Excellent service and delicious food! El guacamole estaba fresco, los chips recien hechos. Toda la comida estaba muy rica. El lugar muy limpio y el servicio fue rapido y excelente.

We went there on a Saturday evening and should’ve known something wasn’t right by how empty the place was. There was one hostess at the door and she spent 10 minutes answering questions and I guess concerns of another couple without even acknowledging us. Another lady (Caucasian) walks in behind us and as soon as the hostess finishes with the questions/​concerns she goes directly to the other lady first. When asked why did she do that all she could say was «I thought she was here first, no disrespect meant». That was bullshit! When we were seated we all came to the conclusion that we would never patronize a business like that one and left.

Very disappointed the food was so so the salsa was bland no flavor. But the worst thing of all was I saw the waitresses grabbing with her hand the chips and putting them in the basket and taking them to the tables. I would not come back and would not recommend this place to anyone else.

I’m giving 2 stars because the Quality has deteriorated. I almost alway have the shrimp tacos. They change the recipe not for the good. Very disappointed, I will not be back.

AVOID this place at all costs. Heed my advice — THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. I can have good food with bad service and I will return. But if the food is bad and the service is eh… I’m not going back! The food was so bad that as we were leaving I wanted to warn the guests coming in to rethink what they are doing! Ate there last night. Ordered the chimichanga with beef fajita topped with queso and my lady ordered some kind of soup with potato in it (don’t remember the name). The chimi was just all around gross! Frozen chimichangas from Walmart are better and I refuse to eat that crap. I ate about half of it only because I was extremely hungry and it cost $ 14!!! My lady said she thought the soup was ok, but I tried it and it reminded me of cheap canned broth with chunks for potato. She ordered house margarita drink… junk. I ordered a Dos Equis 16oz draft and found a chunk of food caked to the bottom of the glass happily bubbling away. I recently moved from Dallas to Terrell and have been in the pursuit of good Mexican food out here and have been seriously disappointed. Go up the road to Rio Lerma if you want great authentic Mexican or Christinas if you want good tex-​mex.

Food sucks and over priced! Menu has like 5 things to choose from. McDonalds next door would be the better choice.

We were dragged to this place with the offer of free food from our parents so we agreed to go regardless of the 2.5 star rating. How it ever got a rating that high is beyond me. I don’t know which was worse, the food or service. I can only remember worse service once anywhere I’ve ever been. The food, once we finally got it, was disgusting. I ordered the chicken fajita chimichanga which was supposed to cost $ 14. Ended up costing nothing since I had to send it back which is something I normally would never do! The chimichanga was rubbery, like they dipped it in oil but never fried it. I could barely take one bite. I chose to not get anything else as I had filled up on chips anyway since we waited so long. Had to go get tortillas ourselves so our baby would have something to snack on after asking and waiting for at least 10 minutes. Ordered queso and never received it. Tables drinks were only refilled once. We will never be back, no matter who is paying.

The food is bad, cheap and bad. My fajita burrito was served with «wolf brand chili» and the beef seems a little old. The rice terrible, and the refried beans were a disappointment. The entire meal reminded me of cat diarrhea. The waitstaff was good, no complaints there.
Eat here only if the Applebee’s wait is too long. No, wait just don’t eat here. Consult Unilocal and drive somewhere else.

I was there yesterday with a group. We had the worst service. 3 people at my table had empty drinks for over 20 minutes with no server in sight. The server place hot queso on the table between a toddler and a 5 year old. Why not place it in front of the adults at the table?
The food. Was just terrible. The meats all had an odd flavor. My 12 year old didn’t even eat half of his food because he said it all tasted bad and he would have rather eaten McDonald’s (which he refuses to eat). This was simply disappointing and actually put a damper on our day. I only have it one star because I had to.

It wouldn’t let me leave a review w/​o putting a star… only reason there is 1. Service was awful. Not overly friendly at all. First asked what we wanted to drink on our way to the table. I also water for now. Never did ask later if I wanted anything else to drink after I had actually sat down and had a menu. Chips just ok. Salsa bland and tasted like out of a jar. We had the El Señor plate (2 chicken fajita tacos, and 1 cheese enchilada, beans, rice). The beans were just barely warm. The tacos had chicken only on them Nothing else. The enchilada tasted like it was made with Velveeta. My husband said it all tasted like an Old Elpaso meal out of a box.
Ask for the check before we r even done eating.
Decide to use the restroom before leaving. .BIG mistake!
Garbage all over the floor as soon as u walk on door and garbage can ov er flowing. Go in the stall and dirty and feces on a plastic bag on the floor. Umm no… decided to drive to Buc’ee’s to use the restroom.

Had chips and queso for appetizer, very good. The waitress gave us tortillas that were made right there. They were fantastic. We ordered Street Tacos and Fajita Burrito. They were both phenomenal. The staff was courteous and expedient.

The skinny blonde waitress gave our table to a group that came in behind us. The young man who actually took our order and served us was nice. He brought our food and I asked where mine was. He said a waitress took my food and gave it to her table. My food arrived when everyone else was half way through with their food. I sent it back and bought stuff out of the machine at the hotel. Waiter appeared to be afraid to have the manager come and speak with me. We left.

We are in town for a training event and happenstanced into here. I’m a gringa but my partner in crime is the real Mexican deal. We both loved it!
I ordered a beef chimichanga with Queso. The Queso was so rich and good. He had Carne Asada. The food came out super quick (6 pm on a Wednesday). Super sweet waitress — Amber. She didn’t know what a michelada was but we taught her!
And he approves of the michelada as well!

Food is pricey and not good. Ground beef has a strange taste. Either it’s not seasoned right or being left out and going bad. If you can’t make tacos and good enchiladas your in trouble. $ 23 for 2 lunch specials and one drink. That’s dinner price. Tea prices are outrageous @ 2.75 each in a tiny glass. Will not return.

Went here for the first time recently. Giving this place 2 stars instead of one just because the waiter was really nice. The food is very bland. It’s all pre made and microwaved. That’s why the plates come out so hot. I won’t ever go back. I’d rather eat taco bell. I’m surprised this place stays in business. It would be a perfect candidate for restaurant impossible. Robert Irvine needs to come here and tell the owners how bad there food is.

OMG! Words cannot describe what a disgusting restaurant this place is but I will do my best! The food was absolutely horrible!
I ordered chicken flautas and what they brought me was both chicken AND beef flautas. The chicken flautas were, seriously, as big around as a friggin pencil! I am not exaggerating at all! The beef flautas looked like little square hot pockets with mush in them… and they didn’t even taste like beef!
There were only 3 tables seated when we got there but as soon as a crowd of about 30 people arrived we were completely forgotten about.
I saw a manager walking around but of course he wasn’t going to anyone’s table asking them how things were going because I’m sure he has to comp A LOT of meals when he does that.
Like other people have suggested I think that the only reason this place has some how been around since 1984 is because they are right next to the Tangier Outlet mall.
I will NEVER bring my family here again and if you are smart you won’t either!

1 star only caise I cant leave 0. Food is bland and over cooked. No seasoning at all. Feel like they should have had a gun cause I was robbed. AVOID this restaurant and go to Taco Bell if you want mexican instead same quality much cheaper.

We stopped in for lunch on Saturday, there wasn’t a wait. The homemade flour tortillas were very good. I usually prefer corn, but not here. I had the chicken fajita taco salad. It was good. The BF had shrimp wrapped in bacon served on a bed of Spanish rice. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of it. He said it was really good. We also ordered their verde sauce, which surprisingly was served warm. Although it was different, we liked it. They do not serve «lunch menu» on Saturday, so our lunch was $ 40… Seems way over prices for lunch… In their defense their were two beer on that ticket too. But I have had much tastier Mexican food, for quiet a bit less. But overall. Not a bad place for lunch. I’ll probably try somewhere else next time though.

I am kind of shocked by some of the bad reviews for this place…
We ate here a few nights ago and we enjoyed our experience. We were quickly greeted/​seated. The placed looked nice and was clean. Our waiter did an awesome job and was very friendly. There were 5 of us in our group, 4 out of 5 of us really enjoyed our food. The person that didn’t like his food ordered the chicken fajitas and complained it was too dry and not enough flavor.
I would recommend this place and will visit again when I get back this way. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because one of the persons in our group did not like his food.

Man this place blows, but what are you going to do when your in Terrell. The food was cold and the waitress talks to me about how she doesn’t get a lot of tips and family woos. Come on really! I’ve been here before and seems to be the same. I can see why most people go to Applebee’s ¼ mile away.

I agree that I do think the biggest asset that this restaurant has is that it is the only if not one of the few options they have in the area. It was busy and we were a big group but service was slow and we had to consistently keep reminding them about things. Plus the food wasn’t that great, I wanted what I saw on the picture but apparently they didn’t have it so I settled for something they said was similar but really wasn’t.
I really don’t think I’ll be back unless I’m shy an option.
