All the dishes we ordered were close to perfect. The service was attentive-ish, but as someone said before, it was a little cocky. Anyhow, the ambience is nice. Unlike many other booths at restaurants, the booths here are extremely comfortable. We ordered a few cocktails and martinis that were just so-so. We then got oysters that were nice. I’d have liked them to be a little more fleshy, but that just may be the kind of oyster. It was definitely sweet-ish. The charcuterie and cheese plate had delicious salami and the espresso cheese was nice too. We also got the well-presented bone marrow which was good, as was the foie gras. For entrée, we got a toothfish which was delectable and came with a creamy rice, salmon that came with black rice with a tangy flavor(yummy), and my husband got a steak that he enjoyed. We will definitely be going back for the food.

I took my wife to H&H to celebrate a pre-Valentine’s dinner to what we had come to name our«Special Secret». In the past H&H had not disappointed us. Their food was superb and although the service was a little on the cocky side, it was a small price to pay to enjoy organic, fresh food, prepared perfectly by the chef. Lamentably, we were sorely shocked at the food on this occasion. My wife went straight to the Salmon dish but was surprised to find that the King salmon(a non-GMO salmon) was replaced by the Verlasso salmon which not only is a GMO raised farm breed fish, it has be the center of a Costo PR battle regarding the serving of GMO food. I’m not saying that the fish was bought from Costco but it does raise the question as to the selection of this fish over the other. We choose to order it with a side of Cauliflower Steak. I on the other hand, ordered the Peking Duck served over mushroom lasagna with a Lobster bisque appetizer. The bisque came out quickly enough and was not disappointing. It was followed by the Verlasso and the duck which failed to rise to the expectation of our previous visits. The Verlasso was pale in comparison to the king salmon we were accustomed to and last the flavor of the previous fish. My wife said that there was one bite that tasted extremely odd but over all it was a mediocre experience. The Cauliflower steak was extremely under seasoned and lacked the flavor expected from the dish we have ordered in the past. My duck was tough and the thought of it being used as a hockey puck did cross my mind. The lasagna was under seasoned and failed to provide any form or compliment to the duck except to separate it from the surface of the dish. So I left it on the plate as I did the fried parsley garnish. After pointing out the issue with the duck, the Maitre D, did compensate us for the dish, for that I am grateful. At the end of the evening we chose to splurge and enjoy a dessert. The White Chocolate Cheese mousse, on a pistachio cake, served with orange tuile, and lemon curd sounded delicious. But when it arrived we were both surprised as the pistachio cake was more like a pancake cut out to fit the mouse which lacked the delicate flavor of the white chocolate. I certainly hope that the chef will reconsider his choice in fish and return to the excellence we had come to expect from his kitchen.

Second time in, just as good as the first. The whole staff is awesome, Ross did a great job taking care of us, Sean(the manager) stopped by the table and said hi. Food is phenomenal, you have to try the bone marrow appetizer. Charcuterie board was also really good. The ramen is stupidly good. Honestly, this has got to be one of the best restaurants in north Houston.

We were looking forward to trying as we just moved to the Waterway. Hostess was super confused with our open table reservation. Server was agitated and unfriendly. Food which took awhile was just okay overall. Creativity is appreciated but not sure some of the combinations work. The Lamb dish although a bit undercooked was the best as it was done simple. Given the overall experience and cost probably will not return.

Hubby and I had a reservation for the Cureight Chef Tasting last night. It’s best described as an «experience» rather than a meal… one you’ll want to repeat for every special occasion! A reservation is required in advance since the Chef tasting experience is not part of the regular menu. It’s a price fixe evening. Quick note here, our only disappointment of the night was that the wine pairing is not included however, your greeted by your host who walks you through the experience and offers you two menus: wine paired and exotic pairing. No mention of the $ 50/pp up charge and no offered menu without the pairing so we were unaware this was going to be an additional charge. That aside, the meal was absolutely amazing! We started with a king crab appetizer. I wish I could better describe these dishes, please peruse the pics as my words will not adequately describe. The crab was fantastic and I love that the host/server explains each course and how the Chef intended for it to be eaten: dip each bite in some of the coconut cream mousse for this course. Next came our new favorite, Oyster & Pearl Caviar with truffle cream. I simply can’t describe the explosion of creamy flavor rolling over my tongue, but we were told it’s such a crowd pleaser that it’s now always one of the courses on the tasting menu(which changes monthly). Course Three was toothfish(think Chilean sea bass) and mussels. This too was very good and different from any other preparation I’ve had before. 4th, The Hudson Valley Foie Gras was a new experience for me but I really enjoyed that it was seared and added that extra texture and flavor. I was very skeptical going into that dish but ended up enjoying it very much. Fifth we tried Rohan Duck which we learned is a hybrid of Peking and Mallard duck. It was very good and, like everything else, extremely flavorful and unique. I never realized how sensational duck could be! Sixth and main, was called 72 hour short rib. This meat simply melts in your mouth and then explodes in flavor. I wanted to savor every-single-bite! There was an option on this course to upgrade to A5 Wagyu beef for $ 25 here. As a short rib fan, I didn’t upgrade and I wasn’t disappointed. The short ribs were amazing; I can’t imagine the Wagyu is any better, but I didn’t try it. I think I may have whimpered when I finished this course as I mourned it ending. The last two courses consisted of a palette cleansing sorbet and then a nice cake with caramel cream(similar to flan). I did this with the exotic pairing so each course was accompanied by a wine or cocktail individually selected by the sommelier to compliment the food. That too, was extremely well chosen and enhanced the overall experience. However, as previously mentioned, would’ve liked to know the up charge at the beginning, just as they did for the Wagyu. When I go back, I’ll likely pair again as I truly enjoyed it. At the beginning of each course our host/server explained what was coming, what region the food was from, some history of the ingredients and recommendations on how to enjoy it fully. I loved that aspect of the experience and freely asked questions and interacted with this extremely intelligent young man(Adam). The Chef personally visited the tables at the last course and was a joy to meet. He’s extremely talented yet presents with no ego.(And he’s engaged so I’m already envious of the meals he’ll surely prepare for his wife) I will go again, especially since the menu changes often. This Cureight truly was an unforgettable Experience.

Went for lunch — greeted n sat promptly. Tempting menu that changes frequently… Everything looks amazing! Caesar salad(too large) and the Dressing superb!(I wished someone would’ve offered fresh cracked pepper .) I ordered Shrimp and Potato gnocchi… Presentation was unexpected… a few gnocchi(which is fine) each the size of two thumbs tops placed on bottom of the dish. Gnocchi were lightly browned, but the inside was VERY mushy and lacked consistency. On top and totally covering gnocchi, was a huge heap of lightly dressed mixed greens and on top of that. Handful of perfectly grilled shrimp. All in all– it was pretty darn good! Ps — I love doughy goods so gnocchi was interesting ;-) My table mate ordered same salad and enjoyed scallops… and… I gave her half my entrée.(I felt sorry when I saw her plate. although server said sides are ordered separately. She declined. Which is ok, but her entrée looked pretty sad and bare…) Mike was a gracious server and our drinks were never below 4 sips :-) The only constructive feedback to share is for the talented Chef: It’s all about presentation(and of course, taste/product) … to serve beautiful, lonely simple scallops all huddled together on a cavernous naked white plate — was generic, bland and sad. It would be lovely to add a handful of lightly dressed greens or even a swirl of sauce to artsy it up a bit and make it visually memorable for your guest. All in all — thumbs up! Would I be back? .but of course! Pss — how I miss the Hubble & Hudson Market and Viking Cooking School. Sniffle, sniffle.

We ate here for New Year’s Eve and had such a great time. The restaurant was decorated and all the waiters and waitresses were dressed up for the Great Gatsby theme. The drinks were fantastic(Bees Knees and Espresso martini) and the food was a great final meal for 2015! I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Beef Tenderloin and without a doubt would reorder it all. The menu was fixed for this event but there was a lot of variety on the menu so I think everyone was happy. The price for the meal was also fixed and increased as the reservation time got later. This place is expensive, but I would be shocked if you didnt already know that walking into the place. While expensive I think the food is fantastic and well worth the occasional splurge!

For the hype and price Hubbell and Hudson is underwhelming to say the least. This is my second time there and quite frankly the last time the food was just as unmemorable. We started off with the Artisan Bread Board which was very good, the Brioche in particular was outstanding. Add to this a small batch of Garlic Hummus and the Sundried Tomato Paste and what more could one ask for. This unfortunately is also where the whole gastronomic experience took a nosedive. For our main entrees our party of four choose the Filet Tasting, The Patagonian Toothfish(a.k.a. Chilean Seabass) and two Jerk Chickens. There seems to be a discrepancy between the menu posted on the website and the one offered at the restaurant. Three of us really wanted the Salmon and while it showed up online it wasn’t an option at the restaurant. When we asked the server said the salmon had been discontinued several months ago. So they were kind enough to substitute the Patagonian Toothfish for the lunch version of the Salmon. The other two of us changed to the Jerk Chicken instead — Big Mistake, HUGE! Since I was one of the unlucky two to order the Jerk Chicken the review is predominantly about it. For some reason the Jerk Chicken is labeled as Airline Chicken on the bill, a much more befitting name for this dish, given that it was tasteless just like airline food. I have had my fair share of Jerk Chicken, I know what Jerk Chicken tastes like and this wasn’t it. From an execution standpoint, the breast was moist(good thing) but slightly underdone(not a good thing, Salmonella and all that good stuff). The accompanying Green Beans and Fingerling Potatoes were good on their own but nothing to write home about. The only saving grace was the goat cheese/sundried pesto which gave it a modicum of flavor but unfortunately it was in such a minuscule quantity that I was only able to apply it to about a third of the chicken. Throughout dinner I was eyeing my friend’s Peppercorn sauce in the hopes that he would not eat it and I could use it to augment the flavor of my dish, but alas he ate it all. Our friend who also ordered the dreaded chicken ate a few bites and left ¾ of it on the plate. So, presumably her sentiments were quite similar to mine. For dessert we had a Peanut Butter Mousse and a Bread Pudding. I really do admire the servers in their ability to tout items as the greatest thing on Earth since sliced bread. As she served the Bread Pudding she was telling us about the home made Hazelnut ice cream on the Bread Pudding, home made? Really did the Pastry Chef make it at her house as homework and brought it to work — oh well semantics, I know. Home made or not, I would have preferred a scoop of Ben and Jerry’s. Were it not for the company of great friends I would have been very disappointed. As such the evening was still enjoyable and fun despite the mediocre culinary experience. Would I go back? For the Artisan Bread Board absolutely for the rest of the food nah.

Christmas meal was really very good. Couldn’t bring myself to try the bone marrow but our waiter was so good he almost talked me into it believe it or not. I chose the tuna appetizer and my husband the fog and parm appetizer. I had the lobster pot pie as main course and he had prime rib. I thought the fog and parm was amazing! Huge portion. Tuna was good but as expected and really too much tuna. I’ve had more unique and good tuna. Prime rib was fabulous. Lobster pot pie excellent! Both deserts ok. Good but nothing to write about. Chef is very unique and staff seems to be very well trained and top notch

Came here for dinner after a company holiday party. We were looking forward to going but the overall meal is average. I started with a very dry grey goose martini but there is no garnish. It looks like such a sad martini but the flavor is okay. We selected the Alpha Omega II wine and asked for it to be decanted. The wine is flavorful and good price point. On to the foods: We wanted to try the foie gras but would like a glass of sauterne. There was no sauterne by the glass listed but our server spoke with the manager and made it happen for us. The foie gras and brioche is decent but the accompanying sauce was so-so. Roasted bone marrow is good. Beets salad is good with goat cheese and lightly dressed. Wedge salad is decent. Pork chop has too much cumin that it overpowered the meat and very disappointing. Made it inedible. Akaushi filet is tender and cooked perfectly to a rare plus. It needed a bit more salt and pepper crust. Green beans have some kind of mayonnaise flavor(not sure if there is any mayonnaise but tasted that way). Mushrooms have a tomato based. Both of these are disappointing. Truffle fries okay. Tried the chocolate croquettes, s’mores chocolate cake, and peanut butter cup. All decent along with espresso and latte. Overall experience is average but friendly and casual place.

Excellent choice when in The Woodlands near the water way. It was not as loud as some of the other places I have dined here but I could see that it has that potential. Also you really cannot go wrong with the prime rib!

Perusing the menu, I was all set to get the Reuben sandwich, but as luck would have it, the chef was featuring a short rib sandwich. Luckily, we were both on the same page with menu selections, and decided to get both and split them. The short rib was perfectly tender and sat in between a house made English muffin, sweet pickles, tomatoes, and an herbaceous sauce to bring it all together. The Reuben was also tasty, with thin slices of corned beef balanced out with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and just the right amount of dressing. On the side, we tried the truffle parmesan fries which were lacking in the truffle flavor. Maybe that’s why they served them with ketchup, since they needed a little something extra. Service was friendly and the clean lines of the restaurant created a nice backdrop for a modern, yet comfortable dining experience.

This is a great little place for a romantic date. The atmosphere is casual but the food is more upscale. We walked in on a Saturday night and got a table on the patio right away. Their drink menu is very expansive, but I recommend trying one of their craft mixed drinks. They’re made fresh at the bar with fresh fruit. I had the old fashioned and it was delicious if you’re a whisky fan. For an appetizer we had the cheese tray which was plenty for two. As an entrée I had the rabbit and veal pasta. It was incredible. I highly recommend it. The only reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 was because when we called before they said they were booked and the lounge/bar was first come fist served. But when we showed there was plenty of tables available all night. Then when our bill came there were two drinks on it we didn’t order. Other than that it’s a great place to eat. Plenty of variety for everyone.

Normally I would really want to give them 5 stars, as I do like this place a lot. But 2 things happened: — I called on my way over and they said they were completely full until 9 pm, but I could sit at the bar or in the lounge as it was first come first served. So we headed there anyway, as it was my first choice. The bar and lounge had plenty of seating, but they told me at the hostess desk that we could sit on the patio and with the beautiful weather I chose that option. However, the restaurant was nowhere near full. And I understand there are reservations for different times, etc. However we were there for an hour and a half and it was never full, not even upon our exit… on a Saturday night. –The bill came with 2 additional drinks on it, I had to get our waitress to go back and take them off. With that out of the way… I LOVE this place for everything else. The menu always has a great variety. I always get the cheese & charcuterie to start with and I am never disappointed. This time we had a Maytag blue cheese, a manchego and a ricotta with pickled mustard cheese and micro greens, 2 types of prosciutto, toasted baguette, pickled veggies and truffle honey. It was fantastic. The craft drinks alone are worth the trip here. The ruby red martini is my favorite. They used to have a delicious lemoncello martini, maybe try just ordering it next time. But it’s all craft and the perfect sweetness to be done just right. I ordered the Peruvian Scallops for my entrée and there were about 12 scallops! Atop a perfectly done risotto, rich and creamy with garlic wilted spinach. The presentation was pretty, as well, as I admire beautiful presentation. My boyfriend got the lamb and rabbit pasta. I won’t eat veal, but he said it was excellent and it looked very well done. If you’re looking for a nice romantic night out, they have fire places and a great ambiance about the whole place. The patio can be much less romantic as the street is fight there and it’s got heavy foot and road traffic. But with nice weather it is pleasant.

Chef Austin does an amazing job! Came here for lunch, sat at the bar since I was alone, & had the salmon burger. Chef was able to give me a side of steamed spinach — with an Asian twist! Lisa at the bar was so friendly & helpful as well. Loved the whole experience so much that I told my husband we’re having dinner there as well! The menu is just so delicious, even caters to vegetarians. We both had the monk fish & Chilean sea bass(MSC certified) & they were amazing! Our friend had a vegetarian dish w. a side of mustard Brussels sprouts that were really really good. Our waitstaff was very efficient & friendly as well. We may go back for lunch today before we depart for NY. Highly recommended! Oh yes, dress smartly — the restaurant is so «sexy» and chic that you’d really feel out of place dressed too casually.

2nd visit. Scratch kitchen restaurant that is excellent! Atmosphere inside is nice; patio is as well. We’ve only sat on patio because we like outside dining. Genuine high-end chef quality ingredients and presentation. Very creative recipe paring. Nice selection of wines and spirits. Must have Fog & Parm and the Thai Shrimp Cocktail for apps. Must have Bronzino(Mediterranean Sea Bass) for entrée. Again, 2nd visit and did not disappoint.

5 star experience! We came here for a company dinner with 20 people. Service was great, wine was constantly refilled before it reached the bottom, water as well ;) Appetizers were either a Cesar salad or a French onion soup and I really regret that I chose the salad(don’t get me wrong, it was great, but a salad is still a salad!). For the entrée I picked the pasta with crab meat! AAMAAZING! Best choice! But careful: creamy sauce = very filling = very much worth it! The steak, salmon and mushroom lasagne also looked great. Desert was a selection of ice cream, lemon tart and cake, super mini, super good! Summary of the night: you can’t go wrong, no matter what you choose, but make sure to come with a full wallet!

Me and my husband were looking on Unilocal for a place where we could have a nice dinner for our 3rd anniversary. And we are so glad that we found this Bistro! Service was great! We were told about their specials and quick review about the menu and recommendations! Everything we’ve tried was fantastic! Just one thing — it would be great if they would have free bread rolls or something(which doesn’t cost to take a star away). This place we would definitely recommend to friends!!!

A very nice adult restaurant for us adults that enjoy food, relaxed service, and time to eat slowly and think about the day(or socialize with friends and family). Since it was lunch and I was alone, I just people watched :) I had and truly enjoyed the lunch menu Short Ribs Bolognese with the Vermont Mac&Cheese for a side. If there weren’t people looking I would have put my face into each bowl and licked them clean too. Parking sucks around here though. Really blows.

My top selection for the woodlands. Lamb with fennel is a favorite. Also try seafood dishes. Austin Simmons brings creativity to every meal. So everything is great. Servers are not only accommodating but knowledgable of food and wine. Give the chef’s table a try. New lunch menu is awesome. New salads, large selection of high quality proteins you combine with a selection bistro sides. Son had head on shrimp considered a second round. Wife had sous vide and then fried chicken I had to steal off her plate. Time honored favorites are also still on the menu.
