I wanna give this place flying colors! Atmosphere was brilliant I loved the excellent lighting and the beautiful arrangements of tables. They serve stumptown which normally isn’t my favorite, but actually was really well brewed and amazing. I loved every piece of food I got. Everything was fairly healthy ingredients and tasted clean. I didn’t get a hint of a bad after taste from anything. I loved the employees and their excellent service. Overall excellent experience at symposium coffee!

You could say I practically live here! Symposium coffee is unbeatable and all of the 300 bazillion times I’ve visited I’ve only received the best costumer service. I drive from Aloha to study at symposiums and when ever I get the chance Ill drag friends and family along, because they just HAVETOTRYIT!

There’s good coffee and then there’s Symposium Coffee. During a rainy afternoon, my energy was running low and I found Symposium Coffee in the quaint downtown city of Tigard to the rescue. What made this place especially inviting was the community feel with the staff and patrons. As I entered, there was ample wooden seating by the café and three additional rooms where you can enjoy your food and beverages. I ordered a medium Lavender Latte($ 4.75) with many alterations and the barista happily obliged without any hesitation or negative discourse. To my pleasant surprise, the lavender syrup married nicely with the bitter taste of the coffee and the sprinkle of dried lavender flowers put this drink into the outstanding category. They used the Northwest famous Stumptown Roasters for their coffee and had other specialty lattes(e.g. salted caramel or cardamom) which sounded delicious for my next visit. Besides coffee, they had an extensive list of teas and other non-coffee drinks. The pastries in the display looked fresh and tempting and I noticed many of the people had some type of food with their drinks. If you’re hungry, you can order sandwiches and other smaller prepared goods. Since the rain didn’t let up, I took advantage of the free WiFi and the outlets and worked on my laptop. Many people were here chatting, using their laptops or enjoying the atmosphere of this warm local coffeeshop. The noise level and music was not overbearing. One of the rooms prohibited cell phone usage. The three rooms are available to rent for private meetings and catering. Half way home and my Unilocal app still blowin’ up. Today I didn’t even have to use my Lactaid. I got to say it was a good day.

Symposium is a quality coffee shop in a sea of suburban mediocrity. It’s nigh impossible to find a decent cup outside of Portland proper, and Symposium serves up beverages that easily make it the best(if not the only) real option for those of us on the west side. The coffee is great, the baristas are friendly, and the owner is very welcoming. The atmosphere here is also excellent, with high ceilings, bright light and plenty of places to sit. It’s a great place to get some work done, meet up with friends or just relax for a while. Their other drinks are also solid, and they serve one of the best spicy chais I’ve had, period. They also have some good(if not limited) breakfast and lunch options, which are made fresh and taste excellent. Today I tried the new house salad and really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a truly good cup of coffee and don’t want to make the drive into Portland, this is the place to get it.

I found this place by accident a while back and I’m very happy I did. Great coffee, friendly staff, atmosphere is awesome. Seating can be difficult at times, especially when schools in session, but overall an excellent place to check out!

This place is incredibly cute. The space is large and welcoming. I loved the wooden interiors. The barista was funny and a real pleasure to talk to, John was his name, coffee is his game. I ordered the spicy chai latter with soy and it was everything I had wanted in that moment, smooth, foamy, spiced, warm, and absolutely delicious. You’d never think a place like this would be in Tigard, but it is! I’m also in love with the wooden tables in the study room.

Has become my favorite place for excellent lattes and delicious quiche. Today they have Salmon Quiche for the first time in a long time. It is absolutely incredibly delicious. They carry Steven Smith teas and Stumptown coffee and occasionally set out bags of used grounds free for local gardeners.

Great coffee, great staff, great décor. I’ll be back many times. Tip: Try the lavender latte. Symposium has a great latte base as it is, but the lavender adds a really delicious floral note.

This is a cute coffee spot. It’s comfortable and there are quite a few tables. I liked that there was the main seating area, and separate quiet rooms. The coffee was delicious — I had an affogato and I really enjoyed it.

Excellent coffee and pastries. The reason for the two stars is because both times I have been in, they have been out of clean spoons, water cups and stirrers and it wasn’t even a «high traffic» time. Staff Mede me feel like a burden for asking. Replace these items when needed and I won’t have to ask! I wasn’t the only one who needed to add sugar or milk, etc. The staff is mostly sweet and polite but some act like they have a stick up their a**! What gives? I’m not the only one who has commented… see the other reviews.

Wow. The iced soy chai tea latte is spectacular. I don’t like chai tea lattes because they are mostly bitter and taste like sand. But I get them because I don’t drink coffee and I love hot chocolate but sometimes don’t want anything sugary. However, I’m usually disappointed with chai tea lattes. But the one here is loaded spices that give the tea a boost. The atmosphere is really chill too. Not pretentious and the music is mellow. Another thumbs up cause I can’t stand coffee shops that blare screeching punk music or annoying rap music.

I really enjoyed everything about this place. The ambiance was just what I would want for a coffee house. The lay out was great. Nice open floor plan with a few private rooms. The service was good and the coffee was as well. That is the main thing you want in coffee right? It was stumptown and I take it black. We all know stumptown is good. I would rather support the locals than the corporation any day. The only downside was lack of food options.

I stopped by Symposium last night 11÷17÷14 to kill some time. I had no idea what I wanted so I explained what I liked to the employee = half caf, with almond milk, and vanilla flavoring. They didn’t have almond milk, but they had hazelnut milk… low and behold he had created one of the most wonderful late’s /coffees /whatever it was, that I have ever had! It was frothy, warm, and not too sweet. I was so excited I went there this morning to do some work and have another one of those delicious coffees… sadly enough the place was packed and I had no where to sit. I guess that is a good sign for the business though! I will be back Symposium… oh yes, I will back.
