I have tried many authentic Colombian dishes in the past and this restaurant definitely brought back memories! My friend and I ordered 2 dishes: Bandeja Paisa and Carne Asada. It was delicious! Both dishes were full of flavors and very savory. Bandeja Paisa came with pork, white rice, beans, ripe plantain, chicharron(fried pork belly), chorizo, fried egg and avocado. This dish didn’t give me a chance to be bored at all! Everything about the food was on point! Only thing I would complain about is the very-slow service. It took about 10 mins for the waiter to serve our drinks and than another 20 mins for the food to come out. I dont know if it usually takes this long? But it was okay, because the food made up for it. I will most likely, definitely go back and try other Colombian dishes.

I was here last night for my boyfriend’s mom’s birthday with a total party of 8. Parking: There’s a lot on the side street to park if Cedar Lane is packed. Inside: The restaurant is really small and narrow, but the décor looked cute and authentic. Service: Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Drinks: Someone in our party ordered a passionfruit smoothie and loved it! Just a note — if you ask for water, they just give it to you bottled so if you want tap water, be sure to tell them. Apps: We got two orders of the empanada trio(just the standard beef and potato) while we were still deciding on entrées. I think they tasted okay on their own, but the sauce that comes with it definitely made it better. I don’t think I’d order it again though because they aren’t packed with much filling. Entrées: 5 out of the 8 people in our party, including myself, ordered the churrasco(skirt steak) but with a variation of sides(I chose yuca and tostones). My boyfriend got mar y tierra(surf and turf/churrasco with shrimp), his mom ordered the soup of the day, and his dad got fish(not sure which one). — My boyfriend’s parents seemed to enjoy their food. No complaints. — The steaks tasted pretty good and the yuca was great. ***COMPLAINTS*** — It took over an hour for our entrees to come out, and there was only one other table of 2 in the restaurant while we were there. — My boyfriend said the shrimp had no flavor. — Every steak on our table was a different size even though we all ordered the same thing. Some people got a small piece, some got a bigger piece. My boyfriend’s brother even got two pieces. No pieces were thicker than others either, so it’s not like they were basing it on how many ounces of meat each person got. They need to work on their portioning. I’ll come back to try something else because the steak was good, portions aside, but I wasn’t impressed with my first visit.

WOW! If you are looking for some quality fresh food this is the place to go! The steak with peppers and onions were perfectly cooked on an iron frying pan which allowed the juices to marinate into the steak. The flavored really popped. The sides were also delicious and I recommend asking for their homemade hot sauce, it goes great on the rice! The homemade lemonade was different but still delicious. 10⁄10 would go back again for a taste of the homeland!

This place opened earlier this year and I finally got to try it today despite the fact that I drive by it every day… maybe I haven’t tried it because I live in Englewood and I am spoiled by the plethora of authentic Colombian places right by me. This place is located right in the middle of Cedar Lane, a few doors down to the right is Veggie Heaven, and a few doors down to the left is the movie theater. I didn’t see any parking on Cedar Lane, so I parked in the free lot around the corner. I walked in and sat at a small table for two. I was immediately greeted by a waiter with a menu. I didn’t detect any accent at all, but then I heard him speak in Spanish to another table and he spoke perfect Spanish. Both servers there spoke perfect English but were clearly Colombian once they spoke in Spanish… no need to worry here if you’re worried the servers won’t understand you, have a hard time describing something to you, or will mess up your order if you make modifications. I already knew I was going to get the Bandeja Paisa, but still browsed the menu. The waiter came back, took my order, and I anxiously awaited for my food. Once the food arrived, I was immediately impressed. Everything looked perfect! The steak was seasoned perfectly, the chicharrónes were also seasoned well with very little fat. So tender! The chorizo, maduros, avocado, rice, beans, and arepa were all tasty also! I don’t usually like arepas because then tend to be too dry, but not here! Perfect crust on the outside and soft inside. Definitely fresh! I plowed through my meal without hesitation. I finished everything but half my chicharrónes and some rice. Before I left I had to get some homemade baked empanadas to take home! They have many to choose from, but the beef and chicken ones were ready, so I got 2 of each(I think the other kinds are made to order — ham, cheese and pineapple, picadillo, taco beef/chicken, buffalo chicken, BBQ chicken, nutella and cheesecake, and white cheese and guava). I asked for 2 hot sauces and they gave me 2 nice sized ramekins of sauce. They were about double the size of containers you get at a typical Colombian place. I will definitely return! The service was great and atmosphere is very clean and warm! It’s definitely family run. I think the 2 servers were brother and sister. They deliver too and they said it would be no problem to deliver to my job in Hackensack! Great job guys! P. S. I love their location because its a great opportunity for people to try Colombian if they haven’t! Surrounded by Asian and Kosher places, this place is sure to be a hit!

Nice casual Colombian spot on Cedar Lane. They have about 10 tables. Great value here. We had carne asado, and grilled chicken with steamed vegetables and plantains. Very good. We also had an order of empanadas. The order comes with 3 chicken and 3 beef empanadas. They were tasty and they come with a slightly spicy side sauce. Service was great. Definitely will be back. There’s a municipal lot on the side street near the restaurant in case there aren’t spots on Cedar Lane.

Being Colombian, I’m very picky of where to eat authentic Colombian food. I recently moved to this area of Teaneck & was hard to find a Spanish restaurant let alone a Colombian restaurant. We have tried Noches de Colombia, it’s not a bad place to eat from, but lacks authenticity. 8 months ago this restaurant opened up & we were excited to try it out. The food here is amazing! It’s fresh, true home made Colombian food. The business is family owned and they are very humble. Definitely a favorite and our go to or order from place.

I’ve eaten the Bandeja Paiso four or five times and each time it seems to get better and better. For $ 11 there isn’t a better deal around. The chincharron, chorizo, steak, avocado, rice, beans, maduras and bread were all fantastic. The hot sauce that comes on the side is also out of this world. I will probably continue to order this at least once a week.

The wait staff is very courteous and nice, but most importantly the food is delicious. I’ve been here several times now and by now I’ve tried most of the menu and everything is great. I also encourage you to try out the soups as they are fantastic.(Pro tip: you can order off the breakfast menu at any time. Try the changua!)

The food is here is super fresh and delicious! Full of flavor. I am a meat lover and my fiancée is a vegetarian. We both enjoyed our dish of choice so much! The portion is great and the price is reasonable. We will definitely go back for more ! The service is also great! We ordered egg breakfast, the Colombia national dish and house salad. Love this place :)

Checked out this spot for Father’s Day dinner, and the poor restaurant was EMPTY. And there’s no reason it should be — the fruit juices are made fresh(the mango is just pure duhliciousnezz), the empanadas are delightful(resembling a bit of an eggroll exterior, with moist, flavorful filling that is highlighted by the chimichurri), and the braised flank steak in tomato is completely unique and tasty. The tablemates got the platter for two which is just a giant bowl of meat of all sorts(lovely chorizo, drier chicken and steak bits and crispy/crunchity chicharrones) that is served with salad, but is hard to eat. We will be back to try the bandeja!

The best Colombian food in my vicinity! Authentic, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. After reviewing the menu and if there something specific you don’t see that you’re looking for, you can go ahead and ask, they might just have it or even know how to make it. For example; I overheard someone asking for an avocado milkshake, and they don’t have it on the menu but they went ahead and made it and the customer said it was perfect after she tasted it. I must’ve ordered from them five times in three weeks and tried several things. We’ve ordered churrasco, batido de Maracuyá, chicken tenders, homemade pizza, chicken soup, and even their flagship plate called the«bandeja de países». All the empanadas are great. Not only do they have the traditional Colombian empanadas(beef with little potatoes) but they also have oven baked beef and chicken empanadas. And if you look at their menu you’ll notice that they have many more options of empanadas. But no matter what empanada you order make sure you ask for the homemade Colombian hot sauce! And if you don’t have enough reasons to go, did I mention that they have two flatscreen TVs where recently they’ve been televising every single Copa América games!

Not really into Colombian food but gave this place a try and now my mind has changed :) All I can say is that I tried the empanada appetizers and the Bandeja Paisa for a meal and it was incredible! Filling, inexpensive, service was very good and the food tasted great! BYOB, cool little spot. The server was very sweet. She even gave us 2 empanadas to take home. I will definitely be going back. Hope they continue serving great tasting, Quality food!

OMG I’m so stuffed after eating here. I thought I didn’t care for Colombian food but I do like it. I ordered the #2 entrée: Bandeja Paisa: red beans and rice, plaintains, fried egg, avocado slice, steak, chorizo, and chicharron. It was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. The chicharron melted in my mouth. My spouse got the #3 breakfast Calentado: rice and beans, two fried eggs, and chorizo. Our portions were huge and we loves the flavors. The place was packed when we arrived and that didn’t affect the quality of the food. Service was sweet and personable. Family-run and operated and you can tell they care about their business and that people are satisfied. Oh and the café com leche is top notch. We also got the empanadas trio and baked plaintain with cheese and guava paste. Prices are extremely reasonable. Cheaper than the Colombian in Hackensack. Highly recommend you give it a try. Park in the huge free lot around the corner on Garrison Avenue.
