It was kinda over priced and the portions were small. 15 $ for the pulled pork sandwich and all the sandwichs. Don’t let the picture of the menu or the one on the website fool you.

The food and service is incredible. Hole in the wall restaurant, which was incredible. Will definitely be back.

So, I finally got in to try this place, reportedly an institution in the west SFV. My meal was meh – borderline ok(good baked potato), but definitely not great – and was overpriced. I had the brisket plate and it was decent, but not the best brisket I’ve had. Definitely not worth $ 24. Not even close, actually. $ 12, maybe(Dickie’s is significantly better for less than half the price). They slice the brisket very thinly, which is exactly what you do when you have a mediocre cut of meat – slice it thin against the grain so your customers do not realize how chewy the meat is. This is old hat in the BBQ biz – and a sure sign of craptastic BBQ. It was obvious – I piled up a bunch of it and made it into a mouthful – too chewy to be called good brisket. And dry too. It needed the extra BBQ sauce – good brisket does not need *any* sauce. This tasted like mediocre roast beef. No flavor. Definitely not smoked. That about covers the good(yes, that was the good part, believe it or not – it is all downhill from here). On to the bad: my friend’s meal was just not good. He ordered the tri-tip and is was oddly, inconsistently cooked. Not sure how this happened, tbh. You have to TRY to screw up a steak this badly. He ordered it medium-rare and oddly, some of it was very rare(bloody) and some of it was very well done. None of it was medium rare. We pointed this out to the manager after he had eaten about half of it, and all he had to say was, «Do you want us to cook it more for you?» No – half of it was already way overcooked! He did not offer to replace it, and asked if we wanted to take it home. My friend pushed the plate away and said he did not want to eat it at all. The manager then said and did… nothing. He should have DEFINITELY removed it from the check. It was not good, and the manager did not care. Ridiculous for a piece of meat that was almost $ 30. Absolutely terrible customer service. So, not a good experience. To top it off, the menu prices are significantly higher than the images someone posted on here(my brisket was $ 24, not $ 18 – everything is about $ 5 more than the pictures on here, be warned). Our dinner for two was almost $ 60, with only one soda and no dessert or appetizers. And it pretty much sucked. And they didn’t care. At all. In addition, the table was sticky and worn. The décor is all ancient – seriously. This place has not been touched since the late 1970s, and it looks it, and has absolutely no character whatsoever. Zero ambiance. Zero. And the(men’s) bathroom is tiny, and feels like something in a dive in Chinatown. Four(different!) bare light bulbs in an ugly old wall fixture, cheap, old everything. Just gross. For these prices, a restaurant should be nicer, and the food better be superb. Neither was the case. I will not be back. A complete waste of money. We should have made a stink at the time, but we had a movie to catch and we had to go. We should ABSOLUTELY not have had to pay for the terrible tri-tip. Half was left on the plate and it was not cooked properly at all – not even close. Seriously folks – it was terrible. Do yourself a favor and skip this dive. For these prices, one can eat at any one of a number of *far* better steak houses in the west SFV. It surprises me they have been around this long. I miss Famous Dave’s in TO. They are gone now, but their brisket was fantastic. And it was $ 13.95($ 10 less!).

Had high hopes … The BBQ beef sandwich tasted like Arbys … 14 bucks for bullsh’t … 36 bucks for Steak? Come on … Better to eat at TAM O’Shanter … The waitress was great … The Host was an ass.

Had lunch here today. The place is clean & service is excellent. I had the chopped BBQ brisket sandwich w. Coleslaw as a side. Very good. Love the quiet, relaxed atmosphere & the music, relaxing classics from the American Songbook. They have beer & wine. I will definitely be back!

First off, this place was good. Service was incredible. Secondly, what is this place? BBQ food and décor, but also Italian music and Wines, and all Asian staff(and diners while I was there). Nothing against the place, just interesting to see a mix like that. BUT, food was good with big portions and service was great always refilling drunks and extra sauce and napkins. It’s a little pricey but actually worth it. If looking for a fine lunch or dinner, go here!

I’m going to be honest. I don’t think this is actually bbq. We had the chicken and babyback ribs and I couldn’t taste ANY smoke on the meat. It tasted like it was baked in the oven. You can’t just serve meat with bbq sauce and call it bbq. Sorry, but I won’t be going back

I have been company to El Paso Bbq for as long as Ted opened the restaurant. I feel this is the best BBQ restaurant ever and I would tell anyone that. I can not say enough on how great El Paso is and how much I enjoy eating here. I have Ben coming since I was A teenager and now my teenage grandkids enjoy El Pas BBQ as much as me.

I just had dinner here for the first time and I am completely satisfied. The service was great and the food was amazing. I had the angus burger. I can’t wait to come back and try the steak!

Have been going here for a few years and the BBQ is always great and the owners and staff are so nice and accommodating. You can’t go wrong with the baby back ribs or the pulled pork sandwich. Their BBQ sauce is a little sweet which I like. The portions are really big. The salad that comes as a side choice is really big! I like that you can get fresh baked sweet potatoes as healthy side but their thick steak fries are hard to resist. Occasionally I order the pork chops and they are nice and seared on the outside and juicy inside. The portion of two big chops is enough for two meals. The décor is cozy and western frontier themed. If you’re lucky, you’ll get the booth next to the huge fish tank where the big orange kissing fish put on a great show. Plentiful free parking as well.

Hard to find good bbq in LA, but El Paso is amazing! My boyfriend ate here all the time as a kid. We went together after he had not been back for years, and he said it was just as delicious. The ribs are super tender and fall off the bone, and all the food comes out steaming hot. The restaurant is ran by the sweetest couple. Excited to come back!

So here’s my take on El Paso Barbeque. My biggest gripe is the price. I got the Rib Lovers plate. $ 29.00 for two beef ribs and 6 little baby-back ribs! The ribs did taste good I will say. But really, $ 29.00.

I am a third generation diner at this fine local neighborhood classic. I grew up down the street, so my family and I were regular fixtures there practically once a week. The owners operate the business themselves, and the staff has stayed the same for over 30 years. This is also the best prime aged beef you will find in the valley, and in a real atmosphere that feels like home. The turkey sandwiches are a bite of childhood. I’ll never stop coming here.

Great food, great service. Baked potatoes were awesome, as promised. As was Teddy! We had the brisket, chicken, and baby back ribs. All tender and flavorful. Really enjoyed the BBQ sauce. Personally, I’d pass on the house salad next time, only to try something else. Not leaving hungry, and lots of leftovers.

I have driven by this restaurant many times over the years and never stopped by to try this place. I decided to try it out with my family. When you walk in, there is a western and Native American décor. There are also animal figurines by the window that do not match the décor inside. The staff is very friendly. When I sat down, there were no place settings at our table, but there was a dirty napkin. There was also a creamer with no top and there was a short curly hair in it. The menu items are quite expensive. I ordered the Rib-Eye steak, the kids ordered cheeseburgers and my husband ordered the pork ribs. My medium rare steak did not have that charred quality you look for in a steak and lacked the color of a well cooked steak. The flavor was not all that great either. I have to say that the baked potato that came with my steak was hot and very fluffy. The baked potato was my favorite part of this restaurant. The burgers were good, but it better be for $ 12.95. I would not go back to this restaurant and am disappointed with the food.

Took Mom here for Mother’s Day; My husband had a cheeseburger which he loved; I ordered a rack of spareribs with beans. Very tender, very good. I don’t quite understand some of these negative posts: One says«no flavor» on everything he mentioned. Maybe he had a cold and couldnt taste anything… then someone gives it a 3 star rating without even eaten there. «No kids menu», etc. What kind of a rating is this if you havent even eaten there? The menu is varied, and a little pricey… as many barbecue restaurants tend to be… so this is not a «once a week» kind of place… with tax and tip, I spent $ 65 but brought home enough ribs for 2 more dinners. The owners and staff could not have been nicer. Very friendly, very accomodating.

We had dinner here tonight and just as my previous visits during lunch and dinner tines, we were greeted by the staff and owner, Teddy. 38 years at this location. They must be doing something right! The service was prompt and friendly and the food was absolutely fabulous. Each time we have eaten there had been memorable. An example is when my wife and I ate here for lunch on a very rainy afternoon, Teddy gave us his umbrella to use so we could keep dry on our way to our car which was parked quite far away as the parking lot was full during that time. We drove to the front of the restaurant and Teddy met us and took it back from the car window without even allowing me to get out of the car to give it back. Exceptional service. I will always refer family, friends, and acquaintances to this restaurant when they are looking for quality food and service.

Looking for a great family style restaurant with fantastic service and delicious steaks and ribs? THISISIT! We’ve enjoyed El Paso’s for years now. Also introduced it to several friends who love it. Always satisfying + very gracious owners. You’ll love this place… try it!
