Ok, I tired to go back and give them another shot after a bad experience 3 years ago… food is way over priced and the customer service is lacking BIGTIME!!! I am not sure if I will ever go back… but the food is ok… not the best carne asada around that is for sure.

I have been there many times without any issues. I crave the salmon burrito, it is the best in town! The salsa bar rocks, the tacos are good, the only bummer is no hard shell tacos. Try this place at least once and make your own decision.

I usually love this place cuz the food taste great but I hated the customer service today, I called at 8:26pm not knowing they close at 8pm, I was craving their food therefore I called to see if it was open cuz I was willing to drive 25 miles to get it, a lady answered so I thought it was open, she answered with an attitude but I put that aside, I asked what time they closed and she said we close at 8 and just hung up on me, I was just telling my sister in law that their food was great and we should cater her babyshower with them, but after that poor customer service I can take my business elsewhere and spend my gas money driving to a different delicious place. Aztec tacos just lost a customer and a great opportunity to make money on the baby shower we will now cater with some one else.

I beg to differ. This place is NOT the bee’s knees, if ya know what I mean. Yay for complimentary chips, good salsa, and pineapple bang drink. Nay for the lengua and carne asada. In my opinion, the meat is what makes the difference between a «good» and a «subpar» taco/burrito, etc. The meat in my tacos were bland. I don’t think I’m coming here again.

Just ok, not sure what all the hype is about. Its a good burrito, shrimp taco’s were bland. Ceviche was the best part, good portion for the price.

Awesome. All I got to say. Free chips, and the Unilocal deal for 25% off seals the deal. Just go.

Love Aztec Tacos! I’d eat here once a week if could… and for a while, I did. I work across the street and it’s by far the best lunch spot in the area. Whether it’s any of the tacos, the CA burrito, or carne asada fries, I’m never disappointed. Always fast with great service. When I’m looking for a quick bite, Aztecs is always the first spot I turn to!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Aztek Tacos yet. We come here every week for my Quesaburrito(pollo). It’s so good! I’m not sure how they accomplish it but I think they must melt the cheese on the grill before putting it in the burrito. Crazy good. The tortilla is always soft and fresh along with the other ingredients. They offer free tortilla chips and have a nice salsa bar to choose from. My husband loves the Al Pastor tacos too but he always eats half of my burrito. It’s that big. I know everyone loves the carne asada but try the pollo. It’s so flavorful. We’ve also had the Malcajete(again with pollo). It was so good and enough for 2 to share easily. Try the charro beans they’re really delicious and different.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. That’s the risk you run with small, independent restaurants. They can offer up some unique and creative cuisine that takes risks. Thus, I tried and liked the Salmon Burrito at Aztek Tacos about a month ago. Fast forward a month to the same restaurant but a different location. This time I thought the salmon burrito was mediocre at best. I don’t remember them from the first time being so loaded with such a soft, oozy guacamole and mushrooms that tasted like they came right out of a jar. I dislike the large chain restaurants because they generally aren’t that creative. However, tonight demonstrates the value in those chains because they are consistent in whatever they put forth. No matter the location. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. I’ll keep those cliches coming and will keep on exploring.

I did a review on this place awhile back, but or some reason it was deleted. I had a 25% off, so it was taco time. The inside of this place is pretty nice for a taco shop, and it’s always clean which is another plus. With good customer service. 4 The Tacos, 1 Carne Asada, 1 Al Pastor, 1 Chicken. They all looked tasty from the start, then it was downhill after the first bite. It’s the corn tortillas Asada Taco, the first bite had an odd taste to it, the tortilla had a old taste, like it was reheated then used. The meat didn’t have any flavor to it, just cooked steak chopped up, needed some seasoning to help it out. It came with onions, cilantro and no taste guacamole also needed seasoning, maybe a little salt, pepper, onions cilantro it wasn’t tasty at all. 2 Al Pastor Taco, over cooked burnt meat, it was a little crunchy, It was a little hard to eat, but I choked it down. It came with onions, cilantro and no taste guacamole also needed seasoning, maybe a little salt, pepper, onions, cilantro same as above, so it was doomed from the start. 1.5 Chicken Taco, will if you like mushrooms in your chicken taco, more then the chicken, this is for you and some odd tasting orange sause, it didn’t do anything to them but add to the crappy taste. I was told earlier from a fellow Unilocal friend, that different regions of Mexico have different types of Mexican food. Ok I get the point, but it’s a taco, there’s not much more you can do to them besides using different meats for each one. –5 I’ve had many tacos in the last 47 years. Carne Asada(steak), Chicken(pollo), Carnitas(pork), Al Pastor(pork cooked in a adobo sauce and seasoning), Cabeza(cow head). This is the standard meats in 99.99 percent of Mexican taco shops and stands all across America. Where does the mushroom in tacos come from, besides Aztek Tacos in Temecula? I’ve been here for grilled fish tacos. The fish tacos are pretty good, but with the tortillas they had today I don’t think it would of been. 3 tacos and drink $ 7.23 that’s with the 25% off. Which turned out to be the only real plus about this place. Many taco shops in the area I wouldn’t waste my money here again.

If you’ve had Mexican food before, this won’t cut it. The al pastor tastes like pork with ketchup. The asada is quite good as the meat is just the right mix of fat and meat, but the rest of the food is just your run-of-the-mill strip mall Mexican. The carne asada fries were just fries with half melted cheese, asada, and guac on it. The tacos have decent tortillas, but again, the best cut of meat left much to be desired.

Aztec how I love you!!! Best taco shop if you want good Mexican food, but not super greasy. I always get the Aztec taco and the carne taco with rice and beans. I was scared to try cactus until my brother assured me that theirs was awesome, and he was right! I even got my super crazy picky eater husband to try it, and he agreed it was good. Salsa is good always, and free chips also awesome. A must try in temecula for sure.

I can’t believe I now live in a place where you can get«fast food» Mexican that is this good. It makes all the places around where I lived in Chicago with«burritos the size of your head» look like a joke. It’s better than the supposedly authentic sit-down places! Plus free chips and 4 varieties of salsa. What’s not to love? Oh, and they had a Unilocal deal for like 10% off. Now it looks like you get a free taco. Love it.

I’ve pretty much lived here my whole pregnancy. The chips and salsa are ultra tasty, and I am a huge fan of the carne asada tacos– they aren’t stingy with the meat! My husband loves the california burrito and my daughter likes the bean and cheese burritos– they’re huge. I can’t even finish one. The service is pretty good, but with a salsa bar and fountain drinks you just don’t need that much service.

I will not even give any stars to this place. Service is a very big deal to me and I eat out MORE than the average American. First strike was the cold welcome from the cashier — just a stare and no hellos. She was however very friendly to those that spoke to her in Spanish. Second strike was when they messed up my order by omitting the combo part of the combo deal. Imagine what a pain it was and how less cost effective it is to drive back to get your side of beans and rice. Third strike was upon giving me the product that I paid for, no apologies were given. There a whole LOT more good Mexican places in the Temecula/Murrieta area: Mariscos El Cuate — ran by chef owners from Mexico — can’t get more authentic that that. Rosa’s café in Old Town is actually very good in quality and service though right in the middle of tourist town — I know, an oxymoron. I KNOW good Mexican food — whether from a mom & pop place or a high sell out commercial establishment. If you would like to get ripped off or just want to go here because you do not know any better, by all means, come visit this place.

In a very weird and disappointing twist, I wound up grabbing a couple of Baja fish tacos from this place today. I had a lunch date at their other location on Butterfield Stage and the Baja fish tacos were incredible. I had promised to bring a couple of tacos to my son before I left the other place, but forgot. Since I had to pass this location, I figured I pick up a couple of them fresh instead of driving them across town. But, the Baja fish tacos were downright disgusting. I got them as a carryout and when we opened them in the car, they just looked ok. They did have a ton of cabbage on them compared to the ones we had eaten earlier at the other location. But they tasted completely bland. And the fish was soggy. Nothing had any taste whatsoever. When we started to eat them, we did notice that they smelled incredibly fishy. So much so that we decided to throw them out, rather than risk getting sick eating something so disgusting! I’ve only been to this location one other time and I wasn’t impressed then either. I don’t think I’ll visit this location again. Just not worth wasting my time or money!
