Last week I made reservations for Claim Jumper at Redmond Town Center for New Years Day dinner. Went there today and they are closed. Sign on the door said shut down. Talk about a shock. They have been there since Redmond Town Center opened up. Does anyone know why?

The staff was really nice but the food seemed too salty and buttery. Everything seems to taste the same here. The club sandwich is the safest bet if you have to eat here but don’t want a heart attack the following evening.

Came today and ordered the only thing that I ever get here, the Chinese chicken salad. There were a couple of hairs in it. I’ve never been too fond of this restaurant but I know for sure now that I won’t ever be coming back. They did bring me out another salad but I was surprised they still made me pay for it when I clearly showed them how disgusting it was to have hair in my salad.

We all remember the days when Claim Jumper was the hottest chain around with delicious homestyle cooking, fun atmosphere and reasonable prices. One day we realized that wevhad become a society of fat overindulged people and we cut back on the huge servings of a scrumptious homestyle foods like those served at places like Claim Jumpers. I’ve been to this establishment on several occasions because they serve quality dishes to satisfy all tastes… Including mine. I’m not one to eat huge quantities of unhealthy food and appreciate a nice plate of green beans as much as a nice juicy steak. The Claim Jumper in Thousand Oaks has exceeded my expectations. Tonight my date and I experienced a quality dining experience… Yes at a chain restaurant! I ordered the hickory chicken and it was superb with scrumptious green beans, mashed potatoes and juicy barbecue chicken. Lets be honest here… How often do you get juicy chicken breasts without skin? It’s rare unless the chicken has been injected with salt water which is far too common these days. While my dish was fantastic my date wasn’t so lucky having ordered the beef kabobs with sweet potatoes and sirloin tips. Sirloin and sweet potatoes are not a good mix as potatoes requires considerably more cooking than sirloin. Our server, Ryan, was congenial and friendly from the time we walked into the restaurant and handled the dry sirloin like a pro, replacing the dish with an excellent pasta dish. They further exemplified customer service when the GM Richard Grigelis came over to ensure my date was satisfied with his meal. The moral to my long winded review… Quality over quantity, huge servings is not the mark of a good restaurant, delicious reasonably priced meals with top quality service will always be in style. Looking for a great date location give Claim Jumper a shot.

Everything on the menu at this place sounds great, but in the end that may have been its downfall, over expectation. The tilapia was over seasoned(incredibly salty), the fish and shrimp were ehh… My Korean chicken pizza was good but closer to fair, far from great. The kids menu items were okay but way above typical kids’ menu prices. In summary, we spent $ 112 incl. tip for a family of 5(no dessert and both my wife and I drank water) for a meal that was partially inedible and mostly uneventful.

The food is pretty good; a cut above TGIF in terms of variety and flavor. However the service is enh! When my wife and I visited there were numerous servers but we had to wait about ~5 minutes to get our drinks ordered and another 5 to get them. Then after ordering an appetizer and the main course it took us asking about our appetizer to have it delivered, nearly 15 minutes later which meant our food was already available but they held it under the heat lamp causing it to taste marginal at best. We will be back to see if this was a one off.

We came in after an event at our school. We sat in the bar to watch the hockey game with our kids. Our server, who was male, was AWESOME. What a nice guy. He was funny, attentive, and was great wit our over tired kids. Food was good as well. We enjoy sitting in the bar area vs. the dining room. Better vibe and friendlier service!

Claim Jumper just has some tough competition around it with the likes of Mastros, Umami Burger and PF Changs but I love their club sandwich and skinny dries so I find myself at claim jumper about once a month. Not the best place for happy hour if your looking to meet people but it’s chill for a beer with some of your buddies.

Friends don’t let friends eat at Claim Jumpers in Thousand Oaks! Talk about going down hill! Cutting corners on the food and bad service = Never Again! This is definitely not the CJ i remember! The waitress got mad and snooty because our cheese dip was literally cheese powder mixed with water. My soda had a thicker consistency. My salad was basically a plate of iceberg lettuce and a couple of walnuts and cranberries. It was supposed to have Avocado and when I told the waitress it didn’t have any, she came back and said the chef remembers putting it in. Why would i lie about it not having avocado? We should have read the reviews first before going there. Never again!

Quite unusual based on past experiences. Waited for over an hour for food, and was forced to take our food to go… as we dropped by before a performance next door. So if you’re planning on stopping by with some sort of time schedule. You may want to think twice…

This is for the Claim Jumper in TO. I used to be a big fan of Claim Jumper. It’s evident that Landry’s is focusing on making CJ, the Chili’s of it’s product family. The menu has changed, getting away from rustic meals, and opting instead for a menu that I could find in any number of chains. I’ll keep this brief as the chain is really not worth wasting a lot of time on. I opted for the rotisserie chicken. It was bland and dry. My friend opted for sirloin bits. He was brought chicken tenders. 15 minutes later he got his meal. There’s a few restaurants in the complex. If you’re in the area, leave Claim Jumper as your place of last resort.

The lady loves this place so we often find ourselves here when visiting friends in T.O. Is what it is. And what it is is: Huge portions, decent drinks, a few good beers… and A LOT of Retirees on Sunday.

For years we have loved dining at CJ! We would look forward to some of our favorites, Ore Cart, WHiskey Chicken, Pot Pie, Bow Tie Pasta just to name a few. We would frequent CJ in Valencia many times,(my husband opened the store 1997 and worked there through 1998) back then, they were not«corporate» had awesome food, great menus and plentiful servings! Seems since Landry’s bought CJ and turned corporate, so many things have changed and it is reflective in every Claim Jumper we visit! Tonight, we decided to give it a try, we live in Thousand Oaks, so of course we went to the Thousand Oaks location. Friday night about 7:30, one would think prime-time for dinner, but honestly it was not even crowded, there were several empty tables surrounding our area. I glanced at the menu and noticed a new item, Sesame Glazed Steak, or something like that. It sounded yummy, but I also was thinking BBQ Hickory Burger. I asked our server, she said«oh, go with the steak», it is really good!(steak $ 17.99, burger $ 11.99) So naturally I went with the steak. My husband ordered pork and beef ribs, which is supposed to be a ½ rack. I also ordered a house salad with extra croutons, cuz I have always loved their corn bread croutons. My salad arrived, no extra croutons, not a big deal, I asked for them. Also my husband was asked by our server twice if he wanted another drink, and he replied yes, and then she forgot his drink and never brought my son’s milk. So the food arrives, my husband ½ rack of pork ribs was half the size of the old ones and very very dry! My steak, was very chewy, and had no flavor, when she came to check on us, I asked her what cut of steak this is, which she did not know. She could see I was not happy. She then said I can get you something else, so I asked for the burger. Within a few minutes, Brian the manager came to our table, and was very apologetic, my husband told him how we have been fans of of CJ for a years, but lately have been disappointed. Brian, kept saying apologizing and said I understand, let me get your your burger, he did not offer to get my husband anything else. So my burger arrives, Brian brought it personally, he sets it down in front of me, and he begins to walk away, as I take a french fry off the plate, he then says, «oops, I gave you the wrong burger and I said I already took a fry off the plate. He still took the burger, and gave it to the table next to us,(if I am not mistaken, I believe that is health code violation) After this whole mess, we just wanted to get our bill and leave. «The server comes over and says don’t forget to order dessert! Oh and it is on us»! Oh Goody! a free dessert! «no thank you I said, not hungry any more» We get our bill, and it was $ 68.00, they did take the steak off the bill but that was it. I have had situations in other restaurants where they offered to comp one or all the meals! This was our last visit to the«Dump» — never again… sad to say.

They were understaffed and made every accommodation to make up for it. Pizza was good. Service was great and it was very reasonable. 5 outta 5 I would recommend happy hour. This place really tries to be good at keeping people happy. Refreshing

Last time, no mas. Saturday night, waited 20 minutes for a table. Got to our table and there were 4 others empty near us. Looked in another section, same thing. Must not have had enough waitresses for the shift? Ordered shrimp jalapenos for an appetizer. Excellent. Daughter ordered alfredo with fries & fruit. I ordered steak k-bob, which was to be marinated steak with vegies, sitting on a bed of rice pilaf. 40 minutes later our food arrived. Daughter didn’t like the alfredo, just ate the fries and fruit. My k-bob showed up without rice pilaf, because they ran out of rice ??? So they substuted mashed potatoes & cheesy fried potatoes. The k-bob also had sweet potatoes & regular potatoes on it. Beef was to be med-rare. Well done was closer to what I got, and it was not tender or marinated. Vegies included 3 itty bitty button mushrooms, 2 slices of bell pepper &2 slices of onion and lots of potatoes. The best thing of our experience — there was a guy making balloon animals and giving them away for free. Use to live in T.O., remember this being built. It was so good back then… Sad when a favorite spot goes so bad.

This place has really gone downhill from when it first opened up. I took my parents to CJ for a late fathers day dinner. I ended up ordering the creamy chicken tortilla soup with a house salad. My parents ordered the special(tritip, chicken, and ribs) with two sides. It was okay. The tritip was a bit chewy and the ribs were okay. Nothing really stuck out to me about this meal. Oh and my soup was über salty. It came with cheesy toast which helped slightly with the saltiness of the soup, as long as I didn’t eat the cheesy part of the bread. Yeah I definitely will not be returning.

I have been here for lunch to meet friends and business associates several times. The location makes it easy to park off Thousand Oaks Blvd. We usually have a salad and we have never been disappointed. The service is always fast and friendly. There is plenty of space so we never feel rushed to give up our table when we just want to hang out for awhile. I gave this 3 stars only because there is nothing about the place that is WOW! I guess I like to find a funky one off places with something really special. This place does everything well for a chain operation. If you are looking for good food and good service you will be satisfied here.

A beautiful location with amazing food! This place always gets the best of me because the décor is amazing and food is delicious. The only con I could think of is the massive wait time and fairly slow service. I went here awhile ago, but I just felt the need to write a review. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich, and it was made perfectly! Other places always seems to put twenty times more sauce than needed, but Claim Jumper put the perfect amount. My family and I went for my dad’s birthday, and we all decided to share the HUMONGOUS chocolate cake. When I say humongous, it’s huge!!! It was about 1 foot big, and the chocolate flavor literally exploded in our mouths; great stuff. If you want a place with good food, and a semi-formal setting, Claim Jumper is your place!
