Awesome food, dosas are my favorite! Much better then any of the indian restaurants around, very authentic too

This is the best comfort food made with love by the owner who has greeted me by name for years. The food is always made fresh so it doesn’t sit or have large amounts of fatty oils like some Indian restaurants do. The perfect place to pick up to go food from the deli, it can get busy I call ahead. The dosas are freshly made and take a ½ hr to make. They also make their own amazing, creamy yogurt here. It’s the best I’ve ever had in my life, they use it in the mango lassis and raita. Revati makes the best samosas, dosas, all filled with potatoes. They’re flavored with onions, curry, ginger, and mustard seeds. She also makes another snack called masala vadas spicy jalapeño, ginger lentil patties fried in butter ghee bliss. The dal is seasonal she makes mango dal, tomato dal, spinach dal and my fav cucumber dal. It’s so amazing she mixes her own spice blends and uses this to sprinkle on her raita the cucumber, cilantro, tomato, onion, yogurt dish that is the cooling food (after all your curry.) I won’t lie I may have licked the lid of the to go container. The saffron lemon rice with peanuts is the perfect texture to accompany any main dishes. I choose palak paneer, dal, and chole. The most amazing, memorable Indian food in Toledo.

Food here is awesome and service too. Today I brought indian spices from this store those are awesome and the prices are reasonable!!!

I absolutely love the samosas here, as someone who now lives in Chicago near little India whenever I come back these are still up to par as some of the best I’ve had

The food here is delicious and healthy! They just need more business. It is a local operation and the staff are kind. Please go here – order a five choice meal and try as many dishes as you can. Any vegetarian curry, dal, korma, or paneer is a great pick, and I believe their non-​vegetarian options are popular as well (I would not know). Their raita is wonderful, the roti is a bit stuff but still fine, and the naan is wonderful. Don’t forget a lassi. We saw two women at an adjacent table eating «dosa», which I guess I will have to try next time I’m there. This is perfect for nights when you don’t want to cook but want delicious Indian food – it will keep you full all evening even if you eat in the late afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone!

The food here is flavorful, delicious and healthy. Unlike other Indian restaurants, Deepam does not use heavy oils and creams in its food. In addition, the female owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Deepam India also features ethnic groceries. The restaurant is always clean and the food fresh.

I’m a big fan of indian cuisine but sadly don’t find myself getting the chance to eat it very often. My best friend drives around the city for work and often brags about all of the indian food he eats. This makes me incredibly jealous.
How would I describe Deepam India in two words? Fresh and delicious.
Mind you, this isn’t a sit down restaurant though of course you can eat there if you’d like. This is a smallish indian grocery /​carryout with a large deli case filled with homemade entrees and sides.
There are always women in the back open kitchen, cooking up dishes and if you ask nicely they’ll make you some fresh bread to take home.
The service is quite friendly, and shopping there feels a bit exotic. It’s rare I visit, but any time I’m in that part of town I try to swing by.

The food is AMAZING! I tried the chole and cabbage and carrots, and I can’t wait to go back to get more. I eat a lot of Indian food, and I have to say this place is really good!

Poor service is my reason for my low rating. I went in with a Groupon ready to get the lamb curry (one of my favorite dishes); however was told I could not apply my Groupon towards that (though they never specified in the fine print that there was any dishes excluded from this offer). I returned my Groupon and will most likely never try this restaurant in the future, which is a disappointment since they were so close to my home.

I love Deepam! The food is delicious and the owner is so nice! Definitely try the Samosas and Masala Dosa! Yummm!

Great food! The selection is somewhat limited, but almost everything I’ve tried (chicken and vegetarian items) is very flavorful. Most items are at least *a little* spicy, even if the owner says they’re not. :-) You can eat there, but this is mostly just a take-​out place and grocery.
