Moggers has always been one of my favorite ‘go to’ places in Terre Haute. Great burgers, huge beer selection, including things you can’t find anywhere else, excellent and friendly service and a cool atmosphere. Anyone who has visited us has been treated to the experience of dining there.

Great place. I’ve been here several times to meet friends. Great service and good selection of ice cold beer. I’m a fan and will be back.

My wife and I recently went to Mogger’s. In the past, there wasn’t much good to say about Mogger’s. The service was slow and the food was kind of marginal in quality. Our more recent visit left us pleasantly surprised. The service was quick and our server was bright and cheerful. The menu was limited due to the fact that it was graduation weekend for Rose Hulman and they were packed during the lunch hour. That didn’t really bother me much, however. I had a Bacon cheese burger while my wife had their massive tenderloin. My cheese burger was juicy and tasted good and my wife’s tenderloin looked scrumptious and was big enough to feed our son with the leftovers when he came back from his late night excursions. We also bought onion rings as our appetizer. They were big hot and crunchy and served with a fiery sauce that cut through any greasiness left over from the frying. Fortunately, we also got ranch dressing, the mid-western dip for all things, to cool the heat of the fiery sauce. While it isn’t quite in the list of «go to» restaurants the improvements were encouraging. We will go back sometime when the full dinner menu is available. Maybe, I’ll revisit this review then.

Family celebration tonight there with 16 of us. And the age group ranged from 4 to 84. We didn’t experience the trails you often experience with a large group. The food was great and we all ordered something different. Nikki was our waitress, but we all received the attention of a table of two. As we ended the evening with family pics, several wait persons assisted in taking pics. We had a great evening and great food!

Great beer selection. My food was mediocre… ordered the chicken pesto pizza. When it was delivered to my table, it looked extremely overcooked and it was. The pizza had very little pesto flavor plus a burnt taste. It was so overcooked that is appeared to have pizza sauce on it instead of pesto. Very disappointing as Mogger’s was highly recommended to me. Hopefully this was a fluke and the next time I go it will be a much better food experience.

The beer selection is my favorite aspect if this establishment. They have several taps that rotate fairly often. They stock the big local breweries very well and let you have reasonably priced take out on their beers. The liquor selection is lacking and they need to order better whiskey. The food is OK and very hit and miss depending on the chef. I’d recommend the pizza and burbon Street chicken sandwich. Would be neat to see some specials or change the menu every five years or so.

Everything here is wonderful, great people and great food. The building has an authentic old world charm that can not faked.

Such good food here! I had the Moggers Burger and it was so good. Big portions of food for a good price. The breaded mushrooms are the best I have ever had.

Oh my gosh, all of the food was amazing! Best French fries I think I’ve ever had! I wasn’t even that hungry! We could have easily split a burger and fries and been quite full. Burger was huge and perfectly cooked. Waitress was also very friendly and helpful and food arrived quickly. Many of the sauces and deserts are made here, in house, and taste divine. It’s also a beautiful building, with much history and flavor. Will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Great American selection of food from a variety of burgers, pizzas, and chicken. My bacon cheese burger was tasty but a bit greasy as were the kids chicken fingers and fries. Fried mushrooms had a nice breading, but were also greasy. Real friendly staff and a great ambiance in an old building. I would go back if I am in Terre Haute again.

Had dinner here and it was excellent. Fun, comfortable pub with good food and beer. I come to Terre Haute once a year to visit son in college and we always have a great meal here during my visit. I recommend the fried mushrooms, they are unbelievable. I’m vegan and had the black bean burgey. Spicy and delicious. I also was introduced to Three Floyds Dark Lord beer. Best beer I’ve ever had.

A hidden gem in the Haute. Extremely good food, Reasonably priced and great atmosphere. I have been here about five times and it was good every time. Nothing stood out but it was very good. If I had a choice between going to Stables or coming here, I would go to Moggers every time.

A great local business in a cool building. Okay, okay, I do find the building a little creepy and I prefer to use the bathroom in the bar as opposed to the other one. Rumor has it this place is haunted. Maybe it’s just the lighting that gives me the creeps(it’s pretty dim). But the building itself is neat so it’s worth checking out if you’re in town. They also have outdoor seating which I only discovered earlier this year, but really enjoyed. Mogger’s has a little bit of something for everyone. Every time I go in, though, it seems like the menu is changing. I’m a big fan of the Chicken Pesto Pizza or Mogger Meat-A. I love crispy-crust pizzas and theirs are good. I can’t go here without getting an order of fried mushrooms. Their breading is some of the best in town. Very crispy and full of flavor. I think it usually comes with a ranch or ranch-fusion(horseradish?). If they ask, I usually say ranch. If they don’t ask, I usually like whatever they bring, which seems like ranch with a bit of kick. I have enjoyed many of my meals here. The Turkey Fusion burger is really yummy. The cranberry-apple chutney makes it. I also recently had the Flatlanders Pork and it was delicious! I almost always leave here with leftovers unless I’m splitting my meal with a friend. Good service, though it can be a bit slow sometimes. The staff is always friendly. I personally have never had trouble with the bar service, but I know a few members of my party have«tripped up» their bartenders a couple of times. Any complaints I’ve had have always been addressed quickly and typically without my having to complain much. In fact, the biggest complaint I think I’ve had was the result of some kitchen confusion and our order of fried mushrooms going to another table. We got ours a bit late in the meal, but we didn’t care. They even comp’d them for us even though we said it was no big deal!

Had our daughters rehearsal dinner here and the food, service and setting was excellent. To serve 45 – 50 people and keep the food fresh and keep up the service of the entire party was very well done. This was an excellent experience and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

This place was great. We sat on the patio(which was gorgeous with strings of hanging lights) and it had the perfect ambiance for a late summer night. The inside was very busy but there were few outside. The service was very friendly but we did had to wait awhile for our check. Food was outstanding. We’re not from the area but would definitely come back if we’re here again.

You should visit this place if only to take a tour of it. The restaurant is housed in an ancient brewery. Antiques(and a few«mock» antiques) dot the walls. The floors are real old hardwoods in some places and brick in others – gross factor, though, is the fact that our feet kept sticking on the brick(gag!). There are lots of little nooks and crannies. If they let you, choose the balcony or patio out back for dining, since some other parts of the pub have the decrepit smell of «old». Our group, led by me, switched from an area near the middle of the restaurant to the chill patio outside. Yay, me, since the patio was quieter, roomier and so much more enjoyable. The handwritten lists of draft beers was impressive, even to someone like me who isn’t into beer. They even had a chocolate ale and something called«Not Your Father’s Root Beer». The menu had a solid assortment of appetizers to choose from and the normal offering of weighty pub food. Service was fairly«meh» for a Tuesday night. Not bad, but not good, either. The building itself was great and what made me give it four stars – service and food were three-star quality.

We were in town for a wedding last weekend. The rehearsal dinner was held at Mogger’s. The party was held in the upstairs room which was HOT as hell. On a day that was already 90 degrees, this room was stifling. Our waitress was very attentive and we had drinks immediately. However, there were ants in my husband’s glass. Gross. The buffet included appetizers, spinach dip and nachos. I only tried the spinach dip, it was just flavorless. The meal consisted of salad, rolls, bbq, a chicken dish, green beans and mashed potatoes. The bbq was good, everything else, just mediocre. I will say however, the chocolate spoon cake is out of bounds! I wouldn’t eat the food again but the cake, hell yes.

Some of the best beer you’ll find in Terre Haute. Old school bar atmosphere, but plenty of space to find a quiet corner for yourself. Menu full of solid bar food, service hit & miss, but this place always means well & it’s just pure Terre Haute. If you are full of nostalgic love for this city, this is the place to have a few beers & talk about the good old days.

I’ve been to their steakhouse Stables across the street, which really impressed me when I ate there for the first time last year, so I was looking forward to trying their sister restaurant and pub. Atmosphere was cool and casual with a mix crowd. I could see a lot of working professionals gathering here… If I lived in this town I would definitely be coming here more often! They had a good selection of beers too, which I liked. Good selection of imports. I had their Swiss and mushroom burger. It was good. The fries were good too, almost seemed like they were«natural» cut but I am not sure… Just a guess. I would definitely come back.
