Good Life Bakery Cafe

I was able to place my order immediately and got the Tabouli salad without cheese to make it vegan. I also had my first bottle of Buddha’s Brew (Austin, TX) Kombucha tea from here. I was pleased with everything! Not only was my salad extremely fresh, they provided excellent service with a smile. My mom’s pesto pasta also looked really yummy.
The gluten-​free cookies from here are a definite highlight. The only thing I would suggest to make it better is to add outdoor seating on the wide sidewalks especially on these beautiful, sunny, early spring days. Regardless, I love supporting local Temple family business and will go back as often as I can.

Good Life = Really Good Food and Service too. Prices very reasonable as well.

There are few places that I right a review for but this place deserves it. The muffeletta sandwich and loaded potato soup was amazing. Perfectly crafted sandwich with the right amount of olive oil on a fabulous bun. Highly recommend this place. The wife and I will definitely be back.

Food is soooo good, nice alternatives for Temple too if you have a restricted diet. Counter order but service is still good. Clean, healthy, fresh, nice. Would rather go here than many other places that fail in service in Temple.

Wow. Everything about this café is a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere is relaxing. The staff is polite and friendly. The food is amazing! Highly recommend the chicken pot pie, soups, the ham and swiss… and the list goes on. Only good vibes and delicious food here! Will definitely be coming back for more!

Great food, great service. I alway get the same turkey Asiago sandwich and chicken Caesar salad which are not alway so fresh and flavorful. Absolutely with the price and worth driving across town for. They also have multiple baked goods, the cinnamon sugar cookie is my absolute favorite!

I had the turkey Asiago and OMG — it was one of the most delicious sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service was incredible (down home, hospitality). Will be back again next time I come up this way. I’m originally from Houston and am not fortunate enough to have one of these down there. Make this happen soon please!

Great salads and soups! Sandwiches are good too. Ordered a turkey and cheese without tomato to go ended up with ham and cheese with tomato. So that was a little lame but it tasted good. The cookies are amazing! Everything is fresh!

Very good. While visiting family, we were wanting an alternative to the usual big box sandwich places. This locally owned café hit the spot. Fresh, healthy options and the staff was wonderful. The place was packed for lunch. We will definitely come back in the future when we come to visit family.

We stopped here for lunch on a road trip avoiding the chain restaurants. I had a soup (chicken tortilla) and a ham and cheddar sandwich. I have to say that the bread was amazing and the flavours on the sandwich was delicious. I highly recommend this café, it was clean and neat and the food was high quality.

I’ve been wanting to try this bakery café out and finally got in there today. I had not read any reviews, so I didn’t know what to expect. Since it was mid afternoon I was just looking for a cup of coffee and maybe a light snack. The coffee was freshly brewed to order– fabulous! I’ll definitely be back for the coffee!
The term bakery was a bit misleading as I was looking for some type of pastry. There were a few cookies, a cake, and I think pie. So I tried the special if the day: a spinach basil pasta– to go. I agree with some other reviews, the serving size was a bit small. I also was not really impressed with the flavoring. The basil was barely noticeable and I was expecting fresh spinach; this reminded me of some prepackaged pasta.
I’ll be back though to try a sandwich and maybe some soup. I believe in local businesses and want them to succeed.

Truth be told, most small town Texas cities seem to severely lack in restaurants/​cafes that aren’t BBQ or Tex-​Mex or Mexican, so whenever I find something different that gives my taste buds a little hope, I dive right in! And considering that most restaurants/​cafes are seriously calorie-​killing, I love that this café offers such healthy lunch options.
The décor is so simple, making the inside feel uncluttered and simple. There’s not a ton of food choices on the menu so it’s actually quite easy to make a selection. The sandwich that I decided to try was the Vegetable sandwich with feta cheese and hummus on a delicious mutli-​grain bun that reminded me of the ones used at Schlotzsky’s. It was delicious! And I didn’t feel like I was risking my diet regimen. The coffee is FABULOUS! There’s a gourmet selection for every taste and I was so happy to have some coffee that actually provided something different than the Starbucks brews I’ve grown way too used to. They had some delicious cookies and the flourless peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie was bomb. Service was quite nice and I am so jealous that Temple has Good Life Café AND Natural Grocery; seriously why can’t San Marcos be so lucky?!

Great place, awesomely yummy sandwiches and soups! Has an Austin vibe, food is great and staff is super friendly.

Wasn’t impressed! Bread was ok but not great for homemade. Roast beef was pretty bland as was the horse radish sauce. Tomato basil soup was so so. The best and only part of the meal that deserves bragging rights was their flourless cookie. Probably won’t be coming back.

Their chicken enchilada soup is amazing! I come here weekly after my first visit. Everything I’ve had here has been light and delicious with fast and friendly service!

I had a rare weekend off this past week and went to lunch on Saturday. I was so impressed and am so excited that our area is becoming more welcoming to restaurants that serve healthier food! We are already excited to return!
I had the chicken salad sandwich and half salad combo. Chicken salad is such a hit-​or-​miss but it was very fresh, not too mayo-​y (if that makes sense), and I could have eaten another sandwich!
Like many other reviewers are noting, the prices are affordable.
Finally, they have kombucha! (Buddha’s Brew!)

This place is amazing! Healthy and affordable for a light menu of soup, salad, and sandwhiches. I usually get the roast beef and soup combo! Tomato basil is amazing. Occasionally they spice up their soup so get it whenever you can.

Delicious! I had a sandwich/​soup combination. I ate a half sandwich (the cranberry chicken salad. SO DELICIOUS) on multigrain bread with a cup of tomato basil soup. It was great! Others in my party for the roast beef sandwich with loaded potato soup and the broccoli cheese soup and there was not a crumb left on anyone’s plate. Friendly staff, clean place, very affordable. I will be returning!

Great place! Enjoyed it so much I bought TWO sandwiches instead of one!
Originally ordered the muffuletta, and it was good. I can say, I did expect a tad bit more «zing» out of the muffuletta, but overall it was very good.
That said, I tried the chicken salad melt… Awesome.
Both sandwiches were very good and I’m sure we’ll be back.
