Egg & I serves up excellent breakfast meals on a consistent basis. Service is first rate — friendly and quick. They offer a tasty bold roast coffee and I leave the coffee pot on the table. There’s always a decent crowd, but we have never had to wait for a table or booth, even on Saturday mornings. Omelets, skillets, pancakes, waffles… whatever. Outstanding!

Always had awesome food and coffee here. I appreciate that they leave the coffee carafe with you so you don’t need to wait for a warm up. I’ve been here literally 35 minutes before they closed and still got the same wonderful food and service! Definitely my go to spot!

Half an hour after I placed my order on a slow Sunday morning, the slow paced waiter informed me they ran out of steak and bacon… The 2 main items in my order. I knew I shouldn’t have tried my luck at a breakfast joint

I was disappointed I wasted my breakfast experience on this. My boyfriend ordered scrambled eggs it was so watery it spilled on the table as we were being serviced. I ordered the NEWDISH eggs benedict with avocado and pepperjack cheese — first there was no cheese on it at all. Second instead of putting it on an English muffin for a crunchy bite with the egg they put it on a wheat pancake — so it was a sloppy mushy mess — it was disgusting — I had a discard pile on my plate. The waitress was so busy gossiping with coworkers and the next table she forgot the side of toast because she was more concerned with gossiping with coworkers I ordered and then 5 minutes later came back to the table asking«was there something you asked for that I forgot» and I had to ask for the toast again. Another 5 minutes I actually got it at the point I was more full and didn’t eat much of it. My boyfriend had to ask for water, which never came — we just left. Terrible experience — will never go back in this place.

Stopped in here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 9:30 am. Not crowded in the least. We were quickly seated and informed that ‘Peggy’ would be right with us. Well Peggy did not show up for at least ten minutes… I saw her standing by the kitchen staring at us… when she noticed me looking back she finally came to the table. With no apology for the wait, she proceeded to take our order. Okay, fine. I, of course ordered coffee and we were still waiting for water. And we waited. And waited. By now I was exasperated, we had been there 15 minutes and still did not have water, not to mention coffee. She finally reappeared… only to work the register. We watched for about five minutes as she completely ignored us. Honestly, it seemed as though she was going out of her way to be rude to us. By now we had been there 20 minutes, finally we told her we were leaving and she did not bat an eye, telling us to ‘have a nice day’. I have no idea why we were treated so rudely, we finally stopped at Eggcetera on 191st where we were served quickly, given huge glasses of water, our food arrived piping hot no more that 10 minutes after we arrived. In summary, I have no idea what the food is like at The Egg and I, and I probably never will as I don’t plan on returning. Rudeness of this magnitude is appalling. I don’t know what the waitresses problem was, she seemed experienced, I had never seen her before in my life, yet she seemed hellbent on being rude to us. I see a lot of good reviews for this place, so maybe my experience was a fluke, but its one I’ll remember for a long time.

Recently added this place to our weekly breakfast rotation. It has quickly become our new favorite. As good as EggHeadz, but without the wait on weekends. Excellent service, the food is delicious, and they serve a variety of coffees… and leave the pot on your table.

Went in here while waiting for a clinic appointment. Service was great and the food I would say was better than your normal greasy breakfast joint, very tasty. The bathrooms had lotion for you to use too. Had the chicken cordon blue skillet and the ranch potatoes were tasty.

I like this place for breakfast in the area. I have never waited long, but it does get busy. Great menu and food quality is excellent. I actually have ordered lunch here a couple times. I love the apple, walnut chicken salad and the fries are excellent! I recommend this place and like to come here on the weekend when I am in the area.

After waiting fifteen minutes while tables sat empty we were finally seated. We ordered right away and waited 20 minutes for our omelettes. The potatoes and toast were ice cold and the omelette was steaming hot. Fresh out of the microwave from a reheat job. Waitress offered nothing. Manager said«too bad. Sorry». Was a once or twice a week customer. Now need a new place.

I love this place. I’m not sure why the poor reviews. I have had three breakfasts and all were very good. I like that a pot of coffee is left at your table, good service.

It’s a Tuesday at 9am. It’s quiet and there are plenty of booths available. The staff is very friendly so far. The waitresses that aren’t busy with customers are keeping busy wiping tables, lights, pictures and decorations. They seem to be very attentive to keeping everything clean and stocked at each table. Peggy was quick to notice that my menu was closed and I was ready to order. I ordered the corn beef hash skillet. It comes with two eggs and a side of hollandaise sauce. It seems that more people are starting to come into the restaurant now. My food is delivered by a different smiling waitress and she asked me if I need anything else. Everything is just the way I wanted it. Shortly after finishing my meal, my waitress Peggy notices and delivers my bill. I give this place a 5-star review because everything went well and tasted delicious. If I am able to make a return visit and I have a different experience I will change my rating. I have seen some negative reviews that only gave this restaurant one or two stars. I believe they were here on a Saturday or Sunday. I also believe that one of them said they don’t eat breakfast or like eating at breakfast places. I can also assume that some of the negative reviews came from customers that are not morning people. I thought there were plenty of menu options. If the menu doesn’t have something exactly the way you want it may be ask to make a change. If you experienced a long wait on a weekend it may be because of the Harley Davidson dealership next door or the two hotels down the block. Then again if it’s the weekend you should expect to wait a little bit longer. I look forward to stopping here again on my next visit to the area.

My daughter and I stopped for breakfast, I didn’t know what to expect. The place is clean and was greeted with a smile. I really like this place, its definitely a family restaurant. The food is good and good customer service.

The menu is lacking and the food is overpriced. It is VERY crowded on Sundays, with no waiting area. Everyone just crowds by the door. Could be a fire hazard. I ordered oatmeal, and there was a booger that was caked on to the side of my dish. They could do better at dishes, because that was disgusting. The staff is very friendly and give excellent service. Bad food for a high price. However, you do get good service, so that is appreciated. Blackberries was better. I miss the potato pancakes.

Scrambled eggs are really good. This is your typical breakfast place. Nothing special but nothing bad either.

Went here for breakfast with my daughter. I got the sausage and cheese omelet and she got a waffle(it was huge) and we both enjoyed our breakfast. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Will go back again if in the area.

I enjoy going out to breakfast and this was a place we hadn’t tried before. That can’t be, gotta check it out. Service could have been faster but the food was quite good. I had a steak skillet which was really good. Nice and hot with great presentation and variety. Steak and eggs done fancy, I’ll eat that. And I did. And I will again. We’ll be back.

My rating is more based on what they didn’t have/didn’t do versus what they did. The good: I enjoyed my scrambler. Decent portion(not too much, not too little), 2 sausage patties, ample toast. The meh: The coffee The bad/didn’t have: 1. Each of the five kids with us, ages 5 through 9, got the chocolate chip pancakes. I’m sorry. Make that singular — they each got one pancake. Needless to say, 3 of the 5 kids were still hungry after their posts were cleaned and wanted more food. Even my 5 year old probably could have eaten more. 2. Milk. No refills. Really? Maybe with some milk refills the kids wouldn’t have been hungry. 3. There was no butter at the(large) table. All in all, rather underwhelmed and will be skipping here the next time I have a choice of a breakfast meeting spot

they paid to use the name Egg & I because egg & I has a good name in the area. still difficult when you come in, there is no waiting area. tables are over crowed, you might as well just have one large table they are so near each other. won’t go back

Although the service was good they could have had another server on for a Sunday morning. The two girls there were running around and could have used more help. The food was fair. Nothing extremely special. My husband and I actually had upset stomachs the rest of the day. Would not go back again.

This used to be the old Blackberry restaurant. We really loved the corned beef hash. Too bad it’s gone now. The Egg & I is typical of restaurants of this type. Service was friendly. Food wasn’t anything to rave about. It’s filling but seems to be something missing. I try to find something unique wherever I eat and couldn’t find it here. Just typical.
