I’m giving it 3 stars because the hummus and tzaziki with pita are very good. The rest of the entrees at dinner, not so much. Have been here twice, hoping the second time would be better. It wasn’t. The lamb chops are on the gamey side and did not taste fresh. My wife’s tuna looked like something out of the prepackaged bags in the freezer section and was a tad on the fishy side. The sand dabs were awful, drowning in a lemon caper slop too heavy with butter. We really wanted to like this place as its local and the prices are very reasonable. Maybe they serve a better breakfast.

Been eating here for 23 years — — that ought to say plenty by it self. Fine dinning it’s not and that’s the sole reason for 4 stars. Just a hole in the wall room with minimum overhead. Staff is always courteous and sometime it get’s busy — — another sign you should be able to read. This ISNOT a fast food slop-shop, it’s a family run business that delivers good food at fair prices. Wife loves the Calamari for its delicate cooking with light, batter instead of the four pounds of frozen commercial breading. Lamb & Sand Dabs are my choices. Wish they had more space to support belly dancing :)

4 for food, 0 for service. Avg 2.0. I’m surprised by all the reviews talking about exceptional service. Our experience was far from that. From ordering appetizer to getting the bill, we constantly had to hunt down our waiter. Maybe they were short-handed – two waiters, one female, one male, and one person to bus. It was a Saturday nite at 6 pm. We really wanted to love this restaurant. It was our first visit and we had heard so many good things about it. So disappointed. :-(

This is a 4 star restaurant to me. The service here is exceptional, and the waiters are very pleasant to talk to. Though unsuspecting from the outside appearance, this place serves some good food. I recommend their pasta dishes and their top sirloin steak. Their clam chowder is also a must-try. The bread here(served with the pasta dishes) is very addicting and delicious, as well. All in all, this is a good tasting, affordable restaurant to try. I could definitely see myself as a regular here.

Great place. Lots of choices for seafood, sammies or Greek food. Beer and wine as well. Had a grilled salmon with healthy sides. Tasted great and filling.

We usually have breakfast here, which is pretty good, although it’s hard to mess up breakfast. Today we got there at noon & they told us breakfast was over, which is funny because McDonalds can do it all day. I ordered a crab cake sandwich which did not come as written on the menu. It was dry & mediocre at best.

First of all, we’ve lived a mile away from this gem for years and kept saying that we need to try it. I could slap myself for not dropping in a longtime ago! «Romanian Paul» which was our server is amazing! Not sure if he manages or owns the place. He was very personable, and obviously loves the food business! We ordered the Shrimp Kabob and the Seafood Pasta. Both cooked to perfection! Great flavor and freshness! It’s a casual place and well priced for the quality. If you are new to Thousand Oaks, don’t do what we did and wait to check this place out! Unfortunately I didn’t even have a chance to eat here. We waited 5 minutes before anyone noticed us, we waited five minutes before anyone dropped of menus. 15 minutes in no one had asked us what we wanted to drink so we walked out. They inside is plain, the outside patio only has plastic wallmart chairs. Not a pleasant experience.

It was okay. Clearly a local favorite, as they were really busy when we went(early on a Friday evening). I was expecting a little more variety in the fresh fish but it was a pretty old school menu.

I was so disappointed in the bass that was brought to my table. It was the tail piece, full of the blood line and totally over cooked on one side(the side they placed on the bottom) The server offered me another fish, though. Service was exceptionally slow. I’m new the neighborhood. I’m not sure if ill give it another shot. Bummer.

This place is amazing the Athenian shrimp appetizer is to die for and my go to is always the Greek salad with the scallop skewers. My daughter loves the hummus with the freshly baked pita. Yum yum

OK. I hate to do it but the fish isn’t as good as I heard it would be. I had Mahi and it came out looking like a slap of chicken. Pressed and overcooked. I thought maybe I got the wrong fish but then I noticed everyone who got fish — it looked the same. Pressed, grilled and over cooked. Having said that. The veggies were good, as was the hush puppies. The baklava was also good. Waiter was very Friendly. I’ll come back — just not for the fish.

We live around the corner and have been told that it was good food for the price. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised that the food was really good for the pricing. Fish and chips is the way to go, and both times it’s been really good and cooked perfectly. Not heavily battered either. They have a carrot cake that is Devine. I would go there just get the cake! Order it if you go! It does get busy and rush times!

I work in Oxnard and my girl works in Woodland Hills so we decided to meet each other for an early dinner in Thousand Oaks to let the traffic die down a bit. She text me the Unilocal reviews and directions to this place because I LOVE seafood and from the pictures and reviews I thought it was definitely going to be an amazing dinner. Let me start by saying the service was great! Everybody was wonderful and they attended to our every need, plus they kept our water glasses full without asking. The salad and soup came out first and it was your typical clam chowder and garden salad so that was ok. I’m pretty sure it was clam chowder out the can but there were no complaints. Finally, the food came out(I ordered the Chilean sea bass with vegetables) and it looked pretty good but once I took a bit into my vegetables it taste like cafeteria or like carehome type food. The sea bass was pretty good but my tarter sauce was oddly harder than normal tarter sauce. It was kind of like a gel as if it had been sitting out for a while or old. After a few examinations I just left it alone and didn’t bother to use it. My girl ordered the fish tacos and those were REALLY good! They had so much flavor and the sauce was on point! She didn’t really like the tacos(she’s not really a seafood person) but I would of switched with her in a heartbeat. We also ordered the Spanakopita(Spinach and a blend of cheeses layered in filo dough) and that was really good! The stuffed grape leaves on the other hand weren’t as tasty as we’ve had at other places. We actually just bought some canned ones from sprouts and they were way better. Now for the baklava! The baklava was probably the best thing we had there. If I were to recommend anything at that place it would be that! Make sure to get one if you decide to go. We probably won’t be back unless we have a baklava craving. Sorry OOO 3 out of 5 Afros

They have valentines decorations up inside. It’s smaller than I thought from the outside. Service was good. Prompt refills and friendly server. Food was good. Chicken quesadilla was very good. The chicken was so flavorful. Spanakopita was good and flakey crust. The pasta we got was not very good. Seemed like they didn’t reduce the white wine enough. It had a very strong acidic flavor. We should have tried the fish like all the reviews liked.
