I went Moki’s for the first time today. I was meeting a friend for dinner and was originally going to go to L&L’s but Unilocal showed me that this place had a higher rating, and rightfully so. The first thing that I noticed about this place is the superb customer service. The woman who helped us at the cashier was extremely friendly and welcoming. I got the 2 meat combo with teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, and macaroni salad. I ate the whole platter, including the slide of pineapple that came with it. I thought it was delicious. The cherry on top was that their staff surprised my friend with ice cream, cake, and a candle. My friend and I were fighting over who was going to pay for the food and I told the woman at the cashier not to let my friend pay since it was his birthday. Neither of us had expected they’d go out of their way to make his experience at their establishment extra memorable. 5 stars for you, Moki.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Five stars for service/employees and variety of meals plus authentic Hawaiian drinks and treats(chocolate covered macadamia nuts). Four stars for booths and good parking lot. Three stars for food and prices. My pulled pork, brown rice, and cabbage had ZERO flavor, even after adding supposed teriyaki sauce. The macaroni salad was just okay. They cater and were busy. I’ll probably give them another shot.

Moki’s was great! We had excellent customer service and our food came out quick. Everything tastes amazing too. I don’t like Mac salad and so their other salad options was really nice for me. Our favorite was the teriyaki beef!

Updated review. The katsu is on point and the sauce is to die for. I’m glad they changed their portions to where they are now. I’ve been eating here ALOT. Katsu cravings are now a normality in my life.

Pretty good. We pop over when we are in a hurry and need to still eat a little more clean. The food is pretty good but the prices keep climbing. The green salad is never good… Always wilted and brown :(the chicken is good sometimes pretty fatty. Rice and veggies are pretty good too. Parking is OK. Inside is cool.

I love going to Moki’s for dinner. The staff is always friendly and the ambiance makes you feel like you are in Hawaii(Just don’t look out the windows at the snow). Their Hawaiian cabbage slaw is my favorite and I could eat a whole bowl of just that.

For $ 10 I can eat twice, and I’m not a nibbler. This food is satisfying, tasty, and does have a taste you can’t find from any other places. A must try!

Really great service… friendly and fast. Fun décor too. This place tastes exactly like the meals we eat when we visit the north shore in Oahu. Good quality meat, cooked perfectly, very moist with a subtle flavor. The macaroni salad was delicious.

I ordered the Ohana plate with Teri chicken, shrimp and mahi-mahi with white rice and tossed salad and an order of spam musubi. I asked what the house dressing was and the girl up front had no idea. So I ended up going ranch. Food came out fairly quick. I dive into the Mahi-mahi and the fish was properly cooked but was a little lack luster on seasoning. The shrimp was good but hadn’t been properly deshelled before battered. The Teri chicken was spot on and tasty. The salad was a total let down. The leaves were spoiling and turning brown. The spam musubi was well cooked and the rice was spot on however I was hoping for more seasoning inside like sesame or ginger with a spot of soy or teriyaki. For desert we got the mokisada. This was the crowning pinnacle of the meal. The doughnuts were mouth watering the ice creamwas tantalizing with the fresh strawberries. I had the whole table asking for seconds and thirds :). Overall I was happy

Friendly staff! Good quality hawaiian food. I would say it is better than L&L. I like the hawaiian feel. So cozy and good vibes. The drinks to choose from… What a variety!!! Shaved ice is legit for dessert. Why not?!

Food and service were good. Tried their mixed plates consisting of pork, tonkatsu, teriyaki beef, and teriyaki chicken. All were good but my favorite was definitely the teriyaki beef. It was very flavorful and tender. Also tried their spinach salad and macaroni salad. The spinach salad was a refreshing light side. The macaroni was ok. I’ve had better tasting ones. Overall a good experience. Would like to come back to try other items in the future.

Let’s cut to the chase and start with the good and. Not so good. Wow sounds a lot like what I said to my ex before leaving. Ha. Quality of food– on point. The teriyaki chicken had ZERO fat and the right amount of sauce. It was tender and took no effort cutting into it with my plastic knife. Thank you Unilocalers for recommending the awesome chicken! Chicken Kastu– perfectly crispy and cooked just right. Mokis sauce IS addicting. The best I’ve had with katsu and if you mix it with sriracha it’s the
Mac salad– compared to other places like Mo Bettas, it was the same. It wasn’t runny and wasn’t drowning in mayo so that’s a plus. Spinach salad– I loved it. The spinach was fresh, the feta cheese crumbles were small enough to not be overbearing and the onions were minced. The dressing was sweet and tangy. I should’ve ordered an entire bowl. STAFF– I want to commend the staff for their customer service. I wish I could give their service 10 stars. The cashier was friendly, made light conversation and the cooks in the back were waving hello to me and asking how my day was. I enjoy happy people. The only downside is that the portions aren’t as generous as Mo Bettas but the quality of food here trumps anywhere else. I’m asking myself the same question– does quality trump quantity; Sure it does but the food was terrific and I wanted more. My first time here, not seeing any garbages I wasn’t sure if I should leave my box on the table or bring it up so I asked and the employee and she kindly informed me that she would clean everything. I like how they have sriracha sauce out. The Asian in me was screaming when I saw that bc I love, love sriracha! Nothing to really«complain» about but portions. If they gave a little more I’d be golden. Like a little girl on xmas. I’m not a fan of Hawaiian food but I’d come back here if I ever had the hunger pains for katsu.

I’ve gone to this place twice now. Il this time I got the katsu and teriyaki chicken. I love the brown rice and both chicken dishes were amazing. I did not like the Hawaiian salad. It was extremely soggy and not the best tasting salad I’ve had there. I also don’t suggest getting their fries. It was also soggy and I think they left it in the deep fryer for too long. Extremely oily. I gave hem three stars because when I was going to eat the pineapple I found mold growing on it. That’s just gross. Don’t serve people food with mold growing on it.

Enjoyable food, clean interior, friendly service. Hard to read the menu because of the surf board hanging directly in front of it(no thought into the layout of the signage). Good if you’re in the area and looking for something, or craving this stuff, but nothing outstanding or amazing.

Their small plates are huge. I used to live in Hawaii for about 4 years. When I moved back here I missed the island grindz and searched for a L&Ls but I couldn’t find one. What I did find though was this place. It’s pretty close to the island grindz I had been missing. Love the katsu, BBQ chicken, Kalua pig and steak. Add a couple scoops of rice and some mac salad and dats da kine! This place always takes me to a better place! Shoooots! Mahalo Mokis!

I went in not really expecting much. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall and I never really had the desire to eat here. A friend convinced me, and I got the Teriyaki Beef plate with the Spinach Salad. It was so good, nothing like I expected! I also got the Mokisada which was breathtaking. It was probably the best thing that has ever been in my mouth, and I’ve had some delicious desserts in my time. Definitely try this place if you haven’t!

A solid 3.5 stars. NOTE: If you find a Groupon($ 15 for two entrees and two desserts), Moki’s will not honor it. The manager working said it was for two entrees and two fountain drinks and that Groupon messed their ad up… but they’ve sold over 1,000 of these and haven’t changed the ad yet?! If I had to pick any cuisine to eat before I died, it would be the Hawaiian plate lunch. There’s nothing on it that is good for you, and everything is utterly indulgent and delicious. So I had to come here and get a Hawaiian food fix! Aside from the hiccup with the Groupon, food here is pretty good. We got two combo plates that had teri beef, kalbi ribs, kalua pork, and chicken katsu. We had about ten minutes of pure quiet as we were stuffing our faces. — Teri beef– it’s not like what I’ve had in Hawaii. It’s more like small pieces of chopped beef instead of whole slices. Taste is pretty good, but lots of pieces of fat. — Kalbi ribs– great marinade, but the amount of fat on these is a little absurd for even a Hawaiian queen! They were sizzling fresh though. — Kalua pork– nothing out of the ordinary — Chicken katsu– ohhhh man. This… was… bone… dry. Didn’t come with any sauce on top either, and couldn’t find any on the counter! Really don’t recommend this. — Mac salad– I don’t normally like mac salad, but I polished the scoop off with the rice and meats. Must have been good! — Hawaiian salad– I’m so confused on what is Hawaiian about this lololloll!!! My friend really enjoyed it though and loved the dressing they used. — Coconut mango smoothie– carries a hefty $ 5.95 price tag, but my friend pulled every sip out of his straw until his eyes were bulging from the strain. All in all, a great island food fix in SLC. Looks like they have a great buffet deal running Friday evenings, too.
