Bad reviews will hurt the business’s reputation; however, I cannot help since China Garden disappointed me so much. I spent $ 23.97 dollars on General Tso’s Tofu, Szechuan Beef, and Hunan Chicken. All three dishes tasted terrible, and gave me the feeling that China Garden did not know how to cook their food. Both the textures of the beef and chicken are the same that I could hardly tell what type of meat was that. The sauce was plain, all tasted the same. The Szechuan Beef was not spicy at all, and had a scary artificial red color. The fried rice was unevenly cook that some pieces still had a hard core giving a very unpleasant feeling while eating. The cabbage eggrolls were tasteless and filled with very little of stuffing. The tofu tasted like some old fried tofu now being reheated in the sauce. It did not have the juicy taste of tofu, instead, it was bitterness and rubbery. It took me 45 minutes waiting and more than $ 20 for a incredibly crappy meal. I do not expect the food to be brilliant since it is quite cheap. However, it is absolutely unacceptable when none of three dishes I ordered gave me any hope. I could barely finish my food and dumped all of them away after first few bites. I ordered so much food hoping for some leftover, but it was so bad and definitely not worth taking the room in my refrigerator. I cannot stand crappy food. China Garden is being disrespectful to their customers by serving these trashy food. I WILLNEVEREVERORDERFROMHERE. NEVER.

I was visiting Terre Haute, IN. We ordered food to our room(egg drop soup, orange beef, and crab rangoons). The soup was cold and unappealing. The crab Rangoon was also cold and the shell was Extremely hard. The orange beef looked like a crumbly mashed chicken/questionable meat.(Will post pic). My parents came over to our hotel room hungry, took one bite and went back to their room hungry. We called to get either real beef or a refund. They offered to give a refund, but we would of had to drive to the location in the snow. When we informed them that a pic would be put up on Unilocal, they threatened to call the police. Eat at your own risk…

There food is amazing, best in town. The last time my husband and I visited there were cockroaches everywhere. We obviously told them we would not be taking our food home or paying for it and they explained«the bugs wont be in the food».

The dining room was quite small(only six tables) and it didn’t feel like they had the heat on. Lucky for me I was getting my food to go. However, the negatives stopped there. The food was served in an average amount of time and the staff were suitably friendly. The portion of food was larger than expected AND they gave me a free soda. I had General Tso’s chicken and, to me, it’s the best Tso’s in Terre Haute. The sauce was dark and rich(with a hint of spiciness but not too much) and the chunks of chicken were large. The fried rice had a tasty grilled flavor to it. The egg roll was fine, nothing too surprising there. You can park on the street in front of the restaurant or there’s more parking via a lot on the east side of the building. If you’re looking for a non-buffet Chinese food solution in Terre Haute, you need to try China Garden.
