Macon, GA
Inexpensive, conveniently located, quiet, clean, comfortable. Those are my criteria for an overnight lodging when I travel. This no-​frills hotel ticks all the checkboxes. There are restaurants nearby, and it’s right off I-​85. I wouldn’t envision this property as a destination for a family vacation, but it’s fine for a one-​night stay if you’re traveling through North Carolina. The hotel was undergoing major renovations, so some amenities weren’t available, such as the continental breakfast or the swimming pool. But we had no complaints, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
