This is a nine mile multi-use trail. It includes 2.2 miles of paved trail along 301 near John B. Sargent State Park(where canoe rentals for the canoe trail are offered) and an additional 6.7 miles of unpaved trail(off road type not single track). There are some bridges and parks along the way with picnic tables. The area is pretty buggy!!! So come prepared. Sections of the trail are for bicycling, horseback riding, hiking and inline skating. Leashed pets are allowed. Bring bags and scoop yo poop. The area is near Fort King Road that was used during the Second Seminole War(between Fort Brooke in Tampa and Fort King in Ocala). De Soto is also believed to have traveled through the area and to have uses Indian trails. Fort Foster remnants are in Hillsborough State Park.
