We often have our company happy hours in here… its good. Sometimes the service is poor and the food is kind of OK.

The Goose’s Acre is an English pub style restaurant which sits right on the waterway. The day I went, we sat at a nice table overlooking the water so we could watch the joggers go by. It was a bit chilly outside, but the heaters built into the patio were sufficient.(Not to mention my friend had just moved from Michigan *brrrrr*). She had the Shepherd’s pie, which was perfect for the weather, her son had chicken tenders, and I had the pulled pork pizza. As a Texan, if you put BBQ on my pizza, you make my day. It was delicious, but a bit big, so I’ll share it the next time I go. The service was good as well, and we had a great time.

I’m a fan, especially for their pizza special night. They slice the price of their wood fired pizzas in half. This is a big restaurant in the Woodlands. Pizza is always a hit and they have a great selections of beers.

I am so disappointed with this place. Arrived at the top of the bar, had alcoholic drinks no one asked for ID(I’m 28) had delicious food, hence the 2 stars. Go downstairs and I get asked for ID which I didn’t have on me … The staff member was so rude about it. And I said I have been upstairs for two hours drinking in the same place and now I’m being asked to leave. She couldn’t understand my point and got the bouncers to escort us out which I found rather funny. I went home, got my ID. Went back to prove a point and was welcomed back in. Which I declined after how we was treated. Apparently we was aggressive which I also find hilarious. We was not! Very silly indeed. If the situation was handled differently I would return but I refuse to ever spend my money in there again !! Food was good, so thanks for that …

I have to say I was disappointed. I remember a wow this is a good rib dish. What used to be a full plate of on the bone beef ribs is now three medium smallish chunks of what seems like pot roast. If you want ribs don’t get this. If you want a fairly tender pot roast with good flavor try it. Skimpy on the sides. The beer selection was fair with about eight various drafts. The well drinks seemed a bit watered down, shame. The staff a bit unfamiliar with the product however very nice. Ambiance was good a true pub feel and decorations inviting and warm.

Great atmosphere, cozy feeling with the dark woods. Only place in The Woodlands that serves Smithwicks on tap. Great offering on the menu from light to bar food.

We were wanting to hang out in the Water Way area for a bit and saw they had a happy hour. They had half off chicken salads and $ 3 car bombs all day on Saturday. We went for the car bombs because we weren’t super hungry. They were decent! Their Guinness was nitro which you don’t find everywhere. The service was not great. The bar wasn’t busy at all but we didn’t get great attention. When I asked to close my tab after one round, the guy gave me this look of disgust that was palpable. Not cool dude. This place is a decent hang out spot, lots of space and a good environment to kick back and have a casual drink and meal. Check it out if you don’t mind bad service!

This place is a snotty bullshit pub. They kicked us out over something totally benign from 1 member of our party. We told them we were staying next door, not driving, and we would take care of our friend who they assessed stepped sideways one too many time. Even another of the staff agreed there wasn’t an issue yet the bouncer still insisted that one guy in our party leave. It was unreasonable, and I suspect was racial profiling. Never go to this place. They don’t deserve your business.

Ate on the patio tonight with Cynthia. Had a great time! The food was delicious, the beer was cold and Jeff Canada playing on the patio kept us hanging out all night! We will definitely be coming back every Wednesday to see Cynthia!

Came here for happy hour before oddball fest at the Cynthia pavilions. The service was quick and friendly from the hostess to our server. The manager was helping his staff and checking on tables. Overall a great experience. The artichoke dip was one of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken strips were simple and delicious. The fries were well seasoned with minced garlic and fresh herbs. Well drinks are $ 2.50 during happy hour! Off the hh menu I had the frozen peach Bellini that comes with a mini champagne bottle turned upside down in glass. Super cute and tasty!

Full disclosure: I love this place, but I will tell you why you should too! I would say that I visit Goose’s 3 – 4 times a month with friends, and have done so for well over a year. The best thing about this place? It’s a place in The Woodlands that allows dogs that is actually good! What makes Goose’s awesome is a few things, first: the food and atmosphere(even sitting oustide downstairs) are both great! I have not had that many different dishes(maybe 10) but they have all been very good. A second and major factor that went into this rating: the specials! When I said that I visit 3 – 4 times a month, it is usually on a Wednesday evening. You can get your own beer glass filled(up to 32oz) and their«original burger» while listening to live music for a grand total of ~$ 11. This is 2 pints of beer and a burger with fries we’re talking about here! Granted on occasion I have had less that great service and/or my burger was not prepared the best(bound to happen after 50+ visits) which is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. I have noticed that staff seems to be very temporary and we get a new server nearly every time we go, which has made us question the working conditions. P. S. If you make a visit yourself, request to be seated with Josh(if he is still working there), he has been by far the best server in our 50+ trips.

We stopped here for dinner since I heard it was nice to see the canal waterway. Well, my work friends were able to get a table right on the waterway. They started with a tortilla dish first which was a good appetizer followed by calamari. We then ordered our dinner and everyone seemed to get the fish and chips. I must say that it was really good and enjoyed it. The atmosphere was really nice too. Parking was $ 5 which was okay but granted the restaurant should have compensated for us.

Positives: Good food. Decent drinks. Service is good. Live music on the deck. Good atmosphere Negatives: Smoking deck. They took bangers and mash off the menu. When I asked the waitress what their specialty was she said, «Irish food, of course». Irony.

Really attentive service and great food! There along the river walk you see the sign and a very unassuming establishment, they’re dog friendly have live music and the riverboat rolls by having you daydream over your ice cold beverage on long summer nights(sigh)…truely a wonderful experience! Nxtime I’m in town I’ll be back for sure!

Quick service and nice patio area for outside dining. I had the house salad and the ribs. The salas was delicious, fresh and the apple cider vinaigrette was perfect. Now, the ribs: although tasty, they were a bit cold. They usually come out sizzling hot and fall off the bone. Unfortunately, they were not the best. The mashed potatoes were literally just mashed potatoes. I do not believe they use butter or milk to make them creamy. Any who, I was disappointed. Fiancé: the fiancé had calamari and pizza. Calamari was good, but again, it seemed as if they were sitting for a while before it was brought out to us. His pizza was the same. It was good, thin crust type of pizza. I do not think I he was very impressed either. We will try a different spot next time we come to the woodlands, but I’m sure we will be back after we try other places.

The ambiance of this place is casual and comfortable. The patio is a great place to catch up with some friends or do some people watching. The half price fish and chips on Monday are a great price. The fish is lightly fried with a tasty breading. The potato planks are tasty, although could be crispier. The happy hour prices are also pretty good. We got a couple of pitchers of beer, $ 7/pitcher.

If you work in The Woodlands close to Waterway this is a great place for lunch during the week. My coworkers and I go to Gooses acre for their half price lunch special during the week. They have a special everyday and the special lasts all day. Monday: half price fish and chips Tuesday: half price pizza Wednesday: half price burgers Thursday: wings Friday: half price shepards pie Saturday: half price signature salad Sunday: kids eat free from kids menu The Enzo pizza is my favorite pizza and the burgers on jalapeño cheddar bun are delicious! They’re regular cut fries are really good too. Can’t go wrong with this place!

Solid affordable somewhat comfort food on the Waterway. I’ve been going here for years and have always enjoyed my visits. First off if it’s nice I always sit out on their patio. You can bring your leashed dog. I haven’t brought mine yet but I’ve seen others people’s furry friends treated well :). The patio area seems to get a light breeze. They play live music in the evenings also. My usual favs are their fish and chips and the salads. They do a very good job at making their salads pop with flavor and textures. Homemade dressings are yummy and bring a completed quality taste to the salads. Hubby has tried the shepherd’s pie and found it not as authentic as it should be but that was awhile ago. Overall most entrees, apps and desserts are 4 star with a few falling short into the 2 – 3 star category. Recent years they have stepped up their beer selection to encompass most kinds and varieties of beer especially foreign. Beer flights are available at a reasonable price. You can choose from a domestic, foreign or make your own flight. Full bar also with all your hard stuff. There are actually 3 bars. One downstairs, one upstairs and a mini one outside for a few people. Most people just eat & drink relaxing at their tables. No one has ever rushed us yet making it a relaxing place to hang out. They have a daily happy hour with kids eating free on Sundays(not sure of the age range). There is also a Sunday brunch which I hope to try in the near future. Overall nice ambience and above average servers. Unilocal Review #290

Good quality food, relaxed atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were very pleasantly surprised by this place! I had their seared tuna and he had their corned beef nachos. I could taste the good quality of the tuna and it was cooked to my specifications(rare). They were cool with my desire to have substitutions with the sides and my desire for more stuff on my salad. Our waiter was attentive(without being up our butts). His nachos were full of flavor and yummy! All in all, thoroughly enjoyable and I’m glad that we went.
