Cooper House Bed and Cocktail

Cooper House was recommended to me by a friend of mine, and I cannot say enough about my stay. First of all, Joy is an absolute delight. She is hilarious, kind, generous, lighthearted, fun and passionate about the area she lives in. She is active about offering info on all of the local attractions, eateries and outdoor activities in Thomas and beyond! We loved our room (we stayed in the King room, most comfortable bed) and all of the possible amenities that could be forgotten were provided on a small table. Great, strong French press coffee awaited us in the morning which we enjoyed in our room with a private, fresh pot :) And how can I forget about the cocktails?! Wine and beer available with local friends stopping by in her open door entryway to the outdoors, and gentle conversation guided effortlessly by Joy makes for great ambiance and relaxed rappour. Joy was extremely sensitive to my dietary needs (I’m vegan), and made vegan tacos (yes, please!) and provided fresh wood fired pizza from the house next door. If you’re not staying at Cooper House Bed & Cocktail, you are missing out.

Beautiful and cozy bedrooms and common areas. Tasteful decoration. Great location, restaurants and coffee shops in the same street and 15 min driving to the ski resorts. Coffee and some fruits are available at breakfast time. Thanks Joy for the cocktail evening idea! We had a fantastic time there:)

Definitely a great addition to Thomas, WV. Joy is an excellent host, her dog is sweet and friendly, the rooms are beautiful, service, food, and beverage is great. Prices are very reasonable and the town is wonderful. I look forward to coming back soon!

If you’re looking for the arts scene in the Highlands area the Cooper House is a great place to start. To add to Matt B’s review, the Purple Fiddle is right next door making a wonderful experience even better.

It’s one of those places that has personality. Definitely not a beige, cookie cutter motel, but a place with character and charm. The rooms are beautiful, the ensuite bathrooms are really nice, the owner is incredibly interesting and the books scattered about are worth a read or two. Stay here!
