A great Irish pub. Food could be better but it was still pretty good. They actually have some real Irish items on the menu. Try the smoked salmon on toast with capers, cream cheese and onions. Service was very good but we are here in the afternoon. Not crowded I’ll be back.

I know it’s hard to believe but sometimes it gets cold in central FL and the famous Mt Dora Arts festival is dampened by a constant drizzly rain. It was on such a night that the four of us found OKeefes. This cozy pub was the perfect spot to warm up and dry off. We were greeted warmly by John, our server and allowed time to enjoy our brews and cocktails before announcing the specials. All in our party had an exceptional meal: perfectly cooked steak, my delicious and juicy blackened mahi mahi, shrimp pasta, chicken Caesar salad. OKeefes just made us want to linger and relax. We shared a fabulous Baileys Irish Cream cheesecake courtesy of the house as it was my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our first time at OKeefes –won’t be our last.

We love the vibe of O’Keefes. The bar is cozy, and conversations crop up between strangers. The Shepard’s Pie is excellent, and big enough to share, which they allow and don’t up-charge for. Great revolving taps, but they mix a tasty cocktail too. They often have live music inside on Thursdays, showcasing local talent, with talent outside on the weekends. Plus, they are part of the Lakefront Entertainment group., so they have great set ups for street parties(and they have a well planned and entertaining St. Paddy’s day event). They pour a proper Guinness, too.

Myself, my husband and our son stopped in here on Oct. 30th after having fun at the Tavares Trunk or Treat. We were tired and starving and our 3 yr old was a bit cranky. It was very busy, but we were still seated right away. The poor waitress was polite, but hurried. We ordered an assortment of appetizers to share, the mozz sticks were good, the onion rings very good and the stuffed mushrooms were excellent. We were very happy with the food, service and price. We will definitely be stopping in again!

This was my second visit to Okeefe’s. The last visit, the food was just average. Thought I would try again. My lunch partner and I started off by sharing the Tempura Green Beans: hand dipped green beans fried in tempura batter and served with creamy horseradish. Pretty good. Next, we split a House Caesar Salad. It was an average salad with bottled dressing. Our entrees included a Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich, topped with grilled tomato, ham and mozzarella cheese on a kaiser roll and a Fish Sandwich which was fried haddock served on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce. The Fish Sandwich was quite good but the Chicken Sandwich was nothing special.
Overall this dining experience, and the service, was quite average, very much like the last visit.

Have not recently been here but came when we first moved to lake county in 2013. So I’m don’t have a recent review, but from our 2013 visit for lunch it was ok but nothing to rave about. The lunch menu didn’t have much to offer. I got a club sandwich that was mostly bread so I took out the middle layer of bread. The atmosphere is really dark and something about carpet in a restaurant just makes me cringe. Haven’t been back since. But it looks nice on the outside patio

We stopped in for lunch for the first time. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the bangers and mash and I had the tuna melt. Both were very fresh and delicious. We definitely will come back again in the near future.

This place has some of the best wings I’ve ever eaten! A little dark on the inside but the food is phenomenal!

Stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday I ordered the tuna melt on an English muffin it came open faced both halves stacked high with tuna and cheese. Never had a tuna melt quite like it I don’t plan on getting it any other way from now on. Cole slaw was creamy and rich tasting. My wife enjoyed her grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich We both brought leftovers home. Even better the next day

I don’t know of any Irish pubs in the area so I tried this place out. Well at best at least they have Guinness on draft. The food is kinda mediocre and very overpriced. I guess you have to expect that for a place in downtown on the lake.

Great Irish pub. As soon as you first walk in the Irish décor hits ya. The place is well laid out and has outdoor eating and drinking for those of us that like to sit outside. The drink menu provides a good selection and the food menu covers a wide variety as well. Since we were thirsty we didn’t opt to gorge ourselves on food. Instead we had a few drinks and some home made potato chips which were fantastic! The wait staff was pleasant and warm. Great place to stop and unwind after climbing Mt Dora.

My boyfriend and i had dinner here on friday night. They have a nice sitting area outside. He had the blackened mahi and I had the grilled salmon which was tasty. The service was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and very prompt. I had a glass of the house cabernet which was very good. At the end of our meal the live music started. It was a man singing with his guitar and he sounded great. We will be back.

I ate at this restaurant with 3 others the other night. I ordered the blackened cheese burger. It was brought to me completely raw on the inside and cold to touch. I sent it back, I received it a second time slightly less raw then the first time. I sent it back again. I received it a 3rd time finally cooked. However, when I cut it open I now had a burger cut in fourths. That meant the same burger I previously had was probably nuked in the microwave placed in a new bun and given back to me. Another person in my party received his Shepard’s pie cold. I believe this place is a possible health hazard. I DONOT recommend eating here. Plus the waitress provided poor service and was rude.

We work right down the road from this place so its a nice place to enjoy at lunch. Parking — easy access I like fact we can eat inside or outside — on some days its nice to hang outside and enjoy our food. Food — always enjoy it. Especially the potato skins. Customer service — always friendly, haven’t ran out of drink yet. They come by the table often which is a plus. Price vs portion — Everything I’ve enjoyed so far was worth the price I paid for it. Will be eating there again soon for lunch. –Not a place I’d bring my kids to; however, definitely a nice place to bring a co-worker or friends.

Great little bar on the lake. Full liquor bar, although I would stick with the beer selections. I’ve never had their food but I always scope out the tables around me when I’m there and the meals always looks good.

My husband loves dark, dingy pubs — the closer to his ideal of Irish, the better. This rang true for him, near the water, dark, woodsy, shelves loaded with knick knacks and six packs just waiting for you to read, fondle or devour. He was in pub heaven. It even had stained glass. The beer selection was okay, very IPA heavy. For an appetizer, we tried the salmon on toast with cheese, capers and onions — it was delightful. Just enough salt and sour to even out with the thick, heavy cheese. We had a variety of dishes within our group: Fried Shrimp — just enough for a senior citizen. She thought they were great. I had their signature chicken dish — O’Brien’s Finest(not sure why): chicken breast stuffed with cheddar and ham and covered in brown sauce. The sauce was quite salty and the chicken very moist and tender — this dish was delicious. I also had mashed potatoes which were great to me — looked smashed with herbs. Hubs had Shepherd’s Pie which he liked but wasn’t overwhelmed with the flavor. He thought it was too much potato without enough meat and stuff. He also likes cheese in his Shepherds pie and it wasn’t in there. He had a slice of the Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake and loved every bite. Great little pub with a lovely park and lake to walk afterwards, we would go back.

Came here on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm and was surprised to find the place somewhat empty. There was a group of people doing car bombs at the bar but otherwise the place was empty. It was however, nicely decorated with all sorts of Irish paraphernalia. I was in the mood for wings so I ordered 10 naked wings with bleu cheese. They were a decent size and naturally went well with the bleu cheese. No drink specials at the time, but they did seem to have a nice selection of brew. I would consider coming back to try some of the Irish food they had there.
