Without a doubt, the best restaurant on the westbank(and beyond). Freshly baked french bread will melt in your mouth. Everything there is fabulously delicious.

This is about as good as it gets on the Westbank of New Orleans! The food and the service here is fantastic! The stuffed pork chops are to die for!

We love this place. It is nice to have a classy place to dine in the West Bank. Food is great, the best service we’ve ever had. It is specially nice when they greet you by your first name.

My husband took me here for my birthday. The service was outstanding, the food was amazing. Had the seared scallops(to die for) and we shared a «melt in your mouth» filet and the crispy snapper with amazing side of pimento cheese grits. Everything was on point and even the portion sizes were perfect. We will definitely be back.

By far the best steakhouse in the Metro Area. Located on the Westbank, we have never had a bad meal. Steaks are always cooked to perfection sides are plentiful and flavorful. Everything is fresh made to order. Ranks better then Ruth’s, Mortons, Mr. John’s. A must try.

The best food on the West Bank. In the top ten in New Orleans. You could order a steak but you would be missing out on some great local food. Try anything with the use smoked duck in it.

No doubt best«nice restaurant» on the westbank. The location may throw you off(shares a parking lot with take-out window daiquiri place) and building is pretty small. But, yes there’s a but, it’s good stuff. Steaks that rival many of the better steakhouses and not just run of the mill sides either. The soups and salads are usually pretty good and the service is always friendly and attentive. Really it’s an intimate place to have dinner with date. And, with the added bonus that you can get a gallon of 190 to go next door and see where that gets ya.

I absolutely love this place. We went here the other day for dinner after a LONG day for both of us. We didn’t have a reservation and were greeted and seated by the staff and owner Ken. Its always nice to see friendly faces when we go out to dinner. Well the best part is that they keep changing the menu to try new things and its usually AWESOME. Only thing is that every time they put a new item on the menu, an older item is gone… its so damn good. I want it all. I have been hooked on their prime rib for years and recently had their filet and it was amazing. Not like other steakhouses which soak their steak in butter. This place does it right. You taste the steak and it melts in your mouth. Its late at night and I’m writing this review and its making me hungry. Next time you go order: Apps…scallops also the oyster cheesecake Entrée…can’t go wrong with either the filet or the prime rib Sides…the cream spinach is DELICIOUS Dessert…white chocolate bread pudding

Anyone who know me, know that I’m not a huge steak. eater. I decided to get one on my first visit to O’Brien’s. I had heard the phrase, «melts in your mouth,» but I always assumed it was in reference to ice cream or cheese. The steak at O’Brien’s flat out melted with each bite. Hands down, the best steak I’ve ever had. The sauteed spinach would make Popeye moist, and truffle Mac and cheese was top notch. I loved everything about the place.

Roasted duck, scallops cooked to perfection, Creole tomato basil soup, Irish dip sandwich made Paleo friendly… Oh my! Every dish had flavors that worked together almost magically. For instance the duck with wilted salad and and goat cheese encrusted with Sage and a few other flavors– altogether they are magic.

It’s pretty insane that it’s taken me this long to get to O’Briens. This lovely restaurant is, after all, practically located in my back yard. Nevertheless, it wasn’t until recently that I was able to sit down and enjoy a meal here. We stopped in for a Friday for lunch at around one. Even though it was a bit after the typical«lunch rush’ there was a good crowd in the medium sized dining room, but we were still seated quickly. Just a heads up: if you are looking to have dinner here, you are going to have to make a reservation. The place is pretty small and I would bet that they get packed at dinner time. Everything on the menu sounded just amazing. Duck quesadillas? Whoa. Prime Rib sandwich? Irish Dip? Everything just sounds incredible. I decided to go with the Panko crusted gulf shrimp on a bed of truffle mac and cheese. Yeah, you read that right: truffle mac and cheese. You should know by now that I love mac and cheese and I adore fancy mac and cheese. As soon as I saw that mac and cheese was on the menu at this fancy pants restaurant, I was in. After a short wait out came the shrimp and mac and cheese. WHOA. This food is amazing! The shrimp is perfectly battered and fried and the mac and cheese is creamy, rich and ridiculously good. Not only that, but the portion is more than generous. Before my entrée came, I was regretting not getting an appetizer, but as soon as this magic was put in front of me that regret vanished. The staff was super attentive and was really good at refilling my iced tea and coffee as soon as it was needed. They made sure that we were enjoying everything and had everything that we needed. Be aware: yes, this is the Westbank, but this is a fine dining establishment; please dress accordingly. As Morgan said, there are white table cloths on the tables and the service is top notch, so leave the short shorts and tank tops at home. I can’t wait to go back and try more of this amazing menu! I definitely hope to return sooner rather than later, especially since the restaurant is so close to me.

My partner and I ate here Tuesday night I must say we both was very pleased with the whole experience. Our sever, Mandy was awesome! I love red snapper and I must say they did a great job preparing it. My partner was craving prime rib and he said when it ate it it was like satisfying an itch. He said it was mouth watering. I will be going back. This is on my list of my favorite places to eat as of now.

We went tonight for our anniversary and for our appetizer we had crab meat dip(that was pretty good). For the entrée I ordered a Dinner cut Filet cooked Medium(39) and she ordered the short ribs(32). As soon as I cut into the steak my girlfriend noticed before I did that it was raw, not rare, RAW! So i asked the waitress(who seemed like she was uninterested in being there) if she would take it back and make it medium. So she did and 2 minutes later brought it back and it was cooked up to right below rare… I would have sent it back but I did not see our waitress for 20 mins and by that time my girlfriend was finished. So i asked for the bill and to my surprise the steak was on the bill. I did not take a single bite of the steak before she took it away. I firmly believe that if you eat the steak you pay for it. But in this case I never tasted it… Yes, I paid the bill without even asking or making a scene. The gentleman who brought the check I have reason to believe was the owner. He did not ask if everything was ok or ask how he could remedy the situation. I heard the chef was changed very recently and that could be a reason. I was so disappointed I really did not want to drive to the city ever weekend for a good dinner but after this I truly believe that I have to go to the city to get great food. I am attaching a picture of the twice cooked«Medium» steak to show I am not making this up. Yes the color inside the steak is still purple… I really really wanted to like this place…

We loved this place. Definitely make a reservation we called the same day and got in, just not til 930pm. The owner did call us himself to let us know an earlier time opened up but when we informed him we couldn’t make it he was fine with it and reassured me multiple times that our original reservation was secure. I have the give the wait staff credit we were the last ones in and they didn’t rush us at all. The staff gets full credit, very attentive but never pushy, which is a hard balance and they pulled it off perfectly. Now to the food. The BBQ shrimp was some of the best we have ever have, a must get if you like shrimp but I wasn’t impressed with the crab bisque just a bit to buttery. The ribeye I had(bone in) was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and one of my friends had the veal which was very tender. A slight complaint is another friend ordered the ribeye cooked medium well and it was red inside, but it was a very thick steak so I think they felt time pressed to please us. Our drinks were quickly deliverer and delicious. We had the bread pudding ala mode for dessert, excellent. Overall a great dining experience just be ready to pull out your wallets it’s more of a high ticket kind of a place. Worth the price tag though in my opinion.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and the wait staff is very friendly. But that is not enough to give this place anything more than 3 stars. Everything I ordered was over cooked. The dinner filet was supposed to be medium, however, it came blackened on the outside and almost no pink in the middle. The asparagus tasted like the grill and the bread was more like toast. I will say that a guest at my table did order the grouper fish and it was delicious, so perhaps stick to the seafood when coming here.

I have died and gone to gourmet Heaven. I couldn’t get past the appetizers there were so many wonderful things I had scallops seared on a wonderful little salad I had a bowl of crab and Brie soup to die for, Gordon R would be impressed. Hubby’s duck was crispy skinned and pink perfection. I did not have bread pudding which seems to be endemic in Nola. Their crème brûlée was lovely

TERRYTOWN’S BESTRESTAURANT KEN answers the phone, greets you at the door, behind the bar making cocktails, takes table orders… etc, etc… and always most pleasant. Plus gives good directions to get there and go home. How can you beat it ! Unilocal photos by other reviewers influenced our decision making. Ordered the following: Soup Du Jour: Eggplant with jumbo crab meat… Yu-go slurped it all up and said«good soup !» Truffle Scallop Salad: Pan seared scallops, spiced candied pecans, crumbled goat cheese and pickled red onions served over mixed greens and tossed in a honey truffle vinaigrette… slightly spicy dressing and seasoned scallops(3)… perfectly prepared… would have been happy with just this dish for dinner. Parmesan Crusted Gulf Fish of the Day: Grouper pan fried with whipped potatoes, sautéed baby spinach, jump lump crabmeat and Creole buerre blanc… large thick chunk of grouper seared crisp on both sides. Meat was moist not overly cooked and still flaky for a large piece of fish. Whipped mashed potatoes was gritty in texture and nicely matched with the spinach. Would come back in a heartbeat!!!

Had an amazing evening celebrating my birthday the other night here! Excellent service. We brought our baby with us and they were extremely accommodating with anything we needed for her. The waitresses were so kind to us and very thoughtful. The owner came around to check how everything was with our dinner. Food was so delicious, this is definitely the best and nicest restaurant on the Westbank. We will definitely be returning here for many special occasions!

I agree with the consensus of 5 stars. O’Briens Grille is THE fancy restaurant on the Westbank with excellent food…“a diamond in the rough.” The GPS took us to an incorrect location right off the Expressway, so we asked humans in a bar for directions and learned that 2020 Belle Chasse is close to LaPalco. The unassuming building looks like a warehouse. It can be easily missed. Went there on a Tuesday for lunch. Crab au gratin appetizer was excellent. Oysters O’Neil, nice flavor, but oysters were small. Tomato crab salad had lots of crab. Prime rib cooked to perfection. Andouille Black Eyed Peas Dirty Rice was just okay. Staff was efficient and friendly. Nice ambience, not loud.
Lots of free parking in the parking lot. Eager to return, want to try the other items.

Fine dining in the most unassuming of buildings. You’d never guess. This one really is a diamond in the rough, and by rough, I mean it shares a lot with a drive thru daiquiri place. First things first, don’t be afraid of the Westbank, people. It won’t bite. Make sure to follow the Unilocal directions to bring you to O’Briens, because I’ve gotten lost using other navi sites. Remember, it shares a lot with a daq shop so be on the lookout on the right. You’re really going to be like, «wtf, where did Morgan just send me?» You walk in, and are instantly realizing you’ve just made a terrible mistake wearing flip flops and a baseball cap(run back to your car, change your shoes post-haste, and cow lick that hair into something presentable). Once you come back in, head to your right unless you’d like to dine at the fancy bar if you chose to take this epic adventure solo. White tablecloths and giant wine glasses adorn the tables. They have great mini booths for those who like fine dining, but the comforts of a good booth. This place gets surprisingly busy, so I might suggest making a reservation. For those with specialty diets, I would talk to the staff before heading out that way. I feel like this place is «a stick of butter, what’s gluten-free?, there’s-bacon-in-that-asparagus» type of place; and that couldn’t make me happier, but I’m sure if they can, they will accommodate. I will preface my dining experience with the fact that I would’ve never have known about O’Briens if it weren’t for my Aunt and Uncle who adore this spot. The staff is gold to them and to anyone who has joined them here. The service truly is impeccable and the owner is just as hardworking as anyone in there to make sure your dining experience is exemplary. My Aunt and Uncle also like to order nearly everything on the menu, and send me home with at least 3 to-go boxes. Standout dishes to me are the Crawfish Risotto*, Jumbo Lump Crab Au Gratin*, Tomato & Crab Salad(can you tell I like crab?), and the petite Filet. The risotto is super rich and creamy with a nice kick to it without having to add hot sauce. The crabmeat au gratin has a ton of fresh crabmeat, and again, a heavier, richer dish that you can save the rest for when you’re hungry in two hours catching up on Modern Family episodes in your PJs because you can’t fit into that dress you were going to wear out tonight after that epic meal… but you’re totally okay with it. My steaks have alway been perfectly cooked medium rare, though by this time after all the apps my fam gets, the petite is all I can put away. If you can manage, they also have a handful of great sauces they make in house that you can dribble all over your steak. #gluttonyismyfavorite Price-wise, I think their on par with other fine dining restaurants. What’s great is since they’re not catering to the tourist palate(no offense to the wimpy tastebuds of some visitors), they don’t dull down spices to accommodate like some places in the Quarter might. Bite the bullet, drive to the Bestbank, and enjoy O’Briens. You’ll be glad you did. *“Crawfish Boil” Risotto — Creamy risotto made with all the lagniappe from a New Orleans backyard«Crawfish Boil»(crawfish, potatoes, corn, onions, andouille sausage & garlic) *Jumbo Lump Crab Au Gratin — Jumbo lump crabmeat with a Creole Béchamel, topped with a blend of Italian cheeses
