Ok. So this was recommended to us as we recently moved to the woodlands. I love Italian food and have been to Italy numerous times and eat Italian everywhere in the US. This place is a poor excuse for Italian. Do not waste your time Stared with the buffalo mozzarella and baked prosciutto. The prosciutto on the bread was so small it was hard to find. But nevertheless very tasty Ceasar salad was next and pretty good. Not bad. Portions pretty small. My wife had the cucino pollo. Not bad. Kind of bland I had the veal Parmesan with a side of fettuccini and Alfredo. To start. The marinara on the Parmesan no doubt came from a can. I read this in reviews before I came but could not believe that was possible. 100% canned marinara. I had my wife try it before telling her and she immediately recognized the taste. The veal besides that was decent at best. The alfredo sauce extremely bland and nothing to remember. Nothing stood out. Nothing to remember. Nothing to ever order again. Overall not close to decent Italian. And the wine. The wine list from Italy consist of 5 or 6 bottles. And extremely marked up. Ruffino Chianti at 45 $. Silver oak cab at 250 $. Caymus 40th at 160 $. Might go back because the wife thought it was decent and liked the ambiance. Waiters were very friendly

Caprese Salad was substantial. Pizza is certainly nothing special. But the spaghetti THESPAGETTI, is wonderful: homemade pasta is always a surprisingly welcome treat at any Italian restaurant. Also strawberry dessert cake is really fantastic.

Do you take delight in eating bland food? Do you cherish those times when your food has been sitting around to get nice and cold? If your answer was a resounding, «NO!» then DONOT waste your time or money here. Not only was the food repulsive, but they had absolutely TERRIBLE service. They took FOREVER to take our order, serve our drinks, and bring the food. I have absolutely NO idea why this place has good reviews. I cannot fathom it. Please, please, PLEASE do yourself a favor and NEVEREVER come here.

We came for our first time with a $ 15 certificate in the mail. We found out it’s a family owned Restaurant as well. Food was ok. Nothing special. I ordered the Steak salad and forgot it’s an Italian Restaurant. Knowing this After makes a huge difference! It wasn’t that good. The steak was good but the salad and the horse radish ranch dressing was different. I didn’t pour the dressing on the salad… I’ve had better«steak salad» elsewhere. My husband had one of their pasta dishes and he was pretty impressed. I must say their brownie with gelato vanilla ice cream is Good! Gelato ice cream very smooth in the mouth! They say it’s kid friendly, but I think this place was pretty fancy. Our waitress was really nice and friendly to our little ones, who were kind of loud.

I ordered an antipasto and cesar salad for 20 – 24 people for a party that I was having and arranged to pick them up at 2:00 on the day of the party. When I arrived at the restaurant there was no one there to help me, I waited and waited and then I noticed a bag on one of the bar stools. It looked like it might be part of my order. Eventually someone came out of the kitchen and said that it was my order. The one platter was supposed to be antipasto with meat and cheeses. I could not see any meat on the platter, it just looked like a large salad. I asked the server where was the meat in the description of the platter. She said the person who made it was out, but that she would call him. She came back and said that he told her that the prosciutto was underneath lettuce and vegetables and asked if I wanted her to take it apart. She also told me that the dark object in the center was ham. At this point, I had been at the restaurant almost a half an hour and really didn’t have any more time. Hours later when I opened it up, the«ham» turned out to be a portobello mushroom and there was no meat on the platter at all. I have called the restaurant repeatedly and asked to speak to catering manager or the owner; no one has called back.

Italian restaurants run the gamut from dive to fine dining, and on that spectrum the trattoria is traditionally a mean between the osteria and the more formal ristorante. Their appellation is mostly accurate. It’s a family-run establishment that has a patio and a kids’ menu. Entrees are moderated priced in the $ 15 – 20 range and include bread and salad. They prepare food that«looks and sounds good together,» so it’s more classic Italian than haute cuisine. However, even though Unilocal says that the attire is casual, they have gone the route of white tablecloths(so no crayons were provided to color on them), and it’s clearly a date-spot for some patrons. Thus, our active-wear drew some looks. Thankfully we weren’t the only ones. I enjoyed the lasagna.

I will start by saying we were part of a large group. So your experience may vary with fewer people. We ordered our food. The plates came out at very uneven times. Some folks were already packing up to-go boxes while our table was still waiting on our entrees to arrive. The service overall was very slow. I ordered the rib-eye. It had soooo much fat on it that I spent the majority of the time cutting around it. After I finished eating, I had a gigantic pile of fat remaining on the plate. That brings me to the next item. With a steak of such poor quality, I was surprised when I saw the drink prices. The prices were that of a fine restaurant like Bob’s or Del Frisco’s. The drinks averaged around 11 – 12.50 for cocktails. If the food was of better quality, no problem. With the quality of our food, I had a serious problem with the drink prices. For me, the only thing going for this places is the friendly wait staff. Food quality — thumbs down Speed — thumbs down Value — thumbs down Ability to handle large groups — thumbs down I would like to see how the experience is with a smaller group, but due to the experience we had, we probably won’t try it again.

Staff is super friendly and not only is the food excellent, the portions are plentiful. Their desserts are out of this world good too. Family owned and operated. Very nice patio and a nice wine selection too. Live music on the patio regularly but I think it’s mostly weekends. Finally, great place to have a private party, business or pleasure.

I finally got around to eating at La Trattoria this week. It was a hot summer day so I had a salad with goat cheese, which was good. But we were in the mood for something sweet and when our server told us the tiramisu was made that day, I couldn’t resist. It was amazing! Light and airy, just as it should be. Perfect for summer! I look forward to returning to try something more than a salad, but I will make sure to leave room for dessert!

We thought this was more of a casual eatery but you’ll find white linens and wine glasses on the tables and a few scattered dates. None of which I was expecting when I walked in with ripped jeans, flip flops and my kids. Ugh.(You’d think I raided the Clampett’s closet). It’s unassuming with outdoor seating and we were treated very well. The host who sat us down was very cordial and funny and said we were«fine» when I commented on how«fancy» the restaurant was and that I didn’t come in my best dress. So that was very much appreciated. A kids menu was available and the servings were a good size however the kids fetuccini was a bit bland.(of course I did a taste test!) I ordered their soup of the day(Vegetable Bisque) and it was good nothing outstanding. Just too bland for my liking. Mr. G ordered the Minestrone and ravioli, he was very satisfied. The house Chianti was a nice blend but a little too bold for me. Service was friendly but sitting in front of a date with kids was a buzz kill for us

Just finished a tortuous dinner on the patio. Food is actually OK. Service is also fine. Wine prices are outrageous; at least 4x list. The Friday/Sat nite singer is so deafeningly loud it is impossible to hope to have a conversation with your dinner partner. Provided feedback on the sound level to management. Response was ‘don’t come on Friday or Saturday”.

Meh. Nothing special at all with the food. Service was good and the establishment is nice but the food is safe and very middle-of-the-road. The caesar’s salad was passable, the potatoes had absolutely no flavor and the steak was good but not great. The steak was about the same quality as a run-of-the-mill chain restaurant.

Great family owned Italian. Welcoming atmosphere and food make it. Passionate management and staff. Just added brunch. Great patio.

I always feel welcomed whenever I come here and the service and level of attention are remarkable. The food is great and the staff goes out of its way to accommodate us when I bring my elderly parents, but it’s not an old people’s restaurant. We have never been disappointed. I will keep returning because I can always count on a great experience.

This place is our family spot, we come here nearly every night when the family gets together. My Top 3 Favorite Foods on the Menu are: 1) The Mussels 2) The Works Pizza 3) Calamari If it’s your first time, I recommend the Works Pizza.

Me and my family came here for the first time today, in my opinion, the service was excellent, our waiter was funny, the food was ready super quickly and it looked like he really loved what he was doing, his name was Richard I believe? I recommend this place and will most likely be coming back, the chicken parm and the calamari are absolutely amazing. The only thing I noticed, I don’t think they have a hostess so it might be a little slower in their busy hours.

First time here. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Had dinner with girlfriends. We had a great time. Our waiter Thomas was great. The food was delicious. Best fried calamari ever! They have an excellent wine selection and will let you taste the wine before you decide on a glass. We’ll definitely have to come back on a Monday, it’s ½ off bottles of wine ;)

First visit and I am very pleased. I came with a party of 7 for lunch. Seated promptly, served quickly and our waiter Thomas was great! All the dishes we ordered tastes really great. Ingredients seemed fresh, shrimp and chicken cooked right, the bread basket was even great! I’ve really grown tiresome of continuously searching for a great tasting Italian restaurant. I would probably compare this to a grotto’s or Mia Bella but then not even bc I like this food much better! Although not a convenient location I will make my way back again. the place has a great setup for large groups or parties and the patio outside would be great when it’s cooler out and the restrooms are CLEAN! I loved it!

We came here this evening with a large group. The spinach artichoke dip was good. However, the marinara sauce tasted canned and the chicken tasted like it had been frozen. In addition, there was a visible and used microwave in the open kitchen. After seeing the microwave used twice while we waited for our food, the manager(?) couldn’t give me a clear answer as to what the microwave was used for. Don’t really feel a need to go back. I can make better Italian cuisine at home.

Such a relaxing restaurant with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Almost a slight romantic atmosphere depending on where you’re sitting. I have been here many times for lunch which I think had better quality food and decent prices. The few times I ate here for dinner, one time I ordered off their daily specials and found my entrée to have a slight upscale and gourmet food taste. The other time I dined in for dinner I wasn’t impressed with the generic not fresh made taste. Third dinner was a $ 50 to go bag of 2 entrees, an appetizer and a small soup plus tax and tip. While sitting at the bar not drinking, waiting for my to go order, I asked the man at the bar if they freshly cook the food on premise or get it from vendors prepared in advance. He responded that much of their food does come from a few different vendors and some is made in-house. I told him it seemed like my last dinner didn’t have that made from scratch taste as in freshly cooked. The man nicely packaged my food and I generously tipped him because of the amount if time he spent packaging my food up. Well I get home and unpacked the food and both our chicken entrée and veal Marsala really had no flavor — totally bland! The sauce had some flavor. The chicken and veal tasted like vendor food frozen to long. Hubby was pissed! He said, and I agree, it just tasted like they poured a sauce over each meat portion but the flavors never came together. Kind of reminded me of my old unwise Olive Garden eating days well over a decade ago. Except this food was worse now. The soup tasted like it came right from a can. No homemade fresh herb taste. The calamari was average and the sauce had a generic can/jar taste. Hubby made me swear to never order from here again. Unfortunately it was that flavorless and was lacking a fresh cooked taste. Btw the chicken was vendor food(I asked). I bet most of their food was vendor food :(. Not to mention the price point was high for the quality. Too bad because the restaurant is fairly local and has a somewhat nice atmosphere. All I can suggest is ask them if they make the food from a totally raw state. Hopefully they will be totally honest. Or if you have well developed taste buds they will tell you. After my last last 3 visits all I can say if Meh quality. Btw that did include a quick lunch. If your taste buds are not well developed you may be happy. After all just look at Olive Garden’s parking lot.
