The California and Brooklyn omelettes were pretty good. We asked for extra crispy hash browns(and they weren’t), but it’s very rare we get them super crispy so I won’t fault Joseph’s for that. Our kid got the pancakes and he was happy! The place wasn’t very crowded for a Saturday morning. That was a plus since we have two kids. The service could be better, but we have two kids and they’re fairly impatient. All in all, a pleasant breakfast.

I enjoy coming here because it is like a hidden gem. A nice relaxing atmosphere with waitstaff who want to please. The eggs have always been consistenly exactly the way I like them. Toasted bagel arrives nice and hot.(and they didn’t upcharge for it). Nice portion sandwiches. I like the jazzy music they play… makes me feel like I’m back at one of the hip places in NY… but after all –it’s about the food. The place is always clean — including the bathroom. They care.

We tried it because we got a coupon and are so glad we did. The omelette was really great, made with potatoes, cheese and the potatoes had peppers, were just lightly toasty. Not a throw away like many places that add potatoes. I said Gordon Ramsey would love this food to eat and look at. Cannot wait to go back next weekend. Please tell everyone, this little gem of a place is a great New York style deli with something more. Looks newly remodeled. Had wonderful NY vanilla soda in the fridge too. The servers were great, polite and helpful.

Besides having great food at the restaurant, I ordered a meat and cheese platter for my family’s annual Oscar party and it was fantastic! It exceeded all our expectations. Our platter included rare roast beef, smoked turkey, a deli quality pastrami; which I specifically requested, Hebrew national salami, Swiss and Munster cheeses. This was accompanied with a loaf of warm on arrival double baked rye bread and egg bread, good coleslaw, potato salad, sides of pickles and olives and three condiments. The food was delivered FREE, right on time and with a big smile. Joseph’s Deli is a fantastic bargain. After having tried platters from all the other famous Delis around and comparing, I can truly say that there is reason to go anywhere else.

A hidden Jewish Deli on the north side of Vanalden and Ventura. It was pretty quiet when I was in there, which was fine by me. My order of Matzo Brei was pretty good in terms of taste, but pretty small in terms of amount. The menu let me know that potatoes or toast didn’t come with the meal, but the plate should have been full with the brei. If they need to charge a little more to fill up the plate, then I’d recommend that.

One of my favorite delis… a West Valley classic! Authentic, fresh, fast, delicious deli food & the friendliest owner and staff. Outstanding tuna salad, tuna melts, coleslaw, warm fresh rye bread, crunchy perfect pickles, and their ‘mile-high’ pastrami sandwich is the best tasting way to break any diet. Now I’m hungry…

Sorry, I’m not a fan of Joseph’s Deli. We came here on a Sunday around 11:00am and it was completely empty. The waiter’s are very nice and the restaurant is small but very clean. We ordered the following: Kids silver dollar pancakes($ 5) — that was the only good dish at this restaurant Kids Chicken tenders and french fries($ 7) — the chicken tenders were Dinobites that you can get at Costco or any grocery store. Joseph’s Lunch Special($ 10.50) — you get ½ sandwich and bowl of soup. I got the mushroom barley soup, it was a watered down gross mess with raw mushrooms and ½ pastrami sandwich on rye. The pastrami was so overcooked that the meat had a jelly like texture. My husband got the chicken noodle soup and there was not one piece of chicken and the soup base tasted it was from a flavored boullion and not actual chicken. Then he got the ½ corned beef on rye and the texture of the meat was also gelatinous. I don’t think we’ll be back ever again.

I’ve been coming to Joseph’s Deli for years, reason being, it’s some of the best deli food around. You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches on rye, but my personal favorite would have to be the tuna salad. Always hits the spot!

Wow! Easily top 3(closer to top 2) hot pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had. The rye bread is excellent. Crunchy crust with a warm/soft middle. My girlfriend had the turkey pastrami and it too was delicious. The pickles are super good and the potato salad and cole slaw are really good as well. Customer service is top notch and super friendly. Wish I would’ve known about this place a long time ago. You definitely can find a cheaper sandwich in the Valley but you’d be hard pressed to find a BETTER sandwhich.

I ordered the pancake trio. Eggs were good and bacon was so dry, looked nothing like the pic. Pancakes were mediocre, but service was extremely fast and only one other group was here on a Sunday. Maybe they serve better lunch

Came here a week ago with the boss lady. Had been wanting to try this place out for years but always get sidetracked. WEFINALLYMADEITANDWEARESOGLADWEDID! I like my soup burning hot! I ALWAYS ask for it to be delivered that way! Needless to say, nine times out of ten I have to send it back. HA! We recently went to a new deli in Calabasas(now I’m not naming names, but it rhymes with Lovi’s) and I had to send it back twice, the soup was not even warm! My matzah ball soup at Joseph’s came out boiling, and it was delish! The pastrami sammich was equally yummy, as was wiifeypie’s turkey salad salad! Portions were not gigantic but I need to tone it down, so that was kewl, and the prices were beyond reasonable! Great service to boot! The very bestest part of the meal was I got to feel young again! I am 57 years old and compared to the clientele, I was a mere baby! I think the average age of the patrons borders on dead! Hell, I felt like a toddler, no an infant, no no, a fetus, nah, a sperm! No no no, DNA! I think you get the picture! Everyone wanted to talk to us, because we were still breathing! Can’t wait to return! I love being a celebrity! Just my humble opinion mindya! Moi

Sad this used to be our favorite Sunday breakfast spot. Gone downhill since they remodeled and raised the prices. Food was awful! It’s too bad because the young man that always serves us is so nice. Won’t be back

Best tuna salad ever! I’ve been coming to this place ever since it was labels table. Since taking over, Joseph has made it 100 times better than it ever was.

Came to Josephs deli to check it out, the food is much better and freshly prepared compared to Jerry’s and Brent’s deli. The 2 times I’ve gone to Jerry’s the service has been horrible and the wait time for food is outrageous when the place is empty. Food here was amazing, had a pastrami sandwich. Best pastrami in the valley, would recommend the place to anyone who wants good quality food! The price of the food is cheaper than Jerry’s and portions bigger, overall the place gets 5 stars for quality and service. Will definitely be coming back often!

I thought this place was pretty good. Not as ‘authentic’ as others have posted, but the pastrami on rye was delicious and the potato knish wasn’t half-bad. The place seems pretty thrown together though, limited on beverages, deserts and the menu is not as full-on NY deli as I was hoping for. I also had the cucumber salad which was pretty good. Although I liked it, Its not on my list of places I have to go to on a regular basis.
