For what I expected to be a huge tourist trap, this café turned out to have reasonable food at a reasonable price. Not sure why the map indicates that it is in Tiburon, but I’m referring to the café on Angel Island. Definitely save some time to stop and relax at this café. The view is fantastic, and it’s nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the bay. They have a variety of food, beer, and wine to snack on here. All of which seem fairly priced. One final tip: If you plan on coming here immediately after you get off of the ferry, the café line will fill up pretty quickly so don’t dilly dally at the restrooms.

Yum! Ordered the Way Down South specialty. Pulled BBQ pork cooked to perfection on a thick ciabatta bun topped with vinegary coleslaw. Side salad was surprisingly well dressed! Cuban sandwich got rave reviews as well. Decent wine options. There were zero available shady tables so we had to stalk a taken one until it was vacated. Food was well worth the short wait. Live music and cool breezes made waiting for the ferry very pleasant.

I really enjoyed the angel Island café on Saturday. The line is long but moves really fast so be ready to order. I’m glad that the cashier(I didn’t get her name) was pleasant and patient because I wasn’t quite ready to order and still had a few questions about the menu. The café had a nice size wine selection and luckily while I was trying to decide which wine to choose, a server, Zoe recommended a white wine(forgot the name of the wine) which ended up being perfect. I really wished I would have ordered another glass. LOL. But ask Zoe, if you can’t make a selection because she was right on the money. It’s easy to just hang out at the café and forget that you are there to see the rest of the island. It is easy to people-watch. My only recommendation for the kid fit menu is to possibly use a thinner bread for the peanut butter and jelly. My children only picked at it because the bread was too thick. (I forgot to push post months ago) this is extremely late.

Five stars for having live music and drinks but the food I got today gave me the worst stomach ache. Everything from the tacos to ceviche were overloaded with chilli peppers. I can’t even imagine parents feeding this to their kids. Good tacos but maybe lay off the spice because not everyone can tolerate such spicy food.

We stopped at this café for lunch after a morning hike to the top of Mt. Livermore. The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was great! We ordered the Mt. Ida wrap, it was definitely worth the $ 9 and was big enough to split between the two of us. A lot of reviews mention how costly it is to eat here… you’re on a tourist island… great food and friendly service, prices seemed completely fair to us. Would definitely stop here again!

Great tasting food! Since you are on s a island the prices arevon the island scale, but the freshness and flavor are spot on. The tuna sandwich was delicious and the cheese platter was amazing. The staff was friendly, Zoey helped us and her service was excellent Great place to visit with your family and spend some time on a island full of history.

My husband and I went to Angel Island for a hike! Not only was it an amazing place to hike! When we were with our hike we stopped in at the café. Wow what a surprise! The mimosas packed a punch, the tuna melt and the burger were divine! and to top it off our waitress Zoey was very attentive, friendly and her personality was not match for the bubbles in my mimosa! wow what a package deal! I never would thought that this little gem of a café was hidden on Angel Island! A special thank you to Zoey and all the staff of Angel Island Café!

It was a gorgeously clear spring day on Angel Island. I just finished the Ayala Cove coastal trail run and stopped by Angel Island Café for a bite to eat and tram tickets. The cashier was efficient, personable and professional. We ordered the scrumptious Way Down South(BBQ pork on ciabatta with house said) and Organic Quinoa Salad. We enjoyed our scrumptious meal while we soaking up the warm sunshine outside and cheered on the runners running to the finish line. The relaxing atmosphere was a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful spring day while people watching.

After a day of hiking it was nice to relax on the outside patio. There is a beautiful view of the water and the food was excellent.

I guess it pays to be the sole establishment on an island. This place is way overpriced; $ 14 for a sandwich and a measly condiment cup of potato salad is outrageous. I ordered the«cubano» and while I didn’t expect to have my mind blown, I did expect to get a Cuban sandwich. What I was served was not even close. Instead of mustard horseradish sauce was used, provolone instead of Swiss, jalapeños instead of pickles, and topped with lettuce and thousand island dressing. NOT A CUBAN. Potato salad was alright.

Alright, if you have time in the morning, definitely try to pack your own lunch because the food on Angel Island can be a bit… expensive and nothing to rave home about — but truthfully I didn’t expect much because 1) this is an island 2) this is an island which is really not close to anything 3) this is an island, what do you expect from them? Ordered: Chili which comes with corn bread & a Salad It’s not the best of the best but it’ll do the job and feed you(and it doesn’t taste nasty, it’s food that will fill your hunger from your hike) if you didn’t have time to pack a lunch in the morning like me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, pack your own lunch, but if you didn’t, you have a limited amount of options.

SUPERFOOD in a great setting at the Cantina. We almost brought our own food as concession food is usually overpriced, mediocre and geared to please everyone and no one. Not so here. Excellent fresh Hog Island oysters in a mignonette(no cocktail sauce to be found), very good fish, chicken and carnitas tacos, all seasoned differently. Great burger. Lagunitas IPA on tap. Small but very reasonably priced wine selection. This fabulous spot would stand alone on a crowded street of restaurants, but at this beautiful and remote spot, an absolute gem. Only drawback was we weren’t the only people enjoying the day, the line to order was long.

The food at this café is AMAZING!!! Seriously, everything on the menu is really good. The salads are fresh, dressings home made, the soups rock, and always check the specials board! The tram tour is also really informative and well organized. Our driver Robert was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Overpriced & neither the food nor the service warrants the steep prices. $ 15 for a chicken wrap & they served me the wrong one. I ordered from the daily special menu and given there is only 1 wrap on it I don’t get how you mess that up. Tried the soup and it was bland. It was served with dried out corn bread. It’s only saving grace is the view & the fact that its am island with no other choices. My advice would be pack snacks & water and hold out for the wharf rather than waste your money here.

This is the only café on Angel Island so we had no choice but to eat here before heading over to Alcatraz. The cashier was not experienced and not trained well. he couldn’t ring up the«fish taco», the daily special because there is no button on the POS. We were given a number and our food was supposed to be delivered to our table. We had ordered a coke. While waiting we noticed others had beverages. I went back inside to find that beverage was«self-serve», which the cashier didn’t tell us. The food was good but the wait was long and the service needs improvement. I would bring my own food next time.

I came here today and saw their bread/pastries on a table covered with flies! One customer tried to swat the flies away but the flies enjoyed sitting on the bread. Can’t they cover up the bread/pastries with a dome? I imagine the poor fellow who eats this and gets sick! I alerted a staff member and she just looked at me as if she didn’t understand why flies on food is not hygienic?! Also, a tuna melt is 13.50 here? Really?

I had the pleasure of visiting Angel Island for a wedding and was completely floored by the entire experience. The island itself is gorgeous and was the perfect backdrop for a stunning wedding. THECAFEISTOPNOTCH! The food is always fresh, delicious, and super tasty!(I was thrilled to learn that the woman who runs the café is the same person who did the food for the wedding — needless to say, I was not disappointed!) It’s healthy, filling, and prepared to perfection — food you can really feel good about. And to top it all off, the atmosphere is unbeatable. Moreover, the customer service at the café is superb — completely on par with the excellent food. The manager works hard to provide an unforgettable experience. And that’s exactly what you’ll have. If you’re in SF, I highly recommend a day on Angel Island — you won’t regret it. And most likely, once you return to the mainland, you’ll be itching to hop the next ferry back!

Angel Island as a park, hiking, exploring, hanging out learning some California history is 5 stars. Angel Island café — I wish it were at least 4 stars. My first time on the island after moving the bay 10 years ago. It was a hot day– and we were really looking forward to the café/cantina and kicking back with a beer and some snacks after our hike and before we had to catch the last ferry back. The long lines were ok and to be expected. They did have a lot of staff working that day so it moved quickly. Tables are incredibly limited for the amount of visitors they get so we had to grab and save while everyone ordered. Our order was mixed up. My veggie asian salad came with chicken mixed in. Instead of adding chicken to the ceasar salad my guy ordered they added it to my salad. Things happen, I caught it before I tasted it so no sweat, we take it back. That is when it went from 4 stars to 2 stars. The lady running this place, owner, manager, I don’t know what, but she was out of control. While I was waiting for the food I witnessed her yelling and berateing her employees at the Cantina. I was seated next to it so I got an earfull and an eyefull. Even if they screwed up terribly there is a better way to talk to people and definitely don’t do this in front of your customers. My guy went in to correct the food error and he got to meet her. After quite a long time he hadn’t returned so I went to the rescue. She was just nasty about it. I calmly explained that it was a mix up between the two orders which he had been trying to get through to her for 10 minutes. She finally got it — said she would fix it and then all but threw us out — no «oh I’m sorry, I will take care of this» no it was more of a point to the door and a nasty dismissal. They did fix both orders but by that time all we could think about was the hideous behaviour we had just witnessed, twice. The food was 3 stars– my asian salad was bland, the friends hot dogs were good but nothing special-however, he said the cesar salad with added chicken was quite good. Beer was 5 stars– ice cold in a tub on the deck with a great selection. I will go back to this place because, I fell in love with Angel Island and now I must return.
