We have been here three times and have had a terrific experience each time. The location is fairly convenient on Central Ave. in Sylvania Township although it is a little difficult to spot until you are nearly on top of it. The facility is relatively nice. The storefront is decent while the interior is rather pleasant with agreeable décor. The service has been solid all three times we have visited. The menu offers several Mediterranean favorites with many tasty options. The portions are very generous and the food is excellent. On each occasion, we had a family meal which included a huge plate of various types of meat and several sides. For groups of three or four or more, it is a pretty good deal. On our last visit, our hefty platter was $ 60 and fed six. After drinks, tip and tax, the total cost was $ 84. At $ 14 per person, it was a very good bargain. This is especially true considering the fact that there was enough left over to take home for another meal or two. Based on my experiences with this establishment, I would not hesitate to recommend it for dinner if you are in the area and enjoy Mediterranean cuisine.

Family owned, very friendly service and service as well. The fatoush salad was delicious as well as the garlic sauce. The chicken swarma was so, so. Overall, I am joyed the food and not experience. The value of the place was also nice. Prices were in line with the choices and the quality. Nice job. Oh yes, I finished it off with the coconut cake which I don’t think his room and I was, but was delicious.

Two of the three meals we ordered were fine. The side salads were large and came with Greek dressing, but did not have any feta, which would have made a small positive difference. The entrees were portioned well. No complaints. The third dish we ordered was a shish kabob sandwich that was inedible. Apparently, the regular chef called in sick and my mother, who ordered the sandwich, received a soggy mess of pita filled with what looked like almost a cup of hummus, vegetables that were a mess, and 5 pieces of meat that had to be fished out of the hummus. When told about it, the waitress admitted the kitchen made a mistake and said, «Our bad» but still charged us for the mess. Apparently, the regular chef was sick, so they had two workers in the kitchen, and both applied hummus to the sandwich. I asked for a discount. Clearly not happy about it, she had to go talk to the manager, who came over, asked what was going on, and offered to take it off the bill. He couldn’t because it was a credit card, so he gave me a partial refund in cash. He did say the regular chef was sick and confirmed that an error in the kitchen occurred. I understand that mistakes happen, but I cannot imagine how a place can even charge a person for a mistake made by the kitchen. Despite the fact that two of our meals were fine, I won’t be going back. You should not have to argue with a waitress so that you are not charged for the kitchen’s mistake. One other complaint: they offer a special three course menu, which really just amounts to a free piece of baklava, but you have to ask for the menu. Why not just give people the menu when they arrive? It was an unnecessary waste of time. If you don’t want people ordering a special, then don’t offer it.

Delicious! Great middle eastern food and very reasonable prices — they even have a $ 103-course special. I got the hummus, kafta kabob, and lentil soup. The lentil soup is one of the best I’ve had — thick and savory. The hummus is amazing — some hummus has too much garlic but this is just the right mixture.

Been there three times now and each time has been very good. They have pita as the bread, with oil and an herb I can’t remember the name of. The wife and I eat more than we should before the meal comes. The salad is basic, but fresh ingredients, and the dressing is quite good. I’ve had the Gyro twice now and love it. It is quite large, and unlike some others has good mix of it’s ingredients through out the whole Gyro. I don’t like those where you get bites of nothing but meat and pita, or just the lettuce. And there is a lot of the sauce on it too. Plus they have a $ 10 deal going on Mon-Thur which is a great value as the portions are so large. This place is much better than Grape Leaf.

What an improvement on the corner of Central & King! I went there when it was limping along as Al-Saher…it took a coupon to get me back there as Bloudan. Pita with olive oil & zattar is offered as you are seated. We ordered a meza platter to start. It was a delicious mix of falafel patties(wish there were more), fatoosh, hummus, & tabooleh. The lentil soup was warming & flavorful. Entrees are Mediterranean staples. The gyro was one of the best I’ve ever had! The tzaziki sauce I nearly ate with a spoon. The galaba is a stir-fry style dish that had excellent flavor & texture… veggies done right!

Terrific Home-cooked Mediterranean food. I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and know my food. This place is a gem. The food has quality, quantity and the service is exceptional. I especially liked the selection of wines they have which accentuates the experience. The restaurant has class and we are always welcomed by the smiling owners. They also have a French chef who is fantastic and makes one of the best Crème Bruele’s this side of the Atlantic. Dont miss this restaurant and a great add to the Toledo gastronomic scene(much needed)

Best service I’ve had in Toledo. Great food at great prices. I usually have the Hummous Shawarma. I came here for a Groupon but have come back several times since.

The food is good, not the Beirut or Byblos but it is good. The grape leaves were great, as was the garlic sauce. It had a lemon taste to it which I liked. I do prefer hummus to be the whipped creamy type, the type served here is more grainy if you know what I mean. I also prefer white rice with the small noodles and this restaurant only has yellow rice which I did not care for.

What was once el saher has been transformed into mediocrity. The food is ok. The drinks are way overpriced.. And the décor is lacking except for the good looking owner. What’s not good looking is the tacky mural or the owners gf rubbing her fingers through his hair at the bar. Professionalism lacking

After several visits, I am very impressed with Bloudan. FOOD: The food is, in a word, outstanding. In my opinion, Bloudan has the best kafta in the city, bar none. It’s perfectly spiced and perfectly cooked. The cucumber mint yogurt dipping sauce provides the proverbial icing on the proverbial cake! The gyro meat? Excellent, even by my Hellenic standards :) Shish Tawook? Uniquely flavored. IMO, it’s better than the chicken kabobs offered by either The Beirut or the Grape Leaf Diner, and that’s saying something. The hummus was better than average, but it didn’t quite measure up to the hummus from The Beirut. The garlic spread and the grape leaves were about average. DRINKS: They have a FULLBAR. I haven’t tried any adult beverages yet, but I plan to. They also have a relatively small selection of bottled beer(Stellaaaaaa!) and a similarly small selection of wine. ATMOSPHERE: Clean and Comfortable.(Ya know, you can really dress up a strip mall restaurant just by putting up some drapes!) I haven’t dined in yet, but the waiting area is equipped with a nice comfortable leather couch. The fish tank, and the Christmas tree(apparently, the village of Bloudan, Syria is predominantly Christian), add to the homey feel, at least for me. SERVICE: Again, I haven’t dined in yet, but the staff I encountered was very friendly, and my take out orders come out pretty quick. Although Toledo has a plethora of Middle Eastern places, and many of those are excellent, this one stands out in the crowd. I’d put it in the top three or four in the city. Let’s see how well Bloudan stands the test of time.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was empty. Our waitress was friendly and the service was great. We had the chicken shawarma sandwich, beef/lamb gyro sandwich, hummus, and fries. The flavors of the food were great, though the construction of the gyro left something to desired. The taziki sauce was all piled at the open end of the gyro and there were some rather larger pieces of very strong onion inside the gyro. I also feel like the seasoned fries should have been tossed with seasoning, instead of just having some seasoning sprinkled on top. So why only 2 stars, you ask? Good food, good service, fairly nice décor, what could be wrong? For the first 10 minutes we were in the otherwise quiet restaurant(alone, except for employees), we had to listen to the owner berate/publicly shame one of his waitresses. I understand if you need to discipline one of your employees, but it should be done in a private place, not behind the bar, 15 feet from your only customers. This just really set a bad mood for the meal. So the waitstaff and cooks should keep up the good work, while the owner may want to take a management course or two.

Great food. Great service. Typically we do carry out and the food is always fresh and tasty. We have tried pretty much more than 70% of the menu so far and have not been disappointed.

This place is very overpriced. The restaurant itself is nice, but the food is below average. I had to pay $ 10 for a fattoush with chicken, which consisted of an underseasoned dressing, what appeared to be bagged salad and underripe tomatoes, and chicken so dry that it could have been jerky. I asked for a little more dressing to help choke down the dry chicken and they tried to up charge me $.75! No thanks! The person eating with me got the kafta kabob plate. The kafta was decent, but on the dry side and the vegetables were not good at all. The tomatoes appeared to be frozen at some point, were hard, and not ripe at all and so on. The french fries were frozen bagged fries that were soggy and flimsy. The price for that was like ~$ 15 for average kafta, poor quality vegetables, soggy fries, and yellow rice! There are a zillion better Lebanese/Mediterranean/Middle Eastern options in Toledo that won’t are actually fairly priced. I can think of 2 within about a mile of this place. It wouldn’t be as bad if it wasn’t so overpriced, but it would still be average food.
