Bush’s Chicken

Terrible! I tried this place for the first time and have absolutely nothing positive to say about it. Went around 5:00, and the chicken was barely warm, Mac and Cheese was cold, no honey for the bun I asked for. She had to go back inside to get my drink… she forgot what kind in less than 2 minutes, which was ¾ ice. And they actually expect a tip when you pay by CC on their slip, I’ve never seen any other drive-​thru expect a tip a before.

Bush’s has to be my favorite chicken spot. I discovered them about 5 years ago in killeen. I moved away back to CA and have not been able to find another place that can compare. Was pretty happy to find them in temple when i moved out here. Prices arent bad. Not as cheap as some of the other chicken places, but I really think your getting what you pay for in quality and taste and quantity. Bush’s will always have my business for any time i feel the need to head out for some fried chicken.

Bush’s has some great chicken. I’ll go ahead and say that it’s the best chicken in town. They seem to always hook it up with an extra tender or two. I guess the know how to keep me coming back.
One of the perks of this place is that it’s busy all the time… What that means for you is you get hot fresh chicken and not sitting under heat lamps for hours like some other places in town. Cough cough «Church’s & KFC»
There are 2 locations so no matter what side of town you’re on you can get you some great fried chicken.

Bush’s chicken is OK. The batter is a little hard and thick and if you don’t get it when it’s fresh it gets dry quickly.
My biggest issue with Bush’s is the prices. When they first came to Temple, it wasn’t a bad deal, but the prices seem to go up at least 3 times a year. It is just getting too expensive to be worth it.

Huge fan! My kids love it. Down home chicken food that is comfy! Their special salt mix is amazing on everything! Service has always been great for me here. And besides the chicken the fried ocra is the best!

Love love love Bush’s chicken! The only reason I’m not giving them the full 5 stars is the cleanliness of the dining room. I found it to be a little dirty and yucky. That being said, the food and service was great. The employees at Bush’s are always very friendly and helpful. It’s a little surprising considering it’s mostly teenagers.
We placed a rather large order. They said they’d bring it out to us including our drinks. We found a seat at one of their large round tables. The table was a little dirty and the floor needed some attention. Our food was out in a few minutes. I had the 4 piece tender meal with fries. I don’t know what it is about Bush’s chicken but I can never seem to find fried chicken that lives up to their flavor. The white meat is juicy and delicious and the breaking is perfectly flavorful and crispy. The plates come with a roll and gravy. I don’t ever use the gravy personally but I think others do and they like it.
If you’re ever near a Bush’s I urge you to pull over and have some. It’s so delicious and you won’t regret it.

We always go here cause it’s just so convenient.
I can’t tell you though, how you NEED to be sure to check the bag before you leave with your takeout.
Time and time again they get the order wrong.
I’ve also wished sometimes the food was a bit more warm.
The rolls though are awesome.

Bush’s chicken is by far NOTHING to write home about. It’s cheap, close by & gets the job done; stops the hunger. It’s a step up above Church’s if anything. They do have a few good things going for them though: they have mastered the drive-​thru process with multiple lanes, have great ice, have capitalized on the idea of sweet tea & good drink specials like Sonic. So with that said, I do occasionally come here when I have coupons to use or for their so-​so gizzards.

Bush’s gets 4 stars for their Ice, Tea and daily 2 – 5 drink specials. No one can beat that.
The food is ok, not my first choice. I do like it ok.
The drive through moves pretty quick which is a good thing. Whats even better is that they have a line for drink orders only which is always good (unless someone gets in the line and orders food then it can be longer).
The location is good.
****During the summer months and end of spring the drink lines will get crazy especially during the drink special hours. also they will be skimpy on the ice during the summer months, i am guess cause they run out so much quicker!

The only good thing I can say about them is that they are conveniently located in the neighborhood otherwise their food is horrible and they’re chicken is dry and flavorless.

Not a big fan of their chicken. I think it lacks salt while my husband thinks its too salty.
I do like their drive thru lines though. They are fast! Only getting 3 stars because of their 3+ drive thru lanes.
