Big Spruce R V Park & Boat Rental

We’ve been coming to Tillamook during fair week for years and have never stayed here, but rented boats and had our crab cooked here many times. ALWAYS had a friendly attitude and extremely helpful. The younger guy who seems to run the place has a great attitude, and has never had a bad thing to say. Any questions you have, he has an answer for.
We’ll continue doing business here for years to come. :-)
Oh, and for having so much crab cooked and cleaned here, the place is amazingly clean and no crabby odors!

We had a fantastic experience renting a crab boat from Zach! Great customer service, super laid back, and he knows Netarts Bay like the back of his hand.
Rental includes baited pots or rings, he also has gloves and other nice to haves and will boil for a fee as well.
All in all a great value.

I will say best time to go is off season or when you know no one will be there. I imagine summer is a nightmare. We have a big rig and at the time we went over this past weekend, it wasn’t too bad, because we had some spaces in between us and neighbor, but it looks like you get packed in here like sardines. No place to get around other RV’s or to get out.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. When I called to the make a reservation, the gentleman didn’t even ask for me a credit card. They are a Passport America park, so you will get a discount if you stay during the week and have a membership.
What a cool friendly and laid back place. Just a shame it would not be feasible in the summer. Such a cool spot and good place to take the doggie. Just make sure you keep them on a leash.
There is not a whole lot of room for overnight /​part timers, what you see in the front is just for that. Anything in the back is for the people living there. Didn’t have the pleasure of doing the crabbing with Zach (super friendly guy) but maybe next time. If you have a big family or want a lot of room– not for you. Off season for just a few days. Perfect! Happy travels!

I’ve been crabbing now twice this summer, and both times we went to Netarts Bay and rented a boat and crabbing equipment from Big Spruce.
These guys are great! Super nice, accommodating, and willing to help us crabbing novices figure out overly complicated things like tide charts! :) Wanna know the best bait to use? They’ll tell ya! And when is the best time to go? (According to them, any month that ends in «-ER»). They also launch your boat, pick up your boat, and steam your crabs!
Ah, the sweet allure of dungeness crab. Nothing tastes better, especially when you caught it yourself! If you fancy trying your hand at crabbing, definitely go to Big Spruce! They’ll take great care of you!
