I think the kitchen and the waitresses were a little overwhelmed by to very large grand re-opening crowd; I think service will improve over the next few weeks. This place is, deservedly, a Toledo institution.

Great local Toledo establishment. We are in town 2 – 3 times per year and always stop by for their pizza. Buttery, thin, flaky crust with a very unusual sauce. One of my favorites! I would love to have the recipe to make at home!

A great place to grab a bite and drink. The staff are great people, Fred makes bomb drinks, and the pizza is awesome. Give it a try.

I have been eating Elbo Room pizza for years, pretty much every Saturday night I pick up one of their excellent thin/thin crust pizzas. They are outstanding; I have never had anything but an excellent pizza from the Elbo Room. Also, I eat out on a daily basis as part of both my job and my lifestyle, and in my experience the Elbo Room is just outstanding.

We used to eat here a couple times a month. Loved there pizza but a few weeks ago we were in there and and they had baked a chicken wing bone in my pizza! Needless to say we will not be going back. I would defianitly not recommend eating here.

I had gone here intermittantly over the years. My first time, I was skeptical over the thin pie crust pizza. Time would go by and I’d get a crave for this very unique«Toledo Style Pizza» This last visit, I was underwhelmed. It seemed that they should have cooked the pizza a little longer in the oven and make the crust just a bit crispier. They do have a full menu and a brown bar with a few beers on tap. This is an old Toledo establishment that used to be on Sylvania Ave. The bar is from the original place. Give it a try! It’s not a corporate chain.
