Silverking brewery is located in Tarpon Springs off Tarpon Road. The brewery used to be the town jail and they kept lost rescued animals outside. Silverking is another name for tarpon fish and the owner Brett has his own deep sea fishing charter in Tarpon. I got a flight of brews which included the Silverking Strike Blonde Ale, Anclote Tailing Red, Marshall Jones IPA, Bone fish Amber Ale, and I tried their Three Rooker Stout. Silverking brewery only has 5 brews on tap which was a little disappointing as there were not a lot of flavors of beer to try but it wasn’t too hard to choose a flight of 4 at least since 1 of the 5 brews on tap were out. The beers I tried were not bad but nothing unique or worth writing home about. I missed having a brew with a hint of orange, mango, raspberry, jalapeño, or even a good wheat beer. If Silverking could increase their selection in the future, that might warrant giving them another star. All the brews are named after local Tarpon Springs references including nearby 3 Rooker Island and Anclote Island. The only picture they could find of the jail’s Marshall is with a tarpon fish that’s taller than him coming in at 6 feet 4 inches so they had to put the picture up and name a beer after him. Silverking brewery had a live band outside called Oyster bone who are old friends of the owner. Silverking plays country music indoors and have 2 TVs at the bar to watch the game. The brewery has a wilderness lodge feel to it with old rustic wood on the walls, trophy fish, deer, guitars, paintings of fish, Speer hooks. Bar games include giant jenga and a pool. Look forward to my next visit!

Great place to sit and hang out. There is a lot of space and many tables. There is a bar in the front and in the back. They have four of their own beers which were all good.

Very interesting cool place. Three different areas with 3 different appeals. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only problem is the beers are ordinary or worse. I sampled four of them and it’s something you would expect from your neighbors homebrew. I’ll try them again to see it they improve.

Great local brewery! Stopped in on a Friday night and was able to meet the owner and brewer. He gave us a brief history of the building and what he has done and still planning to do in the future. The inside is nicely decorated with a rustic/fishing décor. There are five beers available to try. I suggest going with a flight so you can try a little of everything.

Great atmosphere, the 3 different beers we selected were all very good. Only drawback was the limited selection as they only had 4 beers on tap. Would definitely come back.

Everybody knows that if you get too drunk, you may find yourself in jail. But how about going to the jail to get drunk? I’m talking aboutSilverking, a microbrewery housed in a former jail house. Here, beer lovers can grab a beer, sit at one of the large wooden tables, and totally enjoy their jail time. The taproom is quite spacious, and there’s another room where you can buy souvenirs: t shirts and such with the brewery’s logo. There’s also a huge garage area where you can get your beer too. Totally relaxing vibe. Not sure how this place used to be like, but now, you won’t be in a hurry to bail out of here. On my visit up to Tarpon Springs, I was really happy to be able to hook up with Stacy Z., another beer lover, at Silverking. When I visited the beer selection is somewhat limited, with only 4 tabs, three of their own brews and a guest. I am sure they will be adding more soon.

Great atmosphere. I liked that there were a lot of couples here, it wasn’t just full of men. The beer is delicious! I loved the Blueberry and my hubby loved the IPA. Very nice staff, down to earth people. Love it! Highly recommend if you are in the Tarpon area.

Finally! Tarpon Springs has craft brewery in the downtown. What a cool place. The old police and fire station on East Lemon. Met the owner, Brett. Tried the Golden Ale and the Red Ale. Liked them both. They are just starting out. So, more beers are coming soon. They are one block east of the Pinellas bike trail. Well worth a visit!

This place will be something special That I certainly know. They’ve got a nice large bar area With a separate room for shows. They took this building, a former jail That had been abandoned for many years. The owners emptied it out, jazzed it up, Turned it into a place for drinking beers! As of right now, they’ve only got 4 taps That are pouring only guest beers Soon they’ll be serving their own brew And they’ll add more taps to try here. Brew master, Charlie, is working on A blonde ale called Silverking Strike. It came out a bit stronger than expected With an ABV of about 10.5! There will also be an «Anclote red» That they let Sofia and I have a taste of. It was a smooth tasting, roasty beer Tho they had yet to add carbonation. They’ve got upcoming music events You can find on their Facebook page There’s plenty of space if you want To dance in front of the stage! The term Silverking is actually Another name for the Tarpon, So it only makes sense That’s what they name their taproom.
