Yvonne’s Piano World

I just got my 40 year old Yamaha U1 resurfaced and Yvonne’s work is absolutely top notch! They are highly recommended!

Yvonne has been my boys’ piano teacher for the past 8 years. She is extremely knowledgeable about her craft but more importantly, she is very intuitive and insightful about her students. My children have very different personalities and strengths. She is able to encourage and motivate them using different techniques to get the best out of them. She is patient with her students yet she sets a high standard of achievement for them. Even though Yvonne is no longer their teacher (due to her relocation), my children still love and enjoy playing the piano. Over the 8 years that we have been with Yvonne, she has build such a strong and broad foundation for them that they have been able to transition to a new teacher with ease. Yvonne has given my children a gift for life — the gift of music.

I use Unilocal a lot and am happy to write a review for Yvonne’s Piano World. We know Ms. Yvonne since 2008 and luckily she finally had an opening for my girl in 2012. My daughter loves piano, but is very sensitive with people’s comments. Ms. Yvonne knew her personality well and was able to work the way around. She corrected her mistakes with very soft tone and provided many playful finger or rhythm exercises for her to work on in the car or on the table. Ms Yvonne was incredibly nice and gave a lot of encouragements in the lessons. Sometimes my wife and I got homework, too. We had to find songs from musicals and listen to them with my daughter. I am thankful to the chances of reviewing the music I used to love! In addition, my daughter not just learned to play piano, but also developed a solid foundation in music theory. Due to Ms. Yvonne’s relocation, we now have to switch to a new piano teacher. The teacher is amazed at how much my daughter’s knowledge about theory and is sending her for the CM exam in March. Thank you Ms Yvonne for everything!

My daughter started her piano lesson with Yvonne and stayed with her for 4+ years until she moved out of our area. Even after she left I occasionally contacted her for advice on my daughter’s ABRSM 7 exam. Yvonne is terrific! Patient, encouraging, knowledgable but also made sure her stays on top of her practicing and improving. Yvonne knows how to nurture my daughter’s growth in music, bring out the musicality from her. I am truly amazed at the progress my daughter made, not only on piano skills, but also on theory, music appreciation. It is always pleasant for me to talk to Yvonne. She is flexible and caring, a great teacher. I can’t recommend her enough!
