I previously frequently Kita and really enjoyed it. I haven’t been for a while and Sunday night for the first time in 8 months on a Sunday night. I noticed the place was completely empty, which was a surprise. I found the menu was very different, and quite a bit more expensive than before. The food was OK, not great as before. For some reason, I used a credit card I seldom use. The next morning, I got a call from the credit card company about attempted fraud on my card for $ 1860 to some online bookstore. Since I haven’t used that card for a month, and then have this happen, I called the Manager of Kita and explained he may have a problem. Without hearing my full situation, he interrupted me began explaining great detail how it would be impossible to get the necessary information to do such a thing. He went on for so long, I started thinking he has had the problem before. The bottom line, I’ll never go back as long as it is under that ownership. Actually, I had that thought BEFORE the credit card fraud. Patrons Beware!!!

This place is alright. It is very nice atmosphere and the food is decent. They like their prices though. It is expensive and there are other locations in the woodlands that have lower prices and better Japanese food, look on Unilocal you’ll find them. The one thing this place does have going for it: location, location, location. Do not go if you need to catch a movie, service is a bit slow and confused. Telling them you have limited time will not speed things up, they’re confused.

I’m sorry some people have had an unpleasant experience at this nice place. We were there for dinner and yes, things were a bit pricey, but we were prepared for that. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the salad with the house dressing and my hibachi steak and shrimp were perfectly cooked. My companions had hibachi steak and scallops, and 3 sushi rolls that I won’t even begin to name cause that’s not my thing, but they were equally pleased with the quality and presentation of their meals. Our waitress, Ashley, was pleasant and helpful, and most attentive. She was concerned that our every need was met and was knowledgeable enough to make reliable suggestions. The manager was visible and helped out when appropriate. I was glad to hear about the happy hour and that sounds like a way to make visits to this lovely restaurant a more affordable and frequent event.

I will never eat here again. The soy sauce had white specs in it. After a sniff test it was clear the sauce had not used or the cup cleaned in a long time. I grabbed another one from a different table only to find the same thing. After the mgr sniffed she acknowledged something was wrong.

Slipped in for happy hour prices just in time. That made the sushi affordable and it was really delicious. It’s a bit out of my price range if it hadn’t been for the the happy hour prices but it was a fun date place. I want to come back and try some more of their rolls.

I really wish I could give Kita more than just 1 star. I find the food to be really good — yummy udon noodle soup served in a beautiful iron and wood bowl, and tasty sushi. You’d think I would at least give them a 4 just for the great food, but the poor service and management really rains on the parade. Kita is only worth 1 star in my opinion. Kita is really failing on giving customers a great dining experience. Wait time on food(even if the restaurant is empty) is terrible. Waiters aren’t interested in helping out. The sushi staff and kitchen staff seem to not really care about making and serving the food in an timely fashion. So, that being said, Kita has great food, but don’t waste your time or money there. You’ll have a better time enjoying a meal at a different establishment where they really care about customer satisfaction. Bye, Kita!

Food was good but HORRIBLE treatment by manager. They triple-charged my credit card and then when I showed them the mistake, they laughed at me and claimed it didn’t happen. Very rude. Had to get bank to fight the extra charges. Avoid at all costs.

Decent food but almost comically terrible service. On three separate occasions, we had to prompt our server to ask us for our choice on a menu option. The comment each time was: «You can have it if you want to.» One of these times was when we realized we had not received a salad so we asked about it toward the end of the meal. She said, «I can bring it if you want me to.» No apology, no offer to make it right. Just kind of seemed annoyed that we had even asked about it. It’s not worth the trouble to go here.

This is the third time that I have visited the restaurant and the service was very inadequate. We sat the in bar area for 15 minutes without anyone behind the bar. The bartender was serving patrons in the entire bar and outside. Our order was delivered in two separate orders 25 minutes apart which prompted us to ask where the rest of the order was? I had to ask three times to have refills and it again took forever to get the check. We spent and hour and 45 minutes in the restaurant and we ordered within the first 15 minutes and left after we finished eating. So we spent and hour and thirty minutes to eat here? Hardly worth the wait. We won’t be returning do to lack of urgency by all wait staff and chefs. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded and we had 2 people in our party? Somethings got to give?

Kita has good tasting sushi, and a wonderfully skilled bartender. They can get crowded during the usual high traffic times but I never eat then so it works out fine. The escolar is dee-licious!

Way understaffed. Took over two hours for a four person party. Need much more staff, couldn’t imagine if tonight was busy(we went after 7 on a Tuesday) Food is delicious but service was awful. Took 30 min to order(no one stopped by even for drinks). Entire meal almost took 2 hours. Desert looked good but we didn’t even order due to how long dinner took. Several parties, including a party of 10 just walked out. Woefully understaffed. Will not dine again.
