A newish Peet’s and for me one of the better in Marin, maybe I’m biased I visited this place a lot this September. The room is spacious, comfortable, and they have a nice out doors. Since this is located in a strip mall you’ll always find parking. Good if you live in Tiburon, or if you find yourself on that stretch of 101.

Love that they open at 5:30am. Do not love that I was greeted with a locked door at 6:30am as there were not the mandatory two employees in the shop. When they did open, bit grumpy. Be happy, Peet’s!!!

The Tiburon location is in dire need of trained baristas. The last time I ordered my latte it was like drinking warm watered milk, and the milk had a bad taste. Have not been back there for a coffee drink since. Asking for more foam was also a task the barista did not want to deal with. Sorry she was so bothered by my request. It’s quite noticeable how each Peet’s location is run differently, especially in Marin.

I want to start off by saying that I love the Tiburon crew. Except I have noticed one individual barista who made me extremely uncomfortable on several occasions. One specifically made particularly disturbed. One evening when I came in to get an evening hot chocolate, the cashier gave me a small discount because I am a regular patron(it was very nice of her). And then the barista Jeff approaches her very aggressively in front of me, the customer, and starts berating her about her previous transaction. He soon started yelling at her. This is when the manager came out to try and defuse the situation. He only continued to angry in the middle of the store for about ten minutes. All the while I was standing ten feet away. I have seen Jeff act in these ways to his other fellow employees before: mean, aggressive, rude, angry, and out of control. As a regular patron I would feel inclined to go in more often if Jeff wasn’t there.

Gotta say there is a new crew here, not the friendly faces I used to see all the time. And I’ve been pretty disappointed. The service is very slow and the drinks haven’t been that great. There is one guy who makes awesome espresso drinks but other than him, I’ve had several mediocre drinks recently. It’s a shame because this used to be my favorite peets but to wait 20 minutes between the line and espresso bar to just get an ok drink is not worth it to me. Bring the old crew back!

I always go to this Peet’s, and always have a good experience. The drinks are really good, and the staff is always friendly. Today there was a line of 20 people at 7am(I counted), and word got around that someone didn’t show up for work. I just want to give a shout out to the three employees that were working. They were obviously swamped, and trying their hardest to fill the gap. They didn’t seem stressed or miffed as I would be! Management needs to give these workers a bonus!

This Tiburon Peet’s is located a couple miles outside of downtown in the Cove shopping center. Plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot. My wife and I stopped by around noon on a Saturday, and it was moderately busy, but no one in line ahead of us. We both had Javiva drinks, which are ice-blended frappé-style drinks. I had the Caramel and my wife had the Matcha Javiva. Both were made perfectly and arrived quickly. Nicely blended, no crunchy ice at the bottom, and a sweet, delicious taste all around — we were happy campers! We relaxed inside while we had our coffee. The seating area is segregated from the ordering section where people would line up, a nice touch. Seating featured a variety of table sizes, and some comfortable armchairs. It’s a good-sized store, with a large seating area, and tables well spread apart, so you weren’t breathing down the necks of your fellow caffeineistas as in so many Bay Area coffeehouses. Extra bonus: this Peet’s has a thoughtfully designed interior. Incredibly bright and airy, with high ceilings, recessed lighting, and large windows. No dark, cramped, closed-in feelings in this coffeehouse! Would visit much more often if I lived nearby. Alas, it will need to wait until my next jaunt to Tiburon.

Not the best Peet’s I’ve done business with. Today, Sunday, 7/13, the person behind the counter did not use tongs to retrieve a cookie for me. He used his slightly un-washed hands and he simply needed to be more spiffy and just plain clean. Skill at making various coffee blends is fine but it is not enough. I’ll be returning another Sunday to see if there’s been an improvement!

The staff is top shelf and the service they provide is outstanding; each cashier and service person is friendly and helpful, and the manager is responsive and effective. Peet’s coffees and teas are always excellent, their food offerings are always good. I enjoy this café very much; it is pleasant. One disappointment: This is not a good place to work if you need Wifi. The bandwidth is approximately 1mbps divided among all customers which is clearly not useful for a productive work session; it becomes overwhelmed very quickly. So, if you’re looking for a place with a functional level of internet bandwidth in which to work, this is not the place. However, if you’re looking for a nice café with excellent coffees and teas, good food and good service, this is an excellent choice.

I am disturbed with Peet’s. I ordered a decaf drip which is $ 1.90. I asked them to add a small amount of steamed almond milk. They charged me .60 for milk then ONTOPOFTHAT another .60 for it being Almond Milk. Total for a SMALLDRIP…$ 3.10. WHAT??? Peet’s you should be ashamed of yourself. I paid almost the same amount in milk as I did for coffee. One employee didnt’ seem to care, the cashier felt my concern but didn’t have the leadership qualities to «make the call» and go «above and beyond» to say, «hey, i see you weren’t aware of our ridiculous charges so let me discount this one but for the future be prepared» Now wouldn’t that have been better? It’s not about the $$, it’s the PRINCIPAL. C’mon Peet’s, this is bad, real bad!

Went there for Cappuccino Sunday at 2:00PM. The place was full and 10 people or so waiting in line, but there were only two employees working! Took me 20 minutes to get my drink. The attitude of the employees also need adjustment! Far from the service from other Peet’s Coffee joint!

I Love the location of this place. The Coffee and treats are always good. The only thing is the employees need to be trained better. Some of them don’t know how to grind coffee beans? They get 4 stars because they keep trying to get it right and they eventually get it right :)

Five stars for coffee(the most high-octane, caffeinated goodness in town). Two stars for service. I’ve been a loyal patron of Peet’s for years in SF and other parts of the Bay. Sure, it’s pricier than Starbucks, but their coffee is worth it. And I also like that they’re not as pretentious as the other trendy coffee brands(I’m looking at you, Blue Bottle, Four Barrel, and Ritual). Since moving to Mill Valley, I’ve been trying to find a good neighborhood coffee spot. I was happy to find this Peet’s location since it’s only a 5 minute drive my home. Here’s the positive: 1) The coffee is just as good and fresh as any other Peet’s store. 2) There’s plenty of parking(something that you truly appreciate when you’ve lived in SF). 3) There’s free WiFi. Here’s the not-so-positive: The service is super SLOW. I’ve been here a handful of times, and my double espresso usually takes up to 10 minutes. The last time i came in was Saturday morning(aka the coffee house equivalent of rush hour traffic). The lady taking my order was super sweet and bubbly. I didn’t even mind that she tried to up-sell me on a pastry. But somewhere between taking my order and sending it to the espresso machine barista, things went downhill. It became obvious to me(and the growing line behind me) that the young kid working the espresso machine was still in training and didn’t know how to read the incoming orders, let alone make the drinks. I felt sorry for the poor kid. It was clearly his first day on the job. But that kind of made me wonder — why would you train someone during the busiest time of day? Wouldn’t it make more sense to teach him the ropes during a slower daypart(late afternoon or early evening)? I’m just asking. Finally, a frazzled manager intervened and came to the kid’s rescue. Long story short, I got my double espresso after a 20 minute wait. Fortunately, I didn’t have anywhere important to be. But that’s an awfully long wait for a drink that only takes 10 seconds to consume. In any case, I kept my mouth shut. However, the other locals became very restless. Some were not so subtle about their dissatisfaction. And you know what — I guess I can respect their frustration. But let’s face it — the staff was clearly having a bad day. We all have those. My only surprise was that the manager didn’t do a better job of placating the frustrated customers. Not to compare apples and oranges, but when I’ve had to wait longer than 5 minutes at Starbucks, the barista usually offers me a voucher for a free coffee on my next visit. It’s not necessary for them do that, but it’s good customer service. Here’s hoping that this Peet’s gets their act together soon. Otherwise, I’m going to have to seek out a new coffee house. P. S. - Dear young barista-in-training, Hang in there, buddy. You’ll figure it out!

The individuals hired behind the counter serving a ‘finicky, snobbish, coffee aficionados’ are the backbone in creating the success of this location. Their spirit of solid teamwork from sweeping the floor, wiping counters, the tables/chairs, attention to replenish the crème/milk containers, sugars, lids to approaching customers waiting for their order and much more, stands as a ‘real’ example of quality of service. Thank you Nick, Desiree, Rico, Brandon, Kenya, Genevieve, Stephanie and Brian for your wonderful energy of serving Peets Coffee.

So thrilled that Tiburon now has a Peet’s! No more having to go to Mill Valley! The new store looks so fresh and airy. All the staff are friendly and greet you warmly. I order the same thing everyday and it makes me happy that my drinks are always consistently consistent.

Day 1 — this is a wonderful happening! We are finally getting a fantastic coffee venue that this amazing neighborhood will enjoy. Peet’s certainly has the best coffee in town now and my first cuppa Joe here this morning was excellent! OK, the place is new… but one major problem /flaw that they need to fix immediately is their ability to heat things up. I’m referring to their food, of course — they apparently cannot heat or toast anything(including bagels). Let’s move quick on this this Peet’s!!!

finally a peets coffee in Tiburon! I came in on their 1st day opening and I can already tell that this is gonna be the new hang out spot for the locals and will bring much needed business to this mall. Staff are very nice and friendly, great selections of coffee and tea drinks! Nice décor as well! I will come here often from now on and forget about starbucks! Peet’s is the way to go! … found out this right after I post the review above(July 23rd, 2012): It’s been rumored for quite some time that California-based Peet’s Coffee & Tea Inc. was up for sale, and many people have been sipping on their beverages, waiting for the seemingly inevitable announcement that Starbucks would be the buyer. And then comes today’s news that Peet’s has been purchased for $ 977.6 million, not by Daddy Starbucks, but by German conglomerate Joh. A. Benckiser. So instead of going to the huge company it helped foster 40 years ago by selling its beans to, Peet’s will be owned by a European business known more for its ownership of beauty companies like Coty and luxury goods business Labelux. This puts Peet’s under the same umbrella as Jimmy Choo and OPI nail polish. It will be another three months or so before the deal is finalized, but the L.A. Times reports that the company’s current management will continue to run the 46-year-old business out of its Berkeley-area offices.
