Famous Daves Barbeque

This was most of our group’s first visit to Famous Daves. I have had the food at catered events but never actually went to the restaurant until today. I was not a fan of the catered food but we were there for an occasion a relative’s birthday and this is his favorite place.
The restaurant was not very busy for a Sunday I was surprised… but I think I know why.
The service… well it was really slow and not very good. No warm and fuzzies coming from this place. There were several empty tables and we and other families still had to wait, and wait, and wait and wait. So I didn’t take it personal.
The server took the drink orders for everyone. We were waiting a bit and he annouced that we could not get drinks yet because they needed to wash dishes. What the flip??? Did I mention that the restaurant had lots of empty tables?
Then the waiter said they were changing shifts and we ended up with a different server. But he continued to serve all the tables around us. Hmmm…
I guess they washed the dishes because the new server brought out drinks but only for our side of the table. Then she brought the drinks for the other side and took their food order but did not take the order for our side.
I just don’t know??? She eventually came back about 10 mins later to take our order.
Our drinks ran empty from the almost 55 min wait for food. Not even bread or something. We had to practically chase down someone for refills. I actually started filling up on mixtures of BBQ sauce because it took so long for the food to come. It was at least 20 mins or more in between even one person asking if we needed anything.
One other waitress did jump in (now server three) to help bring out food — for the other side of the table. She was actually personable, friendly and warm. My relative joked and asked if we were hungry! LOL
But then we got our regular waitress back who was not as enthusiastic and brought our food which was one of the big orders on the trash can lid (what the flip?). The other servers would shout something when the big trays of food came out. She just brought the food.
The positive is that the food was actually pretty good. The coleslaw was delicious! The corn and beans were really good. They had this jalapeño mac and cheese that my brother in law loved and let me sample. It was very yummy! The brisket could have come in a larger portion than was offered but it was tasty. The restaurant was clean and the music was good.
I enjoyed the sweet tea and was able to stir up one refill. I normally do not drink more than one glass of drink but it was really good. I honestly wanted more but after another half hour past, I just flippin’ gave up.
I came home and made a pot of coffee to serve myself LOL!
Maybe service at another location will prove better.

Bethany’s service was very quick and good. We got our big combo meal less then 5 minutes after we ordered it. And it was all freshly made and tasted good, except one of the Pork Ribs was a little overcooked. She asked and brought refills quickly. And she got extra side items quickly too. So I recommend Famous Dave’s and Bethany’s service!

Wanted to see how good their bbq was and I can only say I have had better. Place was clean and not busy but it took 15 minutes just to get our drinks.

At my business we have Friday lunch where I take out the team for lunch. Today everyone wanted BBQ so we headed to Famous Daves. One of our favorites. However, today was a strange day. We arrived. There was no receptionist. We stood there for quite awhile and no one came. We called out but the restaurant was desserted. There was a couple who we thought worked there but it turned out they were waiting too. We got fed up and left and went somewhere where people were interested in serving us. Not sure what happened but someone must have been asleep today.

Love the baby back ribs, the St Louis sauce, the sides… good, solid, overall meal at reasonable prices. This has become one of our «go-​to» places in a pinch. But go early on Fri/​Sat nights = they’re packed :)

Famous Daves has pretty good barbecue. They used to have the best cornbread but now it is too sugary and is almost like eating cake. The BBQ chicken is good and we have gotten the big platters a lot — they are good for sharing. The French fries are the best thing here. One complaint I have is that nothing is that healthy. I know it’s a BBQ place but even their salads are covered in cheese and kinda gross. They need better salads or something.

Every time we come the food is delicious! The ribs and the coleslaw are a must try! Will be back soon.

The service was good, our waitress was really nice. I ordered a side salad and the sliders… after eating my salad I came across a piece of plastic I was chewing, I’m assuming came from one of the vegetables wrapping. When I informed the waitress they took it off the bill no problem. The real downer was after taking a few bites of the brisket slider (I believe it was that one I can’t tell the difference) I took a bite and their was a huge bone in the meat. I didn’t bother saying anything because I didn’t Wana be that complainer but the bone was spit out and sitting on my plate when we left. Disappointed to say the least. The happy hour beer was good, price and taste.

Ive been here about 3 times and every time I have not been happy with this place! The food is pretty good but their service sucks! Each time I’ve came here they take forever to come take your order for a drink, and then it takes 20 minutes for them to bring the drink to you. We got there tonight at 5:30 and we didn’t get our food until 7:30. I am never pleased with the service. The woman serving us tonight’s name was Beth. I had to ask her 2 times for my drink because she said she kept forgetting. I’m not sure at all why it took so long when all I ordered was a soup and salad.

We ordered food for a party. The manager was great!!! The food was wonderful!!!
He had everything ready for us to pick up right when we got there. He went through everything
to make sure it was correct. So happy and it made the birthday party a success. Thanks so much for everything. Can’t wait to come back and eat there.

Food was ok when it finally gets to you but the service is terrible! I thought after reading other reviews that they may have been exaggerating or they went during peak times but apparently the service is always bad because we went between lunch and dinner, there were only 4 other occupied tables, we had a server who had someone shadowing her and we still had to wait for our orders to be taken, drinks to be refilled, and nearly 30 minutes for our meals to arrive!
The food is typical BBQ stuff but my hubby was disappointed that they took away the grilled pineapple, I like their pickles (but I can buy them at the grocery store) I had the BBQ chop salad which was pretty basic and I could’ve been at any chain restaurant and gotten the same in less time.
Won’t be back, there are too many other options in Temecula to give them a second chance.

Definitely not the best or tastiest bbq I’ve ever had. The brisket was delicious, there just wasn’t enough of it. Do they also serve everything on top of a piece of white bread? Not even toasted mind you. If they are going to serve such small portions, at least serve it on a smaller plate. The trays they serve the food on make the food look sparse. Also, the sauce just seeps through the paper that it sits on. You may get a piece of soggy paper or two in your bites. There’s another bbq place located at the mall where you would be better off spending your money.
I can’t knock the service though. The waiter was great, bless his heart. Its just the food that wasn’t amazing. Its also freezing in the place! It made the food go cold really quick.

I am not sure what happened but this place went down.
Let’s start off with service. We were sat in the bar with my kids not sure why. I looked they had 4 other people there and the bar tender was extremely slow going. Did not see her for like 8 min. We wanted to order when we say her as we know we might not see her right away again. She did not take our order just drinks. Kids got their drinks but I had to wait another 5 long min for mine. Why? She is the bar tender OMG!
Food was slow getting to us as well. When it did the kids rips had cat hair all over it. Mind was dry and burnt. I could not understand why they suck now. I am sure it all comes back to management and who they hire.
In all it was a very bad experience and I will not be returning here. Its a shame too as when they opened it was not half bad.
Fail here guys!

Once again awful service. The restaurant is ¾ empty and we were waiting over 15 min. Asked to sit at the bar and they said no the bar tender is on break. Last chance see ya never come back
