Do your self a favor and skip this one. Been here 4 times now. 1 lunch, 2 dinner 1 happy hour and I haven’t seen anything worth coming back for. HH Burger was just a salty ball of meat. Razor clams were very poor. Warm beer.

Here’s my review for M+S Grill at the Bridgeport Mall. Parking was difficult to find so I ended parking at the other end of the mall and had a nice walk thru the mall to the restaurant. Clientele is a mix of families, couples, singles, and to a larger degree, older folks. From their menu offering, I selected the: 1. Steamed clams in tomato broth 2. Grilled scallops on a bed of spinach and gratin potatoes 3. Mixed berries with fresh cream in a chocolate bag Food: The steamed clams were way too small, plentiful, but really small(each piece of clam meat was about the size of a pinky nail). The tomato broth with wine was ok but it suffered from the poor quality of the clams. This is a dish that should not have been offered given the quality of the clams… but I suppose the kitchen had no choice. The entrée I ordered, razor clams, looked ok upon arrival. They tasted ok as well but they were tough as though they had been overcooked. The mashed potatoes were warm and grainy. I noted this to the waiter when he came by to ask. More about this in the«service» section. The replacement item I ordered, grilled scallops on a bed of spinach and gratin potatoes was good. Scallops were large but just ever so slightly overcooked(it is not easy to grill scallops properly). The scallops may have been frozen as they lacked that subtle sweetness that comes with fresh scallops. One could argue that this dish is overpriced given the quantity and quality. The mixed berries with fresh cream and panna cotta(?) in a chocolate bag was quite good. The berries(blackberries, raspberries and blueberries) were very fresh and sweet. The portion was easily large enough to share among 2 or 3 people. I recommend this one. Service: Very courteous and professional… as one likes to see from an upper scale restaurant. The waiter(Brian) came by frequently to check on things. The food came out fairly quickly and was properly paced. When he asked about the razor clams and I responded by noting that they were tough and chewy, he offered to replace the dish with a new one citing the fact that they are«not supposed to be like this». After some initial hesitancy, I took him up on the offer. Within a few minutes, the manager came by to apologize for the quality and asked me pick an alternate menu item. He did note that the cooks advised that all the razor clams tasted chewy on this occasion. He later came back again to make sure the new dish was ok. Some other Unilocal reviews have noted poor service, but I was impressed. Surroundings/cleanliness: Décor and lighting is warm. The domed ceiling helps alleviate the noise that emanates from the bar and dining area behind the bar and makes conversation comfortable. However, I would consider changing the«thumpy» background music… it does not match the atmosphere and vibe. Overall: As with many corporate owned restaurant chains, McCormick and Schmicks is encumbered by a menu that favors long term consistency and profitability over quality. My last visit was 15 years ago and it does not seem like the menu has changed much since then. Our concept of good food changes over time and restaurants should update their menus to reflect that. Perhaps it is the desire to maintain a loyal clentele that prevents M+S from changing and innovating. The Pacific Northwest is famous is for its easy access to good, fresh seafood, so it is disappointing see a well known restaurant like M+S miss the opportunity to update their menu with dishes that allow its showcase, the seafood, to shine. Overall, I was happy with my dining experience. The customer service was certainly very good, but the food was, well, ok. It could have been much better. I’ll give 4 stars. I am a fan of the service but not quite a fan of the food.

Love it! We come here now about once every other week to relax and enjoy«Wine Down» specials and partake in the periodical seasonal catch they have available. Also amazing steak. Can’t say enough good things about this place! Also recommend the preferred Landry’s member. My husband and I went in and it was a 50 minute wait. We flashed our preferred members card and it suddenly went from 50 minutes to 6 minutes. We’d have left if we had to wait nearly an hour to be seated. Reservations are recommended!

Disappointed! I thought this was a seafood and steak house… I couldn’t find steak on the lunch menu. Ended up with a burnt medium rare cheeseburger. They didn’t even attempt to mask the burger with a sauce or ketchup. In a desperate attempt to make my visit better I ordered a cup of chowder. Chowder was decent, but not worth fighting the very limited parking for. My wife wasn’t totally disappointed with her chicken salad. Except she asked for a balsamic dressing on the side and we are still waiting for the lab results to come back on what was in the little bowl…

I had the almond crusted trout and it was pretty bland. Not sure if the forgot the lemon sauce or not. The coconut prawns were really good as well as the wedge salad. My wife’s steak was pretty meh too. That was the vibe at the table. Everyone’s meal was just ok. Might go back and try it again.

Unless every other restaurant at Bridgeport is full I would stay away. The service is slow and worse, uncaring. There are no busboys keeping drinks filled and the waiter really didn’t care whether we liked our meal or not. The only reason I didn’t give it one star is the fact they were busy.

So I’m reading the reviews on here and scratching my head wondering what’s wrong with people — bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was so amazing we ordered a second plate of them. Our steaks were not only perfect, but some of the best we’d ever had. The asparagus tasted fresh and the service was fantastic. The restaurant was spotless clean, and the ambiance with the warm wood, and unique circular dining room behind a gorgeous bar was unique and memorable. Anyone complaining about the price should probably stick to TV dinners and the occasional trip to a buffet…

Un-Happy Hour! My friend and I decided to visit M & S Grill for Happy Hour yesterday afternoon, and were looking forward to some tasty food. We arrived with healthy appetites, and ordered blackened chicken quesadilla, Buffalo wings and seafood stuffed mushrooms. The surprising and disappointing result was that ALL of the food tasted old and stale. The wings had that too long in the freezer taste and texture, the seafood mushrooms were inedible and smelled strongly of crab gone bad, and the chicken quesadilla was dry and lacking in filling. Wow. Very disappointing, to say the least. One would think that such a popular eatery would be up on its game when it comes to their Happy Hour offerings. It had been several months since I’d had a Happy Hour at M & S Grill, and something has gone very, very bad. Someone need to pay attention to what is being served to the Happy Hour customers and do some serious improvement in their overall quality control. It is definitely lacking to have all three items be so poor. I will not be back to the M & S Grill for quite a while, if ever. And, if I do return, and the food is still sub par, I will have a heart-to-heart with the manager and get a complete refund… which is what I should have done on the day we had to endure that Un-Happy Hour food. Yuk!

We sat at the bar on a busy night. The bartender was awesome. Friendly, but not hovering. We had appetizers and a lobster cobb. The food was better tan average, but not great. We love the atmosphere and the ability to keep up on a game or two. The place is consistent, a little over priced, but consistant.

Not sure why the reviews are low BUT, I definitely thought they executed a busy Thanksgiving Day perfectly yesterday. Food and service was great!

The worst service experience I’ve had in Portland. Understaffed and inexperienced, having lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s here was a tortuous epic. 20 minutes before we saw a waiter and 90 minutes until my soup was ready. Unacceptable. Shut this place down and out everyone out of their misery.

The reviews are pretty true on this one. The venue is gorgeous and the service was great, but the food was subpar. My friend got the coconut prawns which actually were pretty yummy, but my oysters Rockefeller were slimy and had an off taste… should have known I’d get really sick off them in an hour or so. Should have just gone to the martini bar across the way. 2 stars for service and ambiance.

Went there for my birthday with my best friend and they turned out to be very rude because I am 17 and he is 16. We were treated like something less than human beings. Learn to treat others the way you want to be treated and maybe JUSTMAYBE you’ll get a bigger tip.

The dinner was a disappointment. Fishy tuna. Late arrival of all wines. Marginal selection of liquor with mixed drinks gone wrong. Two stars at most. Should have read the reviews before committing ourselves to a pricey dinner.

McCormick & Schmicks. Oh, how I use to value you for your amazing seafood. My how times have changed! There are just too many other great places to eat in Portland. I would NOT come back. They do have valet service($ 4) since parking is so hard to find during dinner. +1 star The server was very sweet & attentive. She always came back to fill our waters and check on our food.+1 star And now unfortunately, I am all out of stars to give. The food was just not very good! From the free bread they give you at the table(which I nearly broke a tooth trying to bite into the crust) to the seared ahi tuna(very dry and way overly seasoned) to the charred steak(seriously burned outside– even the server questioned if it was cooked properly!). One of the poorer meals I’ve had in my life and I would recommend you visit other great eateries around the area.

I won’t ever go back. Long cod had a odd smell(I know it’s fish but it smelled awful). We were celebration a friends Birthday and I did not want to ruin the fun so I tried to mast the smell and taste(used lemon and even covered it with the mash potatoes) but I could not hide the fact that this meal just was not right. I took the fork and broke up the long cod and it was not cooked all the way. They offered another dish I almost wanted to skip eating dinner at all but I wanted to get the terrible taste out of my mouth. They brought me a plate of Steelhead(large piece) but my appetite was already spoiled. I used to look forward to going here but for all that money they should get it right. U don’t want to know what happened after I got home. 2nd time getting ill after a meal at M & S. There are many other places that I can enjoy a meal for a fraction of the price. M&S I do not want a free meal out of this and I would not pass one on to a friend either Very disappointed.

After posting the review, I was contacted by M&S’s marketing representative who discussed the issues with me and showed genuine concern. Because of this and because the others in our party were satisfied with their lunches, I am raising the star level. I felt they really did care about the problems I encountered. I had a really bad experience today at McCormick & Schmicks in Tigard. We arrived at 2 pm with reservations and we were almost alone in the restaurant. We didn’t get our food for 50 minutes and there was an additional long wait for dessert. We were served bread right before our lunch entrees arrived and it was served with some sort of whitish butter substitute. When luncheon entrees are $ 15 I kinda expect butter. I ordered blackened Cajun chicken with Cajun linguini. The chicken breast was incredibly dry. As I moved the linguini around on my plate I noticed that it sat in a pool of at least 2 tablespoons of oil. I ate part of the chicken and just a few noodles. I should have sent it back to the kitchen, but our friends had selected the restaurant and I didn’t want to embarrass them. The waitress didn’t inquire if I were happy with my meal. I changed my star rating from one star to two because my husband ordered the trout and said he enjoyed it. I won’t be going back – I think they are losing control of their kitchen.

I’ll try not to make this too long winded, but man M&S really screwed up. Saturday Feb 21, 2015, my wife and I decided to stay in and order something to go because she wasn’t feeling very well. We had a gift card lying around so decided to go with M&S @ Bridgeport. I ordered the Blackened Rockfish, my wife ordered the GRILLED Atlantic Salmon and a molten chocolate cake for dessert. So I got pick up the food, first of all the bartender was not friendly whatsoever, I really wish I hadn’t tipped her(yes I tip even on to go orders). I get home and they gave us a piece of espresso chocolate cake instead of the molten lava cake, and didn’t say anything about it. Second, my wife’s «grilled Atlantic Salmon and vegetables» is a complete and utter joke. All it had was a few pieces of potatoes(see picture I just added) and a terrible berry glaze sauce on the bottom of the container, the menu didn’t mention any sort of glaze. The salmon had zero seasoning and zero flavor, it was definitely not grilled, I suppose it was broiled, but seems like it would look a little bit better than it did if it was cooked properly. We eat a lot of salmon, I could cook better salmon than that with my eyes closed. My rockfish was pretty good, but the smell of fish was a little strong, I’m no rockfish expert but I feel like fresh fish should not smell fishy. Mine had mashed potatoes with it, not bad. Anyway we couldn’t let this one go, we call the restaurant and talked with the manager, this made things worse. Regarding the molten chocolate cake(my wife LOVES lava cakes, and it was her birthday, so it was a big deal, we had a reservation at Melting Pot and didn’t go because she wasn’t feeling 100% and we wanted to really enjoy it), the manager says«oh yeah, we’re out of the molten chocolate cake, so we gave you a piece of the chocolate espresso cake, which is way better anyway» … Are you effin serious man? Don’t you think you should say something rather than just switching up our order, all the while still charging us $ 8 for the piece of cake? It really depends on who you are, for example, my wife is not a coffee drinker, hence she doesn’t like espresso, she didn’t like the cake. So they don’t say anything to us and just change the dessert because they think its better, and still charge us for it? After speaking with him for a few minutes he did apologize, and said he could offer the gift card back but it would take him a few days to get approval from his district manager, whatever. At this point I could care less about the gift card, but look at the picture of out grilled salmon and tell me that’s a $ 25 meal. Salmon, Rockfish and a piece of cake we didn’t ask for plus the tip was $ 64 dollars. Unbelievable. This restaurant needs to get their act together, poor bartender service, poor quality control, poor quality food for the prices they change, very poor experience.

First time eating here with spouse yesterday. We both ordered the lobster bisque. It was very tasty with a few pieces of lobster and I mean«few» but the bread they gave us was the hardest toughest piece of leather we have ever had to chew! The waitress was slow. Didn’t like reading a review just now that someone had gotten food poisoning a month ago there and we just ate there yesterday! Yikes!!!

The happy hour menu is pretty good, the burger has a rich charred flavor of actual flames not a griddle. The ahi was a bit spicier than I imagined even after the waitress warned me it was going to be very very spicy. I like heat but if it’s that far over what I can take to the point that the waitstaff warns you of it, I would recommend offering options for spicy or not, rather than just warning customers. Their dessert menu seems solid and the crème brûlée was the best I have had in 10 years. I was very pleased with it. Overall I would recommend their happy hour, but I have not been there for dinner yet.
