Good luck getting waited on or even acknowledged by the ditzy blonde bartender. Wasn’t even that busy

For all the college kids who are trying to get drunk and saving a couple of dollars, Thursday night at the Bally is the place to be. The pizza is actually pretty good. My friends and I have developed a routine between men’s and women’s ISU basketball games to come by the Bally and order pizza. I think that the real steal is Friday afternoon where you have the chance to win free pizza. What a great way to end your week?! I know a lot of the alumni have talked about how«popping» the Bally was in their day, don’t get me wrong it’s still a good time, it just isn’t every night if the week. Also love the new mural art on the side of the wall facing 9th street. It really gives a hometown feel to the bar!

This is my favorite college bar in town. I’m always there for free pizza Friday’s and I go for dollar well Thursday’s if my schedule allows. The bartenders there are all great, the best one being Sarah in my opinion. She always engages customers whenever possible, is very good at her job, and seems like she really wants to be there. Honorable mention to Bally Greg but he is no longer there. God bless that man. I’ve had a ton of memories here and intend to make a few more before I graduate. I hope to be able to visit this place for years when I come back for the walk or if I’m just passing through.

Memories… I attended Indiana State back in the late 70’s and the Bally was THE place to go after games or just to hang out. The night ISU made it into the Championship round, Larry Byrd bought everyone a round of drinks at the Bally ~ it was a great time. I haven’t been in years but it’s great to see that this little gem is still alive and well. At the time my friends and I were regulars, there was major graffiti all over the walls… I clearly remember what someone wrote on one of the bathroom walls, «Don’t try to be neat and sit on the seat… the crabs in here can jump six feet!» Love ya, Bally!

If your young and out going this is an awesome place. This is my go to place on a Thursday night while I’m in terre haute. $ 1 wells and a dance floor. On Thursday and Saturday nights this is the closest thing to a night club terre haute has to offer. Dj and lighting is just ok IMO but geographically great I don’t expect much in this little big town.

I recently ventured to Terre Haute, Indiana to visit a few of my really good high school friends. Among our many ventures in this college town, my friends suggested that the next day(which was a Thursday) we go to the Bally and meet up with everyone. I saw plenty old friends and even made some new ones. The vibes here are awesome. It’s super spacious inside and the layout is amazing. I love that you can hang out and chat on the side with the full bar, but right next door dance your butt off after those drinks. They also have a bar(although not quite as big as the main one) on the dance floor side. The DJ was playing great music and the lights were pretty cool. The bartender, Greg(I’m pretty sure that was his name) was very attentive and super nice. He kept the drink orders coming in hot all night long. I decided that we should also try some food here as well. We ordered buffalo wings and breadsticks. The buffalo sauce here is yummy, but not like the traditional buffalo sauce that I’m used to. The breadsticks were piping hot and delicious dipped in the cheese sauce. They were priced well and hit the spot after a long night of drinking. Speaking of drinking, on Thursday’s they have $ 1 Wells and honestly, it doesn’t get any better than that. They have an awesome patio space to go out and have a cigarette which is refreshing. Especially if you’ve been dancing all night long on the hot dance floor. I’m glad that I spent my last night visiting here at the Bally. It was awesome to catch up with old friends in a great environment. If I return to Terre Haute any time soon, I will definitely make sure to be here on that Thursday night. Cheers, Ballyhoo!

Great Pizza, Good Vibes, Average Beer Selection. I love their Deluxe Pizza. Top 3 in Terre Haute. Their Stromboli is AWESOME! Most of their food is better than typical bar/pub food. Try going when it is not so packed with the college scene. I used to be that scene, but at 35 years old, I am digging the quiet bar scene on a Wednesday evening when I can have my pizza and beer and maybe join a few friends. Their beer selection is average at best. Now, 90% of their customer base is poor college kids so Busch Light and Keystone Light are their bread and butter. They do offer some decent bottled beer, but I wish they carried more Indiana craft beer. That is my only gripe. The waitstaff is friendly and the place is always clean. Just typing this is making me hungry for a few slices of their pizza, but it’s Lent and I cannot have meat on Fridays. Check them out, you won’t be sorry you did.

Pizza is a thin crust but not the thin crunchy variety. The taste was okay, prices were a little better then average and the service was fine. However it’s mainly a bar with a pizza delivery joint in the rear. If you go to pick up, go to back northwest door that is unmarked. This might be a better experience as a delivery.

Great place for pizza and beer. It’s a college bar, so unless you want to hang out with a bunch of 21 and 22 year old drunks, get there before 10 pm.

The BallyHoo Pizza King is great! I go there frequently(not only for the pizza) and I have never had an issue with their pizza! It is made very quickly and it is very fresh. They will special make a pizza for you and the prices are very reasonable as well. The BallyHoo is a great place to go to just to hang out with friends, have a few beers, order a pizza, and watch the game. Overall, it is a great atmosphere and 9 times out of 10 your going to have a good experience.

I went to the BallyHoo to meet some friends.. . They didn’t show up. I ordered a small pep/saug/onion pizza. The pizza arrived rather quickly, was piping hot and very tasty. The topping went to the edge along with the sauce and the cheese. The crust was light and airy. Not the dense premade/frozen taste that others in town have. While I am not a bar person per sae, I will be visiting this establishment again due to the excellent pizza. In my opinion, the best pizza in town that I have tried.
