My wife and I decided to try this restaurant. We were not impressed. Hard to believe the amount of oil and salt used in the dishes. The Gyro was average and the Lemon Soup was watery and mostly rice. My wife had the Grouper Plaki, and she thought it was ok. The Greek Islands restaurant in Omaha, NE blows this place way.

I am a Greek man born and raised in Tarpon Springs. After living in Chicago for 8 years, I am now back. When I want authentic Greek food that tastes like my Mom or YiaYia cooked it, this is where I come. Since I don’t like crowds of the touristy type, I usually call in a carry out order. Their avgalemeno soup is the best I’ve eaten in my 30 years of life. Their gyros are great and the real deal. My favorite dish though is their roast leg of lamb with Greek oven potatoes on the side. The owner Andy is very friendly and hospitable. I’ve never entered the establishment when he’s there without a warm greeting and hug. He always makes sure to introduce himself to everyone and makes them feel at home. As long as their doors are open, I will frequent this important staple in our community.

The best Greek food that we’ve had in a long time. My wife and I ordered the combination plate to share just in case we didn’t like the food. we both were full and had left overs next time we visit the area we will be back.

You know as of late every time I go to one of my old haunts… I seem to find it not as good as I remember. take Mykonos place I remember a time when he would spend time talking with every table, so proud of his food. tonight it seemed like a very loud and over packed place. we generally dont sit in the front area, but because of the crowd we had to…“we thought the tourist went home.“we had to eat cold bread no butter with a crowd of people compressed around our table waiting to be seated. several times I was hit with diaper bags and balloons… limit the amount of folks you let in the lobby… ill always love that place but come on… keep it a nice experience when you spend that kind of money… I really don’t want some tourists ass hanging over my octopuss…

We tried this place with family and I will say the food was very good, however when I see people eating and drinking on the line, it creeps me out. Do they not realize the seriousness of safe food handling. I caught a waitress eating, then serving food, then back to eating. I seen the cook drinking a soda while making food. The food was four star good but they get 3 stars for the infractions.

Awesome. That’s all that needs to be said. Service five stars. Friendly. Fast. Informative. Speed of receiving the food five stars. We just started the homemade bread service and the food was delivered to our table. Quality of ingredients five stars. Fresh. Quantity of food is five stars. Bring your appetite. Taste is five stars plus. Price midrange but worth it. Impressive and if I could get a gyro like this at home, I would eat one weekly. Bathrooms a bit dirty. Parking in the $ 3 public lot. Multiple shops to visit nearby as you walk off the large portions! Enjoy.

Food very good and authentic. Service was the absolute worst! Will not return as there was no excuse for the poor service. We went mid afternoon and not real busy.

Holy gyro this place was delicious and one of the most filling meals I have had in some time. We started off with the tzatzki and warm pita which was some of the best I have ever had(even compared to my own)! The gyros were HUGE. I removed half my meat and still could not finish it. We mistakenly ordered fries that we could not even touch. The service was super friendly and if back in the area we will return!

Was in town just for lunch, so I had plenty of options to choose from. First thing to catch my eye was they had parking. Anyone who has been to the sponge docks knows this dilemma. Wow was I thankful they had parking, as I hit the jackpot! Some of the best Greek food I have had. We started with Saganaki. Yes! Opa! Grouper Mykonos was outstanding. Way too much, so a box rode home. Saw plenty of plates that looked amazing. Gyro platter looked huge for those that are tepid about jumping into the Greek food pool. Will be back

This is a go to place if you visit Tarpon Springs. First, they offer free parking for customers. Their eggplant spread is scrumptious. The bread reminds me of good bakery bread from my childhood. The Souvlaki sandwich was divine! The pork tenderloin was the best I have had!

Not particularly in the«fine dining» set, the food was excellent! Yes, we waited on a Saturday evening. There is no waiting area so we, the waitresses, and the diners all shuffled out of each other’s way. It seemed as though the wait staff was running food to another location too as they kept exiting the front door with trays of food. So, that part wasn’t really fun. Once we were seated, however, we could experience the food properly. We started with fried octopus and Saganaki. The cheese was perfect! The octopus was fine, just not in my wheelhouse. We each had lamb shanks. Mine was from the menu(with tomato sauce and lima beans). My dinner guests had the special with onions and greens. We were all highly impressed! It was the best lamb shank I have had(and I do not speak/write with superlatives). That meal was worth the wait and the two-step with the wait staff. While we did not have dessert, they brought us sliced apples drenched in honey and sprinkled with cinnamon. Tasty! I’ve eaten at most of the restaurants down at the sponge docks and this was the finest food I have had!

Ended up stopping at this local Greek restaurant on our way back from Fred Howard Park. If you haven’t been to this town, Tarpon Springs is the cutest Greek sponge-diving town! This was an adorable family-owned restaurant. We ordered off the specials list and everything was very good. The calamari was super fresh and the best I’ve ever had! The ambiance is very reminiscent of a small family-owned business. There were very old family pictures hung up from decades ago. While I was admiring them, the owner came by to chat with us. He was super friendly and had us try and guess how old the photos were and if we could identify him in the pictures. This place was really great! Definitely check it out if you’re ever in Tarpon Springs.

One of the Unilocaler friend recommends this restaurant to us when we were at Tarpon Spring. The restaurant has it own parking lot and you are not required to pay the parking when you eat there. We met the owner of the restaurant when we eat there. He also own the restaurant across the street. This a good restaurant with reasonable price. We order the grilled octopus for appetizer and the lamb chop for the dinner. The octopus tentacles was process and grill over open fire. The minor burn make the whole food smell better. It serve with olive, cucumber and lettuce. It is yum to enjoy. The main dish is the lamb chop come with two side. We have the salad and the rice. The salad have the purple olive which is tradition to Greek food. The rice is top with tomato sauce with crispy meat crump. The lamb chop is grilled. Most restaurant serve thin cut lamb chop. This is my first time eating 1 inch thick lamb chop. It also bone in. This make the pod have flavor. Love the chop. The service is great. Constantly some people to collect the empty plate. Can beat this chop any where. Very traditional Greek food.

Absolutely loved everything. I agree that the place is a bit run down, and could use a face lift, but I understand it’s not really feasible for them as a business to shut down to remodel. It’s about the food anyways, so I don’t hold the dated interior against them. The service was great, and they made sure to get the food out for our four year old ASAP, thus avoiding any type of meltdown. The salad, the pita, they gyro meat, and even the okra were great. The pastitsio, however, has a special place in my heart. Simply phenomenal, I can’t get it out of my head. At then end of the meal, the owner came over and talked with our little one, and gave her a special rice pudding, that he assured her he made special just for her. Great service, great food, can’t wait to go back.

This place must be good Greek out front. Spanish in back. Mythic god heaven As far as I can tell, Tarpon is the Greek food capital of the of world outside of Greece. And I don’t think you can make a bad choice here. The servers were super friendly. The owner was out and about chatting with locals. Make sure to get some cheese lit on fire and eat your heart out.

This authentic Greek eatery is worth the trip. Located along the Sponge Docks, it is an easy place to pop into for sustenance and keep moving. The waitress was really nice and attentive. The food was cheap and, most importantly, REAL Greek food. I had a gyro here. We watched them shave the meat for a while which ultimately led to our curiosity and need for a gyro. That thing was fat and full of glorious tzatziki sauce, veggies, and the tastiest gyro meat I’ve ever had. And I have had A LOT of gyros. If I ever find yum way back to the Sponge Docks, I will be back!

We asked the locals where we could get good Greek food and they sent us here. We did not leave disappointed. When we walked up to the restaurant we were greeted and shown to a table. My Mom had her walker with her and the staff showed us where we could put it so it would be out of the way yet convenient for us as well. We were told about the specials and our drink orders were taken. We ordered the Saganaki as an appetizer. When they brought it out they squeezed fresh lemon over the cheese and ignited it with a lighter and then shouted out a robust, Opah! She then extinguished the flame wish more lemon and placed the tray on the table so we could enjoy the cheese along with fresh white and wheat bread. So delicious. Within a few minutes our soups and salads were delivered, and they were equally yummy. Finally our entrees were served and when I saw the size of the portions I almost fell out of my seat. It was more then enough and when I tasted the Chicken Mykonos I was equally excited to know I would have enough to take home the leftovers to enjoy it for another meal. The flavors for so full and creamy. The herbs and feta were heavenly. This was one of the best meals I have had in some time and I am anxious for the opportunity to return to Tarpon Springs to try something else at Mykonos. I loved speaking with our server and some of the other servers learning about the Greek culture in the area. Seeing how everyone in the restaurant speaks Greek was very refreshing. My recommendation is that when you are in a town that is so densely populated with a certain culture, go where the locals go and eat where they eat. Don’t follow the«coupon» guys hawking menus on the street. The food should be able to stand on it’s on.

After walking thru the village buying soap and nut carvings we needed to get dinner Ordered the grilled octopus, lemon soup, delightful moussaka and the baked vegetables. The food is great service was attentive and fast. They have their own parking on the side of the restaurant which is great since usually a three dollar charge is in lost lots.
