Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Portland-Tigard

Location is good, very close to shopping center and in a safe neighborhood. Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ended for me on the stay I recently had.
As soon as I got to my room, I heard pounding music. Thought it was another hotel guest room so I brushed it off and left, only to come back hours later hearing the same thing. Realized it wasn’t a neighboring guest room, but it was coming from the downstairs office. It was already late at night and yet they kept playing the wretched sounds oblivious to the guests staying above! We’re talking about the hotel employees here, not other guests. I called downstairs to the front desk and was given a surly response of, «Hahaha okay I guess I can turn it down». While the sound ceased, it only returned at the same volume level at 7am, waking me up after I had planned to sleep in to recover from prior days work. Ridiculous, appalling, and unprofessional in the most extreme way. I’ve never experienced anything so outrageous like this before from any hotel in all my years.
Room quality was also showing its age and felt unclean, with a ridiculously small bathroom. While I have no problem with an aged room, as I’ve stayed at other Doubletree’s in far worse condition before, I could not bear hearing a pounding stereo below me as if this was supposed to be a tenement in Harlem.
Since it was impossible for me to sleep in, my day was now ruined. I checked out in disgust and checked in to the Embassy suites a few blocks away. Wow, what a difference. That hotel is professionally run with courteous staff and the rooms are all brand new. And best of all, it was quiet. Get that, a quiet room ! It’s all I asked for. Overall, will never stay at this Doubletree ever again.

This place serves its purpose, but could be slightly cleaner. The shower had a small moldy spot on the ceiling, but wasn’t that big of a deal. One plus about the rooms is that they have a small love seat hide-​a-​bed, which comes in handy for kids.
I have definitely stayed in better, but I could’ve easily done so much worse. All in all we would probably use this Double Tree again.

Just back from a 10 night stay during a convention. Staff was very helpful and courteous – cookies warm and tasty. Room was generally well maintained: clean towels and bed linen when we asked for it every other day. Provided a free fridge which was great. However, don’t think housekeeping vacuumed the whole time as when we arrived, there was a dirty napkin or some such and a piece of popcorn under the desk. We threw away the napkin but the popcorn was there in plain view until the day we left. Restaurant seemed pricey and despite warning them of the crowds they could expect, the breakfast buffet only had one four slice toaster and insufficient wait staff. Restaurants were in the weeds most of the time.

Every once and a while, I find a Hilton brand hotel that I feel deserves a 5 star review. This location makes that list!
The staff is super friendly, the housekeepers smile and greet you in the hallways, front desk is always ready to take care of your needs! The breakfast buffet is great!
The location is amazing. Outside the busy area of Portland, Tigard is quite quaint and beautiful. Lots of amazing food options within a 10 minute drive.
The best part — I got a free room upgrade. They had a large suite available and gave the room to me. 2 rooms, large bathroom, living room area, and even a fireplace!
My stay here has been pure relaxation. I will definitely bookmark this hotel to use in the future! Keep it up, Hilton!
Oh, and to add the cherry to the sundae, this stay makes me an official DIAMOND member ! *does a happy dance*

I have 4 in my family. The rooms are great with plenty of room for all of us. The cookies are a bonus. We arrived at 11a and we just walked in to see if they had a room ready. They did and let us check in. Front office lady took great care of us.
I only wish they had a hot tub! Tomorrow is breakfast and I will see what they have.
Breakfast was great with plenty to offer. Health section was nice to see and the people are helpful with anything needed.

I do short trips to Portland from time to time and always stayed here. (I have had my fair share of the chocolate chip cookies.)
I have to say that I really like the location. It’s near tons of restaurants and not in a particularly loud area. Parking is a little tight in some spots but adequate.
Other reviewers mention problems with cleanliness, but I have never experienced any such problems – and, admittedly, I look for them.
The rooms are quiet. The amenities are nice, and the bed pillows are amazing. Always a great experience. I look forward to more.

Disappointed. Reserved a suite but arrived and told one not available. Front desk staff unsympathetic and near snarly. Room is fairly good shape but thin sheets and a frayed towel. A few resident dust bunnies hiding out here and there. I won’t return.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in the Portland area and I sleep in hotel beds more than my own bed. Its very clean, the personnel are tremendously hospitable and the rooms are very nice. I already have my next stay booked for here.

Friend who visited stayed here and said housekeeping was horrendous. Rooms were disgustingly unclean. Stay away.
