A Paddle Board Life

I haven’t written a Unilocal review for a while… due to laziness… but I had to get back on Unilocal to give 5 stars to A Paddle Board Life! The 45-​minute drive was worth the 1.5 hours of fun. We chose this place because it was the only one around Dallas that allows dogs of all sizes… and we wanted to enjoy the experience with our dog child. The one at white rock lake has a limit on the size of dog.
The private park charges $ 5 per person for admission, but I believe they accept credit cards. I called a few days ahead for a reservation, and they were pretty open on that Sunday morning. We got the big yellow board so that we could bring our golden retriever out on the water with us. They provided us with lifejackets and I think they also have dog lifejackets if you don’t have your own. This was our first time, so one of the owners came down to the water and provided a brief orientation and helped us get in the water. The lake is very calm and there were very few jetskis and motorized boats, so it was easy to stand up on the paddle board. This was such a relaxing experience!!! When we returned after an hour, they said that we could stay out longer if we wanted… and of course we took them up on that offer! We got the Unilocal deal and there were no problems redeeming it. We will definitely be back!!! Such a nice family owned business.

My friends and I have been using A Paddle Board Life for awhile now. We get paddle boarding deals through Groupon or HomeRun for 2-​hour paddleboarding for $ 35 (2 people). Make sure you make a reservation first. I believe this is a family-​owned business. Service here is always friendly and helpful. You go into the Hidden Cove park, pay $ 5 per person to park and then head to the «little house on the hill» to check in. You sign a waiver, get your life jackets, and get directed to the end of the hill where another staff member awaits you with paddle boards and instructions. I believe they also rent out kayaks, jet skis, floaties. The area you can paddle board on is a wake-​free zone so it’s fairly safe & smooth. Might get a little rough on windy days or if there are too many watercrafts out that day. The only bad thing is the mud along the shoreline. Bring your cheap flip flops or wear water shoes. A Paddle Board Life does have a hose outside where you can rinse the mud off though. There’s picnic areas, swimming areas, and rentals for your day at the lake. The park closes at 10 pm.
