I am perplexed by the poor reviews of this Best Buy location since the staff here were absolutely superb even at the end of the holiday season with loooooong lines and big crowds, which is a tough time so earns extra points in my book. Here’s the story: my Mom and I were out phone shopping for the holidays for Black Friday specials. The store was filled to the brim with holiday shoppers yet several staff members in electronics approached us offering assistance. Knowing we wanted phones, they suggested that Mom’s name be added to the queue since the wait to sign up for a new plan was about an hour. Until then, we shopped and the Samsung rep showed us all the bells and whistles of the latest models – even features to simplify the display that some other staff did not know.(I overheard and educated an older couple who were less fortunate than we in bumping into a superb employee who really knew his stuff.) After a bit of a run-around with the old phone contract(no fault of Best Buy), we returned to the store to purchase a phone so the list-on-name aspect really helped. What totally impressed me, however, was that Best Buy staff still saw the good half dozen folks still waiting to sign up for phones when we were done… and that was a few minutes after closing. Not only have most of these employees been working extra long hours for the holiday but they also remained very polite, helpful, and patient. Great specials, too – better than the handful of other stores we stopped into before comic here. Keep up the good work, Best Buy!

Went to this Best Buy looking for a specific printer that I researched online. I got to the store and immediately realized that the printer was out of stock and the website had miss counted the inventory. Just to make sure, I asked a staff member who shrugged and said, «if it’s not out we don’t have it.» After looking around at other options I asked another staff member who was actually helping people and he check at other local stores and found the printer I was looking for a little futher down york road. For my overall experience I give this best buy two stars for inaccurate inventory and poor customer service. Plus bad parking and location as stated by another reviewer.

This was an absolutely horrific experience. I had an appointment to have a satellite radio installed in my brand new 2012 Ford Focus. When I got there the installer was less than friendly. I explained that I wanted a suction cup mount. He said they did not have them and did not sell them. I asked how he was planning on installing my unit(it’s the small removable Onyx XM model. he said he would glue it to the dashboard! I said thanks but no thanks. He then pulled the car out, left it running with the door open, and didn’t say a word. Oh and this would have cost me about $ 180. I called the store manager later that day and after being put on hold for 25 minutes I explained the situation and gave my name and number for a callback. No call. No surprise. No concept of customer service. I will never spend a dime at any Best Buy

What is there to say about Best Buy? We’ve all been there; I think some people even like the place. It’s a necessary evil, I suppose. But here’s the thing. I live approximately ten minutes closer to this store than to the one in White Marsh, but I will go to White Marsh every time, given any sort of choice in the matter. It’s not the staff – they vary little from store to store. Bored teenagers and college kids working so they can pay for next weekend’s kegger, and guys who wish they were Chuck Bartowski. It’s mostly the location. The section of York Rd that this store sits upon happens to be the third level of hell. I imagine perhaps between approximately 2.58 and 3.26am you could manage to get through that section unscathed, but the rest of the time? Forget about it. Avoid it if you know what’s good for your sanity. The other problem is the parking lot. It never helps that MD drivers can’t quite seem to drive, let alone park. But it’s tiny and horrifically set up. Stupid parking lots.
