It was crowded, it was the weekend before Christmas. We just stood there, by the cashier. Two girls were standing there. The 1st girl did not greet us, instead, she started to pitch us wine & pointed one of the bottles in front of the cashier. The 2nd girl, I thought she was going to take our order, she did look @ us, but still no one greeted us! The 1st girl started to walk to the glass display, and started dishing up a cookie, I thought she was dishing it up for us, we didn’t order any. But she didn’t say anything. We have not been there before, we didn’t know what to expect, if we were supposed to order first then get seated. Finally, someone took our order. Then, we got in line to be seated. OK, we got our seats, we got our foods, we are almost finished. I had one last bite of my sandwich left, my hand just put the last chip in my mouth and was still eating it, when the 2nd girl(who came & deliver our meals) came to pick up my plate. I just stared at her, my hand just froze between my plate & my mouth(since I just put the last chip in my mouth, and ready to pick up my last bite of my sandwich(then my plate took off) WITHHER! What was that all about? Wait! Should I go after her, I’m NOTDONEEATING, and you just took my plate without asking me? Now she’s back, and offered us if we wanted dessert. We said: ‘we’re fine”. So I lied! No, I’m mad @ you! Let me finish my meal, digest my food, then drink my water, then when I’m good & ready, if I still have room, I’ll. .. . never mind. I’m beginning to sound like the Grinch… Merry Christmas! Oh, the food? My Ciabata bread with my Cranberry Turkey, the bottom section was so tough, even my knife can’t cut through it. I saw & saw & saw, and saw & saw, and it won’t separate! I’m a dainty eater, and I eat almost everything(including my sandwiches) using my knife & fork(how do I know where my hand’s been?). Husband’s French Dip was quite flavorful, so was mine, except for the bread!

I am a BIG fan of Nordstrom and their Marketplace Café AKA Nordstrom Café. I recommend the Cilantro Chicken Salad and Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich. Service is very consistant and attentive as well as friendly ! So, with all the places to eat at the Washington Mall, I choose Marketplace Café, everytime.

I’ve been coming here a while now and sometimes I have bad experiences with the girls but one girl there has made me come back over and over again. Don’t know her name but this place has great food, it’s busy but I wish all the girls were equally nice to everyone.

They miss 2 stars because my other half and I ordered panini sandwiches that were waaaaaaay too buttery. We couldn’t even finish the sandwiches because they were so drenched in butter. Also, the chips they include are too greasy. Greasy/oily food has its place in a restaurant but for a simple lunch, the buttered bread is overdone and the chips should be offered in a variety. If you don’t mind the butter overload and greasy chips, this place is great even during a busy lunch hour on Saturday.

I really enjoyed the salad I ordered. This was a great break from shopping! The only complaint is that they had the air conditioner on too high. It was freezing cold! Staff was pleasant.

Food was mediocre, small portions and overpriced for that. Service was horrible, long waits, indifferent waiter that literally threw the napkins at us.

Great place to refuel before/during/after a shopping trip. Our server, Jared, was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and courteous. He exemplified the Nordstrom customer service experience. Oh, and the food was good too. Not the most amazing, but tasty.

I can always count on Nordstrom Café to save the shopping day. Where else can you have a decent sit down meal that is not full of carbs of so fatty that you won’t fit in the items you just bought. And you can sit and put all your bags by your side without any worry. After my shopping spree, I decided to have a late lunch, I think everyone had that same idea. This place was packed, usually at home, the café is pretty empty around 3p.m., not here. I found a small table so I had to squeeze my bags next to the other table. Thank goodness I had dropped off the other bags at the car already. I had one of my usuals the pear, chicken and goat cheese salad with light dressing. It is so delicious. Service was a little slow because they were so busy, but I am sure I will be back next time I am shopping at this mall.

I don’t know if I would come here again? Beet Salad was underwhelming, but the service was very good. Wish the food was just up to par. The Salmon with potatoes and vegetables looked really good. Maybe next time?

Great place to have a cup of soup or a fresh salad if you’re at the mall, nothing like the typical food court food. I like the freshness, variety and quick service.

We normally go to the Cheesecake Factory but today we decided we would check out the Nordstrom Café. The Nordstorm Café has been recently remodeled and when I say recently. In the last couple of years. That said, I was last in this location the day before they were closing for two weeks for the remodel. I have to say I like what they’ve done with the place. It’s got some nice booths and tables. They have a great wine list(I didn’t partake as it was 11am) but it might be nice at a later time. They have a variety of salads and sandwiches which come up very quickly. They also have a huge variety of desserts, which looked great. I didn’t try any(it’s January, after all). The service is good. I had a diet Coke and they kept coming by and refilling my drink. I was well caffeinated after that visit. :) I’ll be back again. It’s a bit secluded from the rest of the mall, which I found enjoyable. You miss a lot of the hub bub.

What I love about Nordstrom restaurants is the consistency. I’m a big fan of the cranberry turkey sandwich at the café. I’ve had it in several stores in the Seattle area and also at this Washington Square store in Portland, OR. They all taste the same — GREAT. It’s like having a thanksgiving meal in a sandwich… love with chips.

So the Nordstrom Café has become my first choice when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat while shopping at Washington Square. I don’t have the patience to wait a ridiculous 30 minutes to get a table at the Cheesecake Factory, and I’m not a big fan of the food court offerings either… so this has been the spot I hit up the most. Offerings include sandwiches, salads, soups, and some desserts… typical things you’d expect of a café. Service is pretty good, somewhat a mix between fast food and a sit down restaurant. You order at the counter, sit down and wait for a waiter to come bring you your drinks and serve you. There’s a kid menu that you can order from– which includes a grilled cheese and small bowl of tomato basil soup combo that really hits the spot when you are looking for a light meal to refuel while you shop some more!

We decided to have lunch here after purchasing our dresses and before working on the rest of our shopping. The place was hopping-full tables everywhere. After waiting in line a bit to order, we found a table and waited for 5 or so minutes before it was cleaned off. Then we waited 10 minutes for our waiter to look at our order and bring our waters(they were out of Diet Coke today). Then we waited another 20 minutes for our food. 2 salads, 1 bowl of soup and one soup/sandwich/salad combo. My salad is a staple at all the NC’s I have ever been to. The chicken, apples, almond and goat cheese salad. DELICIOUS… or typically DELICIOUS. I was ravenous by the time it arrived and man, the first couple of bites were great. Then I realized there was no chicken in my chicken, apple and goat cheese salad. Oh, and no almonds either. Oh well. I summoned the waiter to ask about the chicken. He was visibly embarrassed and a few minutes later, arrived with a small bowl full of chicken. I didn’t mention the almonds because I thought it would be overkill. As I delved back into my salad, my soon to be MIL bit into a long piece of black hair in the middle of her sandwich. None of us has dark hair. That was just about that… When the waiter came back, she told him about the hair, and he promptly refunded both of our meals. So, moral of this story… nice customer service towards the end-B team was working the kitchen today. Still better than the food court, but not good enough to come back to-even without tax!
